Such a cute hidden gem in downtown Franklin! I loved the Prohibition-era theme and the whole atmosphere has such a fun, cozy vibe and feels a little different from the usual spots downtown. We ordered the pork belly bites, and they were really good! The drinks were good too, and it was a great place to hang out and try something different. Find the gray electric box with the Frankenstein switch to enter. The door opens and you feel like you've gone back in time. Jazzy vibes. In house created cocktails will creative names and flavors. My daughter and I tried 4 different cocktails and all were good. The only thing negative is that I did see the bartender use sparkling water to top off several of our drinks which did dilute them slightly. I absolutely love how this is a speakeasy vibe, you pull a lever on the outside to enter! Inside, the vibes are cozy and looks like the prohibition era. Great speakeasy in Franklin. Hidden inside Mellow Mushroom of all places. Only downside here is that it is extremely loud. Makes it a good place for date night if you want to get real close to hear one another. If you come with a group be prepared to wait. It is a small space. They will text you while you're on the waitlist and let you know when a seat is available, which is very convenient! Staff is very friendly. After seeing "hidden" bars on TikTok, we finally got introduced to one! We left dinner at Cork & Cow and the bartender showed us where the entry way was for the bar. It's behind Mellow Mushroom. You go down a hall and when it ends,pizza place to right and there is a door to the left. Look back in hallway and there is an electrical box. Open that and flip the switch for the green light to come on. The door opens and a very welcoming hostess lets you in. It's not a huge place but plenty of room to sit or stand and hang out with friends. We got there a little early so we grabbed 2 seats at the bar. This is where the magic happens. The bartenders there are talented mixologists. Dave was so nice and helpful. He taught me a Pina Colada is supposed to be on the rocks. It was fabulous! I also had 2 of the holiday drinks that were delicious. By far the best place to go for great cocktails. They also have a small and reasonably priced snack/bar food menu. Just an experience. The idea is very cool and the drinks my wife and I had were good. However, the service is middling with one of the bartenders acting annoyed when I inquired about the bourbon they had. I believe he kept saying "if you don't see it up there we don't have it". Since you can't see your hand in front of your face due to the "mood lighting", I'd saying reading the label of a bottle 15 feet away is out of the question. Locals club for preppy kids. read more

There's obviously no shortage of places to drink in Downtown Franklin anymore, but I can confidently say Amendment 18 is my favorite. It's the most reliable. Whenever guests come to visit, I take them here and can count on it delivering a good experience, which it has every time. It's the place with the best value to me as well. I've literally tried every single drink on the menu. I know that sounds crazy and irresponsible, but I've went a few different times and everyone I've went with coordinates so we don't overlap and by that practice I tried every drink on the menu over time. Every drink is amazing. They're well sized. You can feel that every drink is thoughtful and well crafted. There is one orange coffee one that is legendary. I hate tequila generally. I'm a whiskey drinker. But I had the tequila drinks here and I could actually tolerate them. If you know how I feel about tequila, that's nothing short of a miracle. I just shows how crafted the cocktails at this place are. Out of curiosity I've gone to the other cocktail spots in Downtown Franklin a few times, but when I have to choose a spot I actually want to go to, it'll be Amendment, hands down with no competition. read more

Once you're in, you're golden! The menu is extensive and creative, all the classics and more but elevated in complexity and flavor. I wanted to like this place since I had heard so much about it. I was expecting more than what was delivered, which is my fault for having expectations. We showed up and got in line like everyone else. There was a small waitlist, so we added our name to it. We waited around 20 minutes to be admitted. If you're still weary of COVID-19 or being in small, confined spaces, this might not be a place you want to visit. You're squeezed into a small hallway when you first arrive, and people utilize every inch of room available when waiting in said hallway. Once you're in the bar, you sit next to other people communally if you are at the high top. That does not bother me, but it could bother some who want to keep their space private from other patrons, not at their party. The drinks were left to be desired. I appreciate their own twist on the drinks, but they were not anything spectacular. They were standard tasting and had nothing unique to add to a $13 per drink. We did not opt for another one after the initial one since I think the first ones did enough talking for us to decide it was not for us. Service was grand! She was super sweet and attentive. She was one of those people who genuinely enjoyed working there, and she had a really sweet aura. No complaints about service or ambiance. The ambiance was excellent as well. I loved the speakeasy concept. If you do not want to wait making a reservation online is critical. The vibe is very intimate. Small space that does not seat many people. The service was impeccable. Our waitress was very attentive and answered every question my wife and I had. I had the Volstead which was their twist on an Old-fashioned. I will say that I was underwhelmed with the dream. I didn't feel that for the price I got a healthy pour. My wife got the Peruvian Punch because she loves Pisco. She was underwhelmed with her drink too. I've never experienced a business of any type that worked harder to create an unpleasant experience. At the entrance, they said they wouldn't seat parties bigger than 6, and we were totally fine not being seated together. Even though the place wasn't full, and there was no one waiting to get in, they kept making disapproving comments because more than 6 of us knew each other and talked to each other. Amendment 18 is a nice addition to downtown Franklin. The entrance is on the backside of the mellow mushroom and it only took a couple of minutes to get in. The mystique of the speakeasy is kind of broken by the fact that you need a QR code to get in but once inside the experience was very good. Glad I stopped by, but my friends and I will not be returning. The vibe is... different. Not at all what I expected for a Tennessee speakeasy. This is very much a "club" like bar. Music is loud, bar staff gives off uninterested and cold vibe, and the cocktails are mediocre. We tried several cocktails and only enjoyed one of them. I had high hopes for a legit craft cocktail bar since they make everything in house, but it was not hitting the mark. Again, the staff (bartenders) were giving off a vibe they didn't want to be there, and it wasn't late at night. They at times left the bar together for a while and we're even on their phones while we were talking to them and placing an order for another round. It was very bizarre. Awesome place to hang out and have a drink. This place has an amazing atmosphere, definitely old school bar/speakeasies vibes. Was very clean and the service was great. The bartender took the time to ask us what we liked and make recommendations, explain the drinks and the thoughts behind the ingredients in the menu. We ordered 4 drinks and they were all amazing.
