I grew up in Louisiana and this place made me feel a little bit of home. The roast beef po-boy wasn't my favorite, but the gumbo & seafood po-boys were excellent. Definitely a go back place. read more

Here's a Yelp-style review you could post: Stopped into White Alligator and had a great experience! My sister ordered the crawfish étouffée, which was well-seasoned with just the right amount of kick. It came with plenty of rice and crawfish, making it a hearty and satisfying dish. I ordered the shrimp wedge salad, and they definitely did not skimp on the shrimp! The blackened shrimp was perfectly seasoned and paired wonderfully with the bleu cheese dressing. A nice surprise was the bacon--not crumbled on top, but two large slices that added great flavor and texture. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails. I ordered the Flower Drop, which was recommended by the bartender, and it was absolutely delicious. My sister chose the Golden Hour, which was a bit more spirit-forward compared to my drink but still very enjoyable. Overall, everything was flavorful, the portions were generous, and the service was great. Ambiance low key which I love and family friendly as it's set in the Factory! I'll definitely be back! read more

Cool location with great food. The gumbo was on point! I would recommend and I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

Great , cozy place located inside of The Factory. I split the half Muffaletta with my husband & it was a perfect portion for lunch. We both even took some home. I suggest ordering a little extra of the olive salad ( tapenade) that comes on it. I will definitely request more on my next visit because there wasn't enough for me. I am also going to try the Beignets I saw some come out and they look of SO yummy! Go visit the White Alligator you will be happy you did! read more

Have always been cautious of cafeteria style restaurants but this place is well worth it. You walk in, place your order and then they bring it to you. The whole process from ordering to getting our food was less than 10 minutes. They have a full bar in the back and they make one hell of a Sazerac. I had that and the crawfish étouffée, my wife had a side salad (which was huge) and muffaletta. The etouffee had so much flavor and the perfect level of spice. The muffaletta my wife had was very good. The staff was polite and professional, the restaurant clean. Will most definitely be back!! read more

Love this place! Inside the Factory so can do some shopping while there. Folks always greet you right when you enter. The best po boys! The right bread and I've had the shrimp, oyster and the half and half- all so good! Hubby gets the turkey or roast beef. And good fries! We usually eat at the bar. read more

Cool Cajun place in The Factory. Cute setting. Friendly staff. Food was decent, but could have been fresher.

Good solid Cajun food Nice Jabalaya. Fried seafood platter is tasty Friendly staff. I'm Looking forward to trying the Roast Beef on fries I love the Factory and this is one of many great restaurants in the facility read more

We have been here too many times to count, but this is the first review. Food is off the charts incredible, drinks are outstanding and the bartenders create a unique experience. Service is always top notch and if I had to order a death row meal it would be the King half shrimp half oyster. We live in Murfreesboro but drive to Franklin at least once a month specifically for White Alligator. read more

I didn't like po' boy sandwiches until I came to White Alligator. They're so good, the bread is fresh and i'm a big fan of the fried shrimp. The cocktails are surprisingly good as well. I like to sit at the bar where you can order from the full menu. read more

Ratings Husband - 4 star - roast beef Son - 4 - alligator Me - 3 - burger Sides - fried green tomatoes & red beans & rice. I got outvoted and they got a 4. Husband got the roast beef. He enjoyed it but thought it was too much bread. He prefers when they pull some of the bread out. It had debris and that's probably why he gave them a 4. We shared a side of red beans & rice. He thought the flavors were nice. I did not. It was like playing a game of find the beans. It was overly spicy and resembled a sausage soup. I've never had soupy red beans & rice (that barely had any beans) before so I wasn't a fan. Son got the alligator and fried green tomatoes. He really liked the sandwich. It looked like it had a nice amount of gator in it. The fried green tomatoes were overly spiced (come on not everything in Cajun food is a heat bomb - I'm from New Orleans so I know my Cajun food). Having said that - the tomatoes were done right. Not greasy and the crisp was good. Me - burger and this was where things went sideways and they lost a star. I have food allergies. I very carefully pick places where I can eat and make sure to stress what I cannot have. It's nothing crazy. Seafood, dairy, eggs.... so I chose the burger with no cheese. I don't like pickles or onions so asked those be removed as well. It comes out, no cheese. Yay! But it had so many pickles in it! I spent a good amount of time deconstructing it. Then there was the meat to bread ratio. 1/3 of the sandwich was just bread. I wasn't a fan of how they placed the burger on it. I thought it was a good idea to make a burger po'boy but the burger should have been placed differently or something. So between the "find the beans" soup and the mostly bread burger? I had to give them 3 stars. Ambiance - typical mall restaurant. Service - solid 4 star. read more

