Great old school dive bar in rapidly changing area. Limited but decent menu. Had the grilled cheese and it was superb. Live music and sports on TV. Eclectic & diverse crowd.

Great place for a local drink, some call it a dive bar but think "bar with character" is more fitting!! I was leading a local "first name" bar crawl (Betty's, Dino's, Bobby's, Roberts ... ) and this was #1 of, eee gads, 9 for the day. Note Uber was definitely in play! So back to Betty's: Great vibe, bartender and all folks at the bar super nice. He insisted on bringing our beers to the table each round and the regulars were fun to chat with - about 8 scattered around which is pretty good for 10am on a Sunday, video bowling was in play and sports in many of the Tv's. Lots of positives: Plenty of parking in front and around bar, good price on pitchers, food, possibly sports gambling avail if you know who to talk to and pretty bright clean place to hang out and watch a game or just chill.

From the outside it look sketchy, and alittle run down. How ever this is a decent place. A lot of talent performed tonight. Definitely away from the tourist scene. The crown was ranging from young hipsters to middle aged locals wanting to hear good music. The service is alittle slow, but all in all a good place away from the crowd in Nashville. Don't forget to bring cash! That's all they accept.

The cheeseburger was genuinely the best I've had in weeks, and I've had one at Bobbie's Dairy Dip recently, so that's really saying something.

The atmosphere was really cool, though we chose to sit outside since it was a little dark and loud inside. The pizza was the real standout -- easily better than 95% of the pizza spots in Nashville, and I say that as someone who eats pizza at least once a week. The pies are huge, and the buttery flavor in the cheese makes them absolutely incredible. I'll definitely be back, and this place will probably become a regular spot for my son and me.

I had the frozen jalapeño peach margarita and I can't recommend it enough!! It was genuinely perfect. They also had a fun lineup in the frozen machine, including a Transfusion, frosé, and a frozen espresso martini. We grabbed a couple slices (cheese and pepperoni), and both were exactly what you want for a late-night slice. I'll definitely be back to try more...the specialty pies look AMAZING. The "Sweet Heat" with honey and jalapeños is already at the top of my list. The bartenders checked on us often and answered any questions we had. I loved the covered patio and open atmosphere. There's plenty of seating and TVs to catch a game as well. It's a great place for a good drink and solid late night slice!

The dog bowl looked a little more rugged than I recalled and I sat about looking for the picture of my friend (and possibly me) that was on the wall. It wasn't visible, but I also wasn't spending a lot of time looking as it was my wife's birthday and we've both been talking about getting our birthday bowl of beer at the villager for over a decade and then never managing to do it. It's ever so slightly different without the thick layer of smoke that reminds you that you're dying just by breathing there, but still a gem that's nestled in a spot you'd never expect... bougie store, bougie store, art house movie theater, bougie store, the Villager... one of these things is not like the other, and it's great. My crew has long since passed from the place, it's a bunch of pictures of people who were my age up now when I served my time at the joint. It's been one of my favorite places to know it exists, even if I haven't been there in forever.

I am certain that the hotdogs made are made to perfection, with the Kani and/or Dog for a Cause being the ones my wife and I chose, pairing well with our drinks Customer Service: Exceptional service, expectations exceeded. Our bartender and chef, Mike W., went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and catered to our needs in order to having the best experience here at Connie's Price: Approximately $59.28, not including tip for 2 people. Located in the back of the old Cafe Coco (RIP) and attached to new all-day hangout Verna, Connie's brings that quintessential dive bar vibe, but with really tasty food and some nicer drink options. I've been a few times now and I'm struck by how much I've missed having a chill, no-frills hangout spot in West/Midtown. It's wood-paneled and dark, there's ample seating (ideal for groups) but also a fun place to come solo. Since it's open late night, also very clutch to come before/after a show at Exit/In (which is right in front of this bar). Very affordable for Nashville: $13 cocktails ($9 at happy hour), $5-9 beers, and hot dogs for $6-8. For drinks, it leans towards classic cocktails, wine and beer with a few fun sneaky twists tossed in. The Yoo Hoo Espresso martini is one of those absolute sneaky hits, so dangerously tasty you are unlikely to have just one. I also loved the Gold Rush (banger flavors, expertly made like a craft cocktail, but in a dive bar setting!) A mix of high and low brow beers (the black peppercorn beer is a MUST), and some tasty NA drinks, including a CBD seltzer that was such a nice, refreshing sipper for a low-key night. The food menu keeps it simple but FUN: hot dogs with creative, Japanese-inspired toppings because who doesn't want a late night delicious hot dog? You can get a choice of vegan or classic hot dog and then all the fun Asian toppings. The Kani Dog is the crowd favorite: crab Rangoon dip topped and very filling. My personal favorite is the Tokyo Dog, which is Japanese bbq sauce, kewpie, bonito, togarashi, and sesame. You can get a side of Zapp's chips and they also have that dreamy crab Rangoon dip as an appetizer with crackers! Connie's is brought to us by the team that made Bay 6 (also RIP) so special and a true local hang with excellent, feels-like-hanging-out-with-friends hospitality and attentive service. They are also putting on some fun programming, bringing back one of my all-time-favorite hangouts from Bag 6 - Monday Adult Coloring Night (think Bob Ross vibes with colored pencils and a bevvy, drawing on the bar!) Wednesday nights promise "Bar Fight Trivia," and I'm sure more fun to come. This is absolutely the kind of spot the Rock Block has been missing. Connie's nails that balance of good drinks, cheap food, and a no-frills, friendly hangout. Excited to make this a regular spot!

The lighting, furniture, and wallpaper all come together perfectly and give the space a really stylish but comfortable vibe. There's also plenty of room inside, which makes it easy to relax without feeling cramped. Now let's talk about the food... because wow. We started with the fried pickles and they were some of the best I've had. The dipping sauce wasn't your typical ranch (I forgot to ask what it was), but whatever magic they put in it worked it was absolutely delicious. Then we moved on to the burgers. We tried the Juicy Burger and it truly lives up to the name. Every single bite was worth it. I personally had the Jalapeño Burger and let me tell you... get ready for some heat. If you're not used to spicy food, this one might test your limits. But the flavor was incredible. You could really taste that the burger was grilled, and it gave it that perfect smoky, savory flavor that makes a great burger stand out. The drinks were also fantastic. They have a huge selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. I had one of their mezcal cocktails and it was bartender's kiss. I also tried a couple of their spirits and everything was on point. Another thing I really appreciated was the noise level. There's music playing, but it's not overwhelming, you can still actually have a conversation without yelling across the table. That's always a win. They also have a nice outdoor patio if you want to sit outside. We went during the week, so it was lively but comfortable. I can only imagine this place really gets going on the weekends. If you're in town and looking for amazing food, great drinks, and a cool atmosphere, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.
