I ordered a flatbread and they killed it. Like overcooked. Dried out. Hard. I have broken my teeth before eating out before and i had to give up and just pick topping off with a fork. Exceptional food, intriguing selection and quality you could taste in everything that came to our table. Their charcuterie menu was extensive and surprisingly affordable. The honey goat cheese was especially amazing. Not pretentious at all, just authentically good. Although it's a strip-mall space the design was comfortable and elegant. We had dinner and will be repeat customers. The service was excellent and everyone that served us did it with such care you got the impression everyone on staff was an owner. Very cute modern Italian tucked into a strip mall in Franklin TN. The staff is super kind and knowledgeable about the menu. Cocktails are fantastic and the small bites are delicious. The pasta was extremely al dente but the sauce did have a good flavor. The only thing that was really memorable was the eggplant dish and the drinks. Good food, pretty restaurant, good service. Came here to enjoy a date night and left very impressed. Service was fantastic, the inside is decorated so well, and the food was all great. The caesar salad was delicious and the small size was perfect to share when combined with other plates. The meatballs were very good, but I'd probably skip them and try something else next time. The shrimp bruschetta was a delicious combination to behold. The star of the show was the thin crust hot honey flatbread. Absolutely amazing taste and it was pretty spicy (not too spicy but the right amount for us). To cap the night we enjoyed the tiramisu which was large and tasted just like the few we've tried when in Italy. A new menu, but a lack of execution, the Salmon in the Salmone al Limone and chicken in the Saltimbocca were both overdone. The house pasta is served quite al dente, but can be order more done. The Mussels are in an excellent sauce and there are a lot of them. The Tiramisu is a large portion and delicious. The wine list is short but diverse and there is a full bar. My department at work came here one night as a team dinner. I first need to shout out to the service staff. I don't know if they were expecting our table of 8, another table of about 8, another table about 12 or so, plus a handful of parties with 2-4 people. There were only 2 servers, but I barely noticed as we were really enjoying our food and conversation. I ate the braised short rib. Sadly the charred broccolini was way too charred and there was something off about the mashed Yukon... can't put my finger on it. I liked the short rib while my friend found it too tough. We both regret not getting pasta. All my colleagues who got pasta loved it. Check my photos for all the variety at the table. The desserts were amazing! The tiramisu was bigger than my hand and about 3" thick! I got the peanut bitter cheesecake which was kind of "deconstructed" which I found quite enjoyable. For apps we got the mussels, burrata and the margherita flatbread. We'd skip the mussels next time but the flatbread and the burrata were amazing! Our favorite was the burrata. Different from anything we've ever tried and so tasty! For mains we got the Vodka Diavolo Pasta and the Bolognese Pasta. We picked the house made fettuccine to go with the sauces. Both were perfect. The Vodka sauce is a little spicy but very flavorful. The bolognese was sweet and savory. Our server was very kind welcoming. Chrysalis: talk about outstanding customer service and amazing food. This place wins hands down. Absolutely loved all the starters, the burrata, flat bread and egg plant dish. The fettuccine pasta with Alfredo that I had was good. My husband had the vodka pasta , and the spicy kick to it was amazing. Tiramisu was exceptional. Had an amazing dinner with impeccable service from Phylicia! She spaced out our meal perfectly and was very tentative. We had the mussels and scampi bruschetta to start. I could've had two more orders of it they were so good. I had the Lamb Osso Bucco as my entree and it transported me back to my Italian Grandmother's house with the wonderful flavors! Phylicia recommended the Affogato Al Cafe for dessert and it was to die for! Ordered the bread for two, consisted of homemade focaccia and an Italian type roll with seasoned olive oil and herb butter; so delicious! Ordered the Hot honey flatbread, had just enough heat with a slight sweetness, also delicious. The whipped goat cheese salad had a beautiful presentation and wonderful combination of flavors. I ordered the Melanzana which is an eggplant fried with sauce and condiments but it was a miss. The eggplant was undercooked, thus hard to chew. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu and it was delicious as well. Overall the experience was superior minus the one dish. My daughter and I initially had lunch here. We picked out an array of tasty items for a board app. I had a meatball sub and she ordered the house made pasta . We had a dessert that was delicious . She was delighted with this place she searched and found through Yelp on my phone . We finally brought mom and older sister here . Service was friendly and attentive. Our waitress was so attentive and friendly and she blessed us with a free dessert for our anniversary! We chose the bread pudding and it was divine! I also ordered a latte and it was made perfectly. The waitress told us the coffee beans they use are roasted locally in Nolensville. The restaurant was very clean and the overall theme and decor was beautiful. The piatto plate (building your own charcuterie plate) has some great options. All the cheeses, meats, olives and apricot jam were delicious. We had the house salad to share and it was great. One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, tonight was not excellent. Started with the Floralia- refreshing but a bit tart for my taste. They Jo longer had the Tuscan Kale salad on the menu so went with the halibut over orzo-- delicious but could have been better with half the amount of capers. Chrysalis has been one of our favorite Franklin restaurants since we moved to the area a few years ago. It's still a pleasant welcoming space with friendly helpful staff. But it suffers more these days from a case of overachieving chef syndrome. We tried several of the chef's features on the new winter menu, the osso bucco and the trout. The osso bucco was nicely cooked, tender fall off the bone chunks from two small bones. But the pleasant roast was overwhelmed with a complex plate of cheesy polenta, stewed kale and tomato gravy. A table mate had the same issue with the trout. A nice piece of fish that was overwhelmed by the complexity of the dish. The only diner at our table that enjoyed their dinner ordered a house salad and a simple flatbread. We'll still be regulars at Chrysalis, though we'll hope on return visits that they return to a focus on their fresh quality ingredients being more simply prepared. For now, advising that to enjoy your experience at Chrysalis these days, you are best off finding the simplest preparation on the menu that appeals. read more

I have been wanting to try this place for years! Make sure you get reservations early, because they fill up fast. As you walk in you feel the vibe! Every table is filled, and people waiting at the door! Then you breath in the flavorful smells of Italy! The only complaint, is that it is very loud here. Started off with a few drinks, Old Fashioned, April Spritz, and a "The Closing Argument" all very good. For an appetizer we created a Piatto, charcuterie board, you must do this! Now this is cool, they have a Piatto Menu, and you can pick and choose from 24 items to put on your board. We picked some items and then ask our waiter Brenner to make some recommendations. Also, we ordered Bread for Two. This was perfect for 4 people. For entrees we ordered, Pesto Brenner Style (our Waiter) which included Chicken and Mozzarella, that was Amazing! Also ordered Saltimbocca, Vodka Diavolo and one other pasta dish, all very good! Save room for Dessert! We got Tiramisu, Classic, soooo good! Then the Affogato al Caffe... this is a must have, salted Carmel gelato, then pour a double shot of espresso over top!!!! Crazy Good! Then the Bread Pudding comes in third.