The White Alligator is an excellent addition to the culinary options that The Factory has added to its lineup over the past few years. And it's one of only a few truly authentic Cajun restaurants in Middle Tennessee. The catfish po'boy is exceptional! But the crispy catfish isn't the only highlight as there is something truly special about the finely shredded lettuce complementing the chewy bread and flavorful batter! I'll have to come back for the alligator po'boy because they're almost impossible to find in Tennessee. The Cajun fries are pretty good but not as exceptional as the sandwich. The beignets were tasty, but way too thick compared to my favorites in Louisiana. Beignets are usually light and airy while these are dense like a loaf of bread. But I'd still recommend ordering them anyway as everything on the menu is fantastic! read more

Finding a place to eat in Franklin after 8 p.m. on a weeknight can be a challenge--especially if you're looking for something local and not a chain. Fortunately, The White Alligator popped up in my search. Nestled inside The Factory at Franklin, it was easy to find, and the staff and management were very welcoming. I ordered the Alligator Po'Boy and a cup of gumbo (which really should have been a bowl because it was that good). The gumbo was hearty enough to be a meal on its own. The po'boy was labeled "regular," but it came out as two large pieces--more like a giant cut--packed with tender, flavorful meat. I'll definitely be back! Also ambiance was great representation of the south. read more

The White Alligator is a spot our whole family can agree on. This has been a regular spot for us for almost a year. It was our first meal after moving here. Find them across the hall from Honest Coffee Roasters in The Factory. You order at the counter, receive an order number, find a table, and the food is delivered to the table. Our food usually comes out in about 10 minutes. In the back they have a full bar if you want a drink. The restaurant has about a dozen tables. There are booth table combos in the front and tables in the back. High chairs are in the back section of the restaurant. The menu offers a variety of Po boys, seafood platters (with fries, hush puppies, and fries), salads, gumbo, jambalaya, and a muffuletta. There are two kid meal options. My favorites here are the Shrimp Platter (blackened or fried are great) and Shrimp Wedge Salad. My daughter loves the Fried Shrimp Kid's Meal with Fries. My husband loves any of the Po boys. The fries have a yummy seasoning and the hush puppies are flavorful. The White Alligator is a win for a casual spot to get seafood and some Cajun favorites. read more

Always a great place to enjoy a superb po-boy. I love the mixed oyster and shrimp, sometimes the husband changes it up and gets the turkey but usually the king size po-boy with a side of fries is the perfect lunch for us to share. It is so craveable, when I am in the mood for a sandwich this is where I go. I think the batter they use is absolutely divine. My husband and I typically sit at the bar, we enjoy the nice quick service that is never intrusive or pushy. Definitely a place to stop by for a great sando read more

Eating at the White Alligator for the first time and we loved it! The service was excellent and the food delicious. One person got the muffaletta, one the had jambalaya and I had the fried oyster po boy with a side of fried green tomatoes. We ordered the beignets and each had one. Everything was excellent. The regular po boy was huge and I could only eat half. I will be back! read more

The whole experience. Only thing I was not crazy about was paying 5 times. But that is explained upon check in. Well worth the visit.

This is where you go if you don't want to drive down to New Orleans. Found in the Factory in Franklin this restaurant will transport you the NOLA with just one bit of their fried catfish platter. I loved a fried catfish and this places does it perfect to the T. I love their hushpuppies and even their coleslaw (which I am picky about). You order first then grab a table - food made fresh to order. You are able to walk around the Factory if you had too much to eat - which is a given. read more

Great ambience. A good spot for dinner with the fam or a drink at the bar after work. I've eaten the shrimp & oyster poboy a few times here and it's the closest I can find to an authentic Cajun poboy. One critique I have is the bread is not great, the restaurant would be better off shipping in Reisings straight from New Orleans. I also recently tried the chicken and sausage gumbo and it was pretty underwhelming. It has a nice dark base so you can tell the roux was made right, however there was little to no chicken (what was there were strings of chicken) and the rice was undercooked. Chef needs a tad practice. Oh and this is a creole gumbo (as opposed to the more popular Cajun gumbo in south Louisiana), so if you don't like tomato's then beware. read more

Best po boys this side of New Orleans. We sat at the bar - great service from Seth. You must try the Frozen French 75 drink - delicious. Atmosphere good - not too loud to talk - long tables in center - courtyard like seating in back. I recommend going between lunch and dinner due to limited parking for weekend lunchtime. We loved it - shoutout to Manager Courtney! read more

The White Alligator - Seafood platter . Catfish, shrimp, oysters , hush puppies and the best fries. - Seafood Near Me - Franklin, Tennessee

