Drake's is the sort of place you want to love, but sometimes they don't hit the mark. The menu offers elevated bar food, and this is a bar, make no mistake. Sometimes it is hard to get a seat and with no hostess or place to wait, you have to awkwardly eye tables that might be leaving. It is not the greatest situation. This place can be loud as well, but the atmosphere is fun. Service is inconsistent. We have had great service and poor service here. Food is typically good - the teriyaki bowl, the sushi, the fried pickles, are all good. Cocktail and beer menu are decent. Super casual, and can be fun, just go in with the right expectations. read more

Oh my goodness this place was soooo good. Last night I went to drake's for the first time ever, with no expectations. Immediately we were greeted and sat. We sat near the parking lot with the windows rolled up, it was really cool. The service was impeccable, the server Mahni was amazing!!! This place was pretty cool, and I'm sure during the warmer months when they can open the garage doors it's even more fun. The food was pretty good. Loved the Buffalo chicken dip. They have a variety of food, sushi, hamburgers, steak, and alot more. Now the bar was where it was at, the drinks where spot on and our bartender, Bri, made it all worth it. This girl has a great personality and her skill set was above most. I have to say the Bri really made our visit memorable. This place is pretty average. I wasn't blown away, but it hit the spot. I placed a curbside pickup order that said it would be ready in 30 minutes, and pulled up exactly when the food was estimated to be ready. I ended up waiting over 10 minutes for my food to be brought out, and was starting to worry that it was an unreliable system from the previous reviews posted here. They were absolutely packed with tons of people waiting around outside the restaurant, so they were extraordinarily busy and understaffed (like most restaurants at the moment, so I can't hold that against them). The food itself: when it was brought to me, the food was warm, but not hot. This means that by the time I got back to my house, the food was cold. I popped the tater tots and fried pickles in my air fryer to reheat them and give them a nice crunch, because they were soggy. The tater tots were delicious. The fried pickles were good, but I couldn't eat more than a few of them, because they were insanely salty. Now, I'm a girl that loves me some salt (shots of pickle juice, anyone?), but these were SO salty, they were a bit hard to choke down, even for me. The classic American smashburger tasted pretty good, and had the classic crispy edges. I mean, it wasn't out of this world or anything close to the best smashburger I've had, but it's better than some other burgers I've had around town. Overall, this place was pretty decent. I got off work nearby and decided to give Drakes a try! I had my son with me so I wanted to go somewhere kid friendly and not too fancy. We got seated right away in the bar area but the restaurant filled up fast! It was only about 5pm when I got there on a Saturday. The bartender seemed a little behind but the servers were great ! Our server was Payton and he did a GREAT job. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and it was great. My son enjoyed his cheeseburger sliders from the kids menu. I was invited to dine-in here by a friend of mine. I was a tad leery since it's a ways away from where I live but I'm glad I went! Their food is absolutely delicious, they have a great selection of beer on tap and their service is second to none. Even their sushi is on point! They hire specialty sushi chefs, separate to their cooks for the rest of their menu. The ambiance is classy, yet casual. I have been here a couple of Friday nights and they always seem to be busy. One good thing to note is their kitchen is open till midnight. The have a good collection of beer. They serve it from a 16 OZ to a beautiful tower if you wanna share with you're friends. They have good range of burger and southern style finger food that goes well. Randomly ate here on my way home from Nashville, and I'm SO GLAD I did!!! They were very helpful with Covid regulations and I was able to text my order in and pick it up curbside. I tried the JUICY LUCY sliders, and I am not even a burger person normally and these were PHENOMENAL!!! Crisp on the outside and gooey, cheesy on the inside with just a GOOD taste/seasoning as well. This place....my wife and her friends stopped in to get food late night. She kindly asked if I wanted anything to-go. Sure, just a simple cheeseburger. You know...lettuce, tomato, onion, the usual fixings. Unfortunately they didn't bother to check the bag. Cold burger, cheese so cold I could barely peel the bun apart to discover that was it. It resembled something you'd get from a gas station or bowling alley. However, cost 3x more. The few bites I did have were full of gristle. What a joke! I just moved here so I am eager to try ALL the spots, and this one hit just right. The beers are a good size. The quesadilla was large and stuffed with chicken. The fried pickles were a little thick, but still so crunchy and satisfying. We also got the Sunshine Roll and it was really good! We are from LA, so we are used to *actual* sushi, but we were pleasantly surprised - we devoured that roll instantly and can see it being a craving in the future. The only down side of our evening was that our bartender forgot to put in our entrees, but it was ok since we were knee high in fried pickles, sushi, and beer (a combo I'd never thought I would experience lol) Parking is easy since it's a shopping plaza. If you are looking for great customer service, promptness, and a non lackadaisical staff, this place is not for you. It's