I could've had two more orders of it they were so good. I had the Lamb Osso Bucco as my entree and it transported me back to my Italian Grandmother's house with the wonderful flavors! Phylicia recommended the Affogato Al Cafe for dessert and it was to die for! The honey goat cheese was especially amazing. Not pretentious at all, just authentically good. Although it's a strip-mall space the design was comfortable and elegant. My department at work came here one night as a team dinner. I first need to shout out to the service staff. I don't know if they were expecting our table of 8, another table of about 8, another table about 12 or so, plus a handful of parties with 2-4 people. There were only 2 servers, but I barely noticed as we were really enjoying our food and conversation. I ate the braised short rib. Sadly the charred broccolini was way too charred and there was something off about the mashed Yukon... can't put my finger on it. I liked the short rib while my friend found it too tough. We both regret not getting pasta. All my colleagues who got pasta loved it. Check my photos for all the variety at the table. The desserts were amazing! The tiramisu was bigger than my hand and about 3" thick! I got the peanut bitter cheesecake which was kind of "deconstructed" which I found quite enjoyable. Chrysalis: talk about outstanding customer service and amazing food. This place wins hands down. Absolutely loved all the starters, the burrata, flat bread and egg plant dish. The fettuccine pasta with Alfredo that I had was good. My husband had the vodka pasta , and the spicy kick to it was amazing. Tiramisu was exceptional. Came here to enjoy a date night and left very impressed. Service was fantastic, the inside is decorated so well, and the food was all great. The caesar salad was delicious and the small size was perfect to share when combined with other plates. The meatballs were very good, but I'd probably skip them and try something else next time. The shrimp bruschetta was a delicious combination to behold. The star of the show was the thin crust hot honey flatbread. Absolutely amazing taste and it was pretty spicy (not too spicy but the right amount for us). To cap the night we enjoyed the tiramisu which was large and tasted just like the few we've tried when in Italy. For apps we got the mussels, burrata and the margherita flatbread. We'd skip the mussels next time but the flatbread and the burrata were amazing! Our favorite was the burrata. Different from anything we've ever tried and so tasty! For mains we got the Vodka Diavolo Pasta and the Bolognese Pasta. We picked the house made fettuccine to go with the sauces. Both were perfect. The pasta was delicious. Vodka Diavola. They swapped out the shrimp for chicken, which I appreciated. The sauce was SO FLAVORFUL. A bit spicy, which I Love! I could have DRANK IT. We ate at Chrysalis for lunch to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We had the Vodka Diavolo and Salmone al Limone. Both were fabulous! Our waitress was so attentive and friendly and she blessed us with a free dessert for our anniversary! We chose the bread pudding and it was divine! I also ordered a latte and it was made perfectly. The waitress told us the coffee beans they use are roasted locally in Nolensville. The restaurant was very clean and the overall theme and decor was beautiful. We had a fantastic experience at Chrysalis! The food was incredible, flavorful. The portion sizes were a bit small for the price, but still worth it to do every once in a while. Our waitress was so kind and welcoming! She frequented the table and kept our water filled and always asked if we needed anything else. She gave great suggestions from the menu as well. Both the peach and the mango spritzers were delicious, and the Pig and Fig flatbread was phenomenal. The ONLY knock I had on this place was the music. One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, tonight was not excellent. Started with the Floralia- refreshing but a bit tart for my taste. They Jo longer had the Tuscan Kale salad on the menu so went with the halibut over orzo-- delicious but could have been better with half the amount of capers. Took a bread pudding with strawberries to go only to discover back at the hotel that it was black and burnt, so only half edible. Service was good but overall, a bit disappointing. read more

Chrysalis has been one of our favorite Franklin restaurants since we moved to the area a few years ago. It's still a pleasant welcoming space with friendly helpful staff. But it suffers more these days from a case of overachieving chef syndrome. We tried several of the chef's features on the new winter menu, the osso bucco and the trout. The osso bucco was nicely cooked, tender fall off the bone chunks from two small bones. But the pleasant roast was overwhelmed with a complex plate of cheesy polenta, stewed kale and tomato gravy. A table mate had the same issue with the trout. A nice piece of fish that was overwhelmed by the complexity of the dish. The only diner at our table that enjoyed their dinner ordered a house salad and a simple flatbread. We'll still be regulars at Chrysalis, though we'll hope on return visits that they return to a focus on their fresh quality ingredients being more simply prepared. For now, advising that to enjoy your experience at Chrysalis these days, you are best off finding the simplest preparation on the menu that appeals. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for years! Make sure you get reservations early, because they fill up fast. As you walk in you feel the vibe! Every table is filled, and people waiting at the door! Then you breath in the flavorful smells of Italy! The only complaint, is that it is very loud here. Started off with a few drinks, Old Fashioned, April Spritz, and a "The Closing Argument" all very good. For an appetizer we created a Piatto, charcuterie board, you must do this! Now this is cool, they have a Piatto Menu, and you can pick and choose from 24 items to put on your board. We picked some items and then ask our waiter Brenner to make some recommendations. Also, we ordered Bread for Two. This was perfect for 4 people. For entrees we ordered, Pesto Brenner Style (our Waiter) which included Chicken and Mozzarella, that was Amazing! Also ordered Saltimbocca, Vodka Diavolo and one other pasta dish, all very good! Save room for Dessert! We got Tiramisu, Classic, soooo good! Then the Affogato al Caffe... this is a must have, salted Carmel gelato, then pour a double shot of espresso over top!!!! Crazy Good! Then the Bread Pudding comes in third. We had a delightful Italian dinner date here last week and I am still dreaming about the Rosemary loaf from the Bread for Two and the Caesar salad. The Vodka Diavolo pasta brought the heat and spice, we really enjoyed it and I was so grateful they didn't skimp on shrimp and would have loved more mushrooms! The penne is housemade and phenomenal. Very disappointed! It was not real pasta. Nor real sauce or real meatballs...sauce was from a can probably pre-made...meatballs? I couldn't find or taste the meat, garlic or herbs on it ...just breadcrumb paste with something else! Spaghetti? Well looks homemade..but obviously the apprentice didn't learn the technique yet! He creates a new type of Spaghetti...short spaghetti Very short cutted with a knife...(that's a sin!) But the worst part of all was "the cheese" from kroger brand probably...not even real cheese! We had such a great time here on a double date with some friends! I found their take on Italian cuisine to be fresh and vibrant. The service was great. Our waitress was always ready with refills and was so nice. We got the shareable bread and it was such a nice little app to get things started. This is our favorite spot whenever we are in Franklin. The food is food. I've had the albedo, the mushroom appetizer and the eggplant appetizer. The ceasar salad was also good. I could do without the charcuterie as it's a bit pricey, but overall it's the drinks for me! Every one of the drinks I've had have been superb and we've had quite a few. And all the cocktails are more than reasonably priced. I'm happy to have found this gem. read more