We've been here regularly, almost always choosing the mixed seafood platter. It was an unfortunate choice this time . Both the shrimp and especially the oysters had the taste and texture of having been fried and sitting out for a while. The oysters were barely bigger than marbles. The catfish was a bit better. The fries were over seasoned and over salted and mostly limp. Neither of us could eat more than half. We ate recently at Voodoo Gumbo in Bellevue. As I posted in my review of that lunch, it could barely be improved upon. As we are about equidistant from both, it will be a while before The White Alligator gets our trade again. read more

Went about a year or two ago with my cousin and we shared the shrimp and catfish. The food was good, but the portions felt small for the price. Food is excellent & fun place to eat. The fried shrimp is very good! Ambiance is good...not fancy.

Listen, I seriously have not stopped thinking about this place - like at all. It's all I've talked about since I way overate there a week ago! We were going to order to go tonight for our second experience but when we called they mentioned a super long line and they couldn't take any to go orders at that time. We stood in line pretty long for our first experience and didn't want to do that again tonight so went elsewhere but we will absolutely be back! The couple we were with got varying versions of catfish (platter/po boy) and ate it all! My husband got the fried shrimp po boy and said it was good and he'd get it again. I got the turkey po boy and it was the most delicious sandwich I've had in ..... since I can remember. I ate ALL of it (regular size) and I ate all of my potato salad (yum!) and half of my husbands Cajun fries (also yum!). I did get a drink Southern Belle maybe is what it was called and it was good, I'd probably try a different drink next time. Either way, I'd recommend and I can't wait to go back! Super delicious!!! read more

Girls trip to Franklin began at The Factory and, rather than leave and be cold yet again on the wkend after the ice storm, we opted for this place. Needed a table for 5. At the counter where we ordered, they knew a table was about to leave and they held it for us. Much appreciated. Had the 1/2 'n 1/2 fried oyster po' boy with gumbo. Delish! Our server was attentive and fun. There were couples, teens, and families with grandparents, everyone was having a good meal and a good time! Wish I'd thought to take a picture of my food!‍ read more

Cute Cajun spot in the super hip Franklin Factory. Order at the front and they bring it out to your table. My husband had a po'boy burger and I had the jambalaya. The burger was certainly generous but he didn't think it had enough flavor and it was hard to eat. My jambalaya bowl was delicious and I ate every bit. Cajun fries were just ok, I'd skip them next time and maybe get a cocktail instead. They have a full bar that you can hit up separately. read more

I had a great lunch here, and am happy that The White Alligator has opened in the Factory in Franklin, which is quickly blossoming into a fantastic destination. The young woman at the register was super friendly and helpful, and accommodated me by making recommendations on what I should order. I went with the Fried Shrimp Po-Boy and the Gumbo. Both were really delicious. The bread in particular was fantastic, but I enjoyed every bit of everything. While you place your order at the counter and then they bring the food out to you, there was still plenty of staff around and they were attentive. Several checked in on my while I was eating. The restaurant was also very clean. I really enjoyed my experience at The White Alligator and look forward to returning soon! read more

We love this spot! Service is outstanding and most visits the owner comes around to check on the experience. The shrimp is amazing and all of the sandwiches are made with the freshest bread. Also, the bar is an added bonus. We've been to have a drink and have not been disappointed. read more

I had red beans and rice, and my spouse had a mufeletta. We agreed they were probably the best we'd had outside of Louisianna. Followed lunch with beignets. They were good, but I think they'd have been better if they had been smaller so they would have cooked up more crispy, but we still enjoyed them, and while they may not be the Cafe du Monde in the New Orleans French Quarter, they were certainly good. My one disappointment was the noise level. It was roughly 2 in the afternoon, and perhaps a total of 12 people dining, but the voices of the other patrons were suprisingly loud considering how few they were. If the restaurant were to be full, I think it would have been deafening. read more

I was warned the half muffuletta was large and she was right! I could have easily shared this. I finished half and brought the other half to-go. Delicious and fresh with perfectly proportionate ingredients and bread. Would 100% order again. The fries were shared and plenty. They weren't the best I've ever had but I couldn't put my finger on why. I'll try a different side on my next visit. read more

The White Alligator is located inside the Factory and serves New Orleans style food. You order when you walk in, find a seat where you like, and they bring the food over when it is ready. The restaurant is small but has great decor and a fun atmosphere. I ordered a cup of red beans and rice with a side of fried green tomatoes. I thought the red beans & rice was delicious. While I liked the batter on the fried green tomatoes, there was way too much seasoning which overpowered everything. I would love to go back and try some of their other options. read more