very, seat yourselfish. The staff was not congenial, friendly, or anything. This was my first visit to Drake's and I would honestly like to request a location for Florida. I went with a friend and our experience was perfect from start to finish. Dillion was our server and he was THE best. He was so kind, made perfect recommendations, and made sure we were well taken care of on a busy Saturday night. Decided to get the fried pickles for an appetizer and then the Mini Juicy Lucy's with tater tots. The food arrived hot and delicious. Don't bother with Curbside Pickup. Got there when they said the order would be ready, only to sit in the car for about 20 minutes after texting the listed number (and receiving the auto-reply). Finally decided to go in and check on what was happening. Masked up and waited by the door for a few minutes and no one ever came to the front to greet/help. Saw a couple of bags of to-go food dying on a table in the back bar, so went to investigate. Sure enough, one of the bags was mine. However, the service from, Ciara (hopeful on spelling), was a hard five (5) with a plus. You know when your service is so good that you notice, not too much, not too little. Ciara delivered. Head to Drake's for burgers, beer, and sushi. They are open til 1am on all days, but Sunday they close at 12am. I was surprised by how they were able to practice social distancing with the open patio space as well as the screens they installed all over the restaurant to ensure people have their own personal space. They have some neat sushi specials so we decided to try one of the sushi combos which consists of a specialty sushi roll, nigiri, and sashimi. We picked the rainbow roll, scallop nigiri, and yellowtail nigiri. I was surprised at how good the sushi was considering we rolled in closer to midnight. We also got an order of the sriracha wings which were fried and seasoned really nicely. For drinks we got the hot Japanese sake and a Johnny Walker black with club soda, both good choices. read more

I was in town visiting for the weekend from New Orleans,I decide to stop in Drake's to have lunch .The atmosphere was very nice ,the open bar area was clean and well organized .My server came right over, and introduced herself as Breann. They have a cool open air area that you can eat at & the evening was perfect for dining al fresco so we waited for a table to open up for 20 minutes which wasn't terrible. However that seem to be the theme of the evening, waiting. The service was very slow. We flagged a waitress from another table to order drinks. Then our waitress brought them & took an app order. Then took forever to come back for entree order. Once she put the order in the food came out pretty quick. The food itself is really good, we had a few sushi rolls which were surprisingly good given the remainder of the "bar" type items that are on the menu. Usually those 2 types of menu items don't go well together. One person in the group had the pretzel app which was great, came with a nice stone mustard & cheese sauce. Business lunch...(I like that when my business companion pays for lunch!) Drakes is getting a very solid 4-Star rating from me. Yet, I have a few questions that warrant attention. From their website: "Are we a bar that loves food or a restaurant that loves beer?" From me: -- Why, in all the photos accompanying the reviews, are there so many of signs and menu pics? Granted, the signs are amusing, but we hardly go to restaurants just to read signs. --Can a venue set up ostensibly as a sports bar cater to both the American Burger Crowd and the Sushi Crew? --Bar Stools only? I'm afraid that deletes one star for my family of relatively short people who are a bit uncomfortable sitting for any length of time (especially to eat) with their legs dangling. Several diverse craft brews on tap...and our server provided a fair-sized sample of one I had not tried before. But, more to the point of this first review from me. Note: I say first, because I definitely will be back for more. I was greatly, biggly, hugely surprised at the size, flavor, textures and quality of my BBQ Burger. Oh my! Now, that was a burger--a large beautifully crafted and perfectly cooked to medium patty with Honey Jalapeño BBQ sauce, plus melted Pepper Jack Cheese, Crispy Bacon & Crunchy Onion Straws. What a combination! This behemoth was waaaay too large to pick up, I had to cut it in half and even then had trouble eating it. (I ended up using my fork and knife to dig into this delectable, magnificent monster.) Flavors and textures - absolutely spot on--sweetness, savoriness, creaminess, and oh, that beef, tender and juicy. I ordered well-browned Tater Tots as the accompanying side dish but hardly had room for them, finishing only about half of those crispy critters in the course of our leisurely lunch. The Sushi will have to wait for another day, but I find it difficult to believe that it could come anywhere near to matching my joy of digging into this lunch. My lunch partners had respectively, the Tavern Burger with Sautéed Onions, Melted Pepper Jack, and Remoulade, a definite winner-winner lunch or dinner; and Blue Cheese and Apple Salad with very nicely grilled Salmon. This place is one to skip for any semblance of service. We were there at 530 on a Tuesday night and didn't get our food till 745 Had to hurry down our waitress with no response as to why our food was taking so long .Others around our table had their food and finished before we got ours. Had to find the manager and he had no good idea why it was taking so long. Finally got our food but still the waitress never came to see if everything was ok. Had to find the manager again to get out check. He took off the one drink we had and that was it. Very sad. Never going back read more
