After a day of soccer, we found Scout's down the street from the fields. It's located in a cute town square area with a pond, swings, and grassy area for kids to play. We had a large group of 9 and they seated us right away. We chose to sit on the patio to enjoy the warm afternoon sun and breeze. It's a dog-friendly spot, and our kids loved petting the other guests' dogs (asking for permission of course). The inside is cute as well, but it would have been a little crowded with our larger party. But I could imagine hanging out with friends at the bar or on a date night with my wife. Scout's has a large and diverse menu, so everyone was able to order something to their taste. My son had a smash burger and appetizer of fries, cheese curds, poutine and bacon, my daughter had chicken tenders and Mac N Cheese, I had pizza, and my wife ordered taquitos. They also have a full bar and several craft beers to choose from. I had the Good People IPA, which is one of my faves. The service was excellent. Our server, Lauren, was friendly and attentive. Grabbed empty plates quickly, refilled waters & sodas without asking, and was ready to bring us the next round at just the right time. read more

First time at Scout's and will definitely be back! Our server was wonderful, very personable without being overbearing. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and cornbread apps. Tomato's were tops. I didn't try with the pimento cheese, but the tomato alone was the perfect crisp exterior with a hot and fresh interior. I didn't try the cornbread but heard awesome. I got the avocado and corn Caesar salad with blackened salmon. The salmon was great! Could have used a little more spice for me to consider it "blackened" but still, cook was wonderful and it had good flavor. Didn't care much for the salad, and would definitely order something different next time. The lettuce was soggy from too much dressing, and as a Caesar salad connoisseur who orders every time possible at every restaurant possible... I'm not even sure that was Caesar dressing on it. Croutons were also soggy, and that's normally my favorite part of the salad, the crunch factor. Made me sad. My parents both loved their dishes (fish and chips / pear and blueberry salad). Again, I did love my experience, but the salad needs some serious work. I would never order again. Good news is they have many yummy looking dishes on the menu I'd be happy to try. read more

Scout's Pub is a good for a casual dining experience with a variety of food options. We've had good luck getting a table around opening on Sundays. They accept reservations as well. Parking is easy with plenty of free parking available on the street or in the lot closer to Kroger. The restaurant offers a bar area, tables, and booths. It's casual with a dog theme. They have an outdoor patio as well. The service has always been friendly. I do find that it consistently takes longer than I'd expect for the food to come out. Just something to keep in mind if you're in a rush or have little kids. Our most recent visit was for the hard candy themed Christmas pop up. The decorations were cute and I liked the themed menu to go with it. The Holiday Joe was a delicious cocktail. I also really enjoyed the Bacon Wrapped Dates, Chicken Pot Pie Soup, and Korean Meatballs. The meals from the kid's menu are large portions. My kids have enjoyed the Burger and Butter Noodles. The fries are really good and fruit is an option if you prefer a healthier choice. On the regular menu we've enjoyed the Short Rib Sliders and Fish & Chips. The Hot Brown was fine, but not a favorite. The Chinese Chicken Salad was delicious. I really enjoyed the dressing with the salad. This is a good spot for us as a family since everyone can order different types of food. We have enjoyed our food here too. read more

I want to start with the service: our server was Cody and he was amazing! He was attentive, listened well, and when I told him about my corn allergy, he sent out Kramer, the chef. Kramer listened carefully, asked me what I really wanted from their menu, which was fried chicken. He whipped me up a special batch of fried chicken that had no cornstarch in the coating. It was the best fried chicken I've had in 20 years at least. After Cody served us our food, Kramer came back out to check on me. And then I need to mention the biscuits! Oh my gosh, they were amazing. And the mac and cheese--also amazing! Have you noticed I keep saying 'amazing?' Next time I'm in Nashville, I'll be going back. read more

We went here for their Hard Candy Christmas themed event. It was very well decorated, service was good. Our waitress was very nice and pleasant. We ordered the hot apple cider and snickerdoodle drinks. Both were very good! Would love to know where to get the glassware! Also my wife ordered the pub rolls and fries. She was thinking it was going to be more like sliders but it was egg rolls. They were still very good and she enjoyed them. I had the bourbonyaki wrap and sweet potato fries. The first time that we ate here three years ago, we had a fantastic experience. We were able to sit outside on the patio and the food was absolutely delicious. We thought the value for the food was fair and we had a great server. We went back a second time two years ago and we had a reservation and we got there and we're told that it was gonna be an hour before we could even get sat down and the hostess was very rude to us. Friends visiting? What better place to take them in Westhaven? (Yes, there are a few other, albeit limited, notable spots - but for this lunch trip, Scouts proved to be spot on.) Weather was super, so we sat outside - patio was full, but no sense of "crowding" (Except for the pesky flies...then again, it's nigh impossible to control nature, eh?) Service was very efficient and our food was quite good. To wit: beer was icy cold (excellent - and chosen from a relatively limited, yet adequate - selection of draft brews). Lots of other drinks too! Guest one's Arugula with strawberries and blueberries salad was fresh and large. (Would have preferred balsamic, but over all, salad was great.) Guest two's Scout burger with white cheddar cheese was done to perfection, (M-MR, slightly pink) large, juicy, "flavor...full." Side of fries were ok. Guest three's Polish Philly was nicely presented, split and fully loaded. Oh my! (check my photo for accuracy...lol) My "Bourbonyaki Wrap" (bourbon-marinated grilled chicken, caramelized onions, mushrooms, arugula, goat cheese, wontons...huh?) was so-so. Lots of good flavors in an overstuffed wrap. Biggest shortfall was that the onions were all crowded in one end of half the wrap as was the goat cheese. So, I got plenty of delicious, tender and flavorful chicken bites that were combined with the aforementioned ingredients on half of the bites on the first section...and the delightful goat cheese on the last 3 bites. (Didn't see or crunch any wontons that I'm aware of; might have been too soft from sitting, wrapped) Chef, if I may make a suggestion, spread the cheese on the bare wrap, "scatter" on the onions, then pile on the chicken etc.) Wrap was very, very soft and pliable, a bit hard to hold. Perhaps it sat while the other guests' food was cooking? (That's likely why it's held together with a wooden skewer.) However - GREAT flavors...just not a carefully prepped dish. Pub fries were ok...but got cold very quickly at our al fresco lunch. We'll be back. read more

Arrived Saturday night and a woman seated us right next to another table directly when there was plenty of other tables that would've given us both privacy. I was a little surprised she put us right next to another table when others were available and the people sitting down were a little annoyed too. Luckily it was much better from there our waitress she was really good. Brussels sprouts were good. Cauliflower was really good with these little cheese curds with it. They were very delicious. The Stromboli was dry. I just needed something inside of it, but it was fairly good regardless of dry inside. The restaurant was decorated tastefully for the holidays and was a pleasant experience in WestHaven where I live and I will definitely be back. It's funny, the place is right at your doorstep but I never tried. I'm glad I came. read more

Tried to treat my 87 y/o mother to a nice lunch. There were three tables of diners, two had finished eating, and a few people sitting at the bar, two servers. The bartender approached, asked us what we wanted, as if we were in the wrong place. Seemed put out when we asked for a table. He sat us, gave us menus, then we were completely ignored for more than 15 minutes. We left. It was incredibly strange, they just didn't like the look of us I guess. read more
