My dad and I went to Mineo's for lunch. We each ordered a pizza as we wanted leftovers. I had the pepperoni, hot honey pizza with fresh basil and ricotta. It was fabulous. I also ordered the small house salad. I would estimate it was at least a 4 cup salad. The ingredients were fresh, and I never saw a shred of iceberg lettuce. Definitely recommend it and will go back again at my first opportunity. The service was prompt and friendly. My only issue was the Tea tasted stale to me. Stopped at this spot by my hotel for lunch while my son was at a nearby wrestling camp. I didn't know what to expect from the outside. Looked like a basic pizza joint. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the inside atmosphere. While definitely a pizza joint, it had a cool local vibe and super friendly and prompt service. There is a selection of eight drafts on tap and wine. I ordered a cold, refreshing draft as I decided on my on my order. Despite the "Best Pizza" awards on the wall, I ordered a calzone. Wow!!!! If their pizza is anywhere near the goodness and quality of the calzone, I can understand why it is award winning. Overall great experience. I tip my hat to the mom and son duo that owns the place. We were looking for a sports bar to watch the Wisconsin Michigan State men's BB game and came across Mineo's. It has a small street presence so didn't know what to expect. Once inside we found a cozy ma and pa pizza joint with great food and plenty of TVs. Place is nicely decorated with sports art and family pictures. Brandan was our host/server. Told him we were there for the duration and wanted to pace our meal. He let us pick a table and a tv, and we were off and running. The place has about 12-15 tables with red and white checked tablecloths. We started with the Antipasto Salad. It was large and loaded with all kinds of cheese, meats, veggies. A creamy vinaigrette dressing came on the side. The salad could have served 4. Also ordered the 6 piece garlic knots with marinara. Delicious. I know it's just bread, but we were hungry. At the half we ordered the small hand tossed Hippie Pizza with added pepperoni. The pizza crust was thin and crispy. It was also delicate which made us think the dough was made with love. Tomatoes, chicken, pesto and mozzarella rounded out the toppings. Brandon gave us great service and catered to all needs. We even talked a little BB. We often judge a place by the quality of the food. The food today was very good. We also judge places by the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the decor. Mineo's bathrooms were immaculate. You could eat off the floor. The decor, with a strong family representation was, warm and friendly. Highly recommend without any reservations. We went to Mineo's twice this weekend and unfortunately had a bad experience both times. We came Friday night and were told the wait for our food would be approximately 50 minutes to an hour. The place was packed, and none of the customers seemed to have their food.. We decided to leave and give it another try. We came back on Sunday night. The place was much less full, but we were told by our server that the kitchen was backed up and it might take a while to get our order. We got our pizza one hour and 17 minutes later. The servers were young, but great and very apologetic. Not sure if this is a norm, but I don't think we would be willing to give it another try. The pizza was good, but unfortunately nothing special. The place is nice. otherwise so I hope they get this straightened out. They provide some trivia cards at each table which kept us entertained for a while, but just not ideal to spend that long waiting on a pepperoni pizza. Meanwhile, lots of pizzas going out the door via takeout. There didn't seem to be an adult on site, all the servers were really young, so I'm not sure who was running the operation but maybe they can learn to better manage inside and outside orders. read more

We wanted to love this place! The last two times we tried dining here, we ended up walking out. It seems to be understaffed with young employees who just don't seem to care enough. Both times, we weren't greeted and were completely ignored the whole time we were there. One server bused a table next to us and didn't even say hi or be right with you. I love eating local, and I love supporting local businesses. However, I cannot get behind paying $30 for a two topping large pizza that I have to pickup (no delivery option). Called in a 2 topping order, they told us it would be 20 to 25 minutes. after about 40 minutes, it was finally done and the bill was nearly $28 before tip. All said and done $30 for one pizza. No thanks. I also called them one time for a large (50 1 topping pizzas) order for our neighborhood (that again I would pick up). Gave them a couple weeks advance notice too. After explaining to me that this would require them to bring in additional labor for the day, etc. they essentially offered me 5% off the full price menu. I ended up going down the street for literally 1/3 the price. Not going to name other businesses or disparage anybody, but that's just not competitive. read more
