Our favorite place in Nashville we go to all the time. Great music, amazing food. We always bring our out of town visitors when they come and they love it.

On our way traveling to Nashville, we met someone that lived in Nashville. He gave us a couple of recommendations and to go to The Local and have a hamburger was one of his recommendations. We also went here since it's close to Vanderbilt and we were going to a baseball game later in the afternoon. There were other good visitors there and we had a wonderful waitress. Hamburger was good and country singer was good too. Indoor and outdoor seating.

We hit the local for happy hour this week on Friday. First time in and what a great spot. Live music, cold beverages and some solid bar food! The wings were very good, as well had the grilled Chicken sandwich blackened, and the smoked pork nachos. Most everything was made in house from the fries to the bleu cheese dressing. Our server did a nice job. Plenty of street and paid parking available

Mixed gender handwashing-mirror station. Hard pass.

I get that if you don't have special needs and like beer, this place might be a great fit for you. We really liked the musician who was playing. It was great to be able to find live music at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. I have a dairy allergy and there were no substitutions or accommodations offered when I asked if the chicken tenders had dairy. The waitress didn't even check with the kitchen. She said she thought it might, and that was that. So I didn't order any food. This is the first time that this has happened at any restaurant in Nashville. I get that the bathroom vibe was supposed to be fun and thematic, but it personally makes me uncomfortable to be touching up my lipstick standing shoulder-to-shoulder with men washing their hands in the bathroom. I prefer the usual comfort of a ladies room to a communal bathroom handwashing/mirror space. Also, I was with a diner who uses a cane and the seating was mostly bar stools. While I'm not a fan of bar stools, the only seating that worked for him was a bench that he had to kind of climb up to use. He then had to grab a second bar stool to use as a foot support. No assistance was provided by staff. When my fellow diner asked the waitress to tip the musician $20 for him so he wouldn't have to climb down and use his cane to get up to the stage, she was not happy about the imposition. If he'd been able to be seated at a table out on the floor in a chair, we wouldn't have imposed. Finally, I ordered a Moscow Mule and it tasted like an artificially sweet, pre-packaged mix was used, instead of a ginger beer. I get that people probably come here for beers and not mixed drinks...but wanted to flag this particular drink for others. We had originally planned to order a lot more, and to stay a lot longer, but left because it was such a mis-match for both of our needs.

Obsessed. Love the local music and the overall vibe of the local. A friend of ours recommended this spot for our trip and it did not disappoint. We went first on a Monday and saw and incredible duo and then an amazing group. It was relatively quiet and we got a table easily. We went back on Wednesday for the Music Row Freakshow and it was packed. We were lucky to find a couple stools at the bar. All the musicians were amazing. Bonus points for great food - salmon was delish and so was the pulled pork sandwich. This place will def be a spot we continue to visit when back in Nashville.

PROS: amazing food, good size menu, fair prices, live music, and it's spacious. Food came out fast and they have both outdoor and indoor seating CONS: they don't answer the phone, there's nobody to seat us or tell us to take our own table, and the waiter ignored us till I asked him to come over OVERALL: you'll like the food and vibe there but if you go just be mindful that hospitality isn't their strong suit

I'm so glad we went to The Local for drinks and music. It was super packed on Friday night, but soon found seats at the bar. I enjoyed local beer, pulled pork sandwich served with fries, which was pretty good. The fries were thick cut and crispy. The service was prompt and friendly, the bar tender made some beer suggestions that were spot on. The best part was listening to local and nearby musicians. The time between musicians is brief, which is a plus as the music is constant. The Local was a fun experience!

"Come a Stranger and Leave a Local" is their motto. This motto has made me come back every time I'm in Nashville. There is literally, not one thing on the menu that isn't absolutely fantastic! I am showcasing their Blackened Salmon with veggies (pretty much my Go-To dinner option for me)...it's hard to beat! The service and the ambiance is absolutely incredible. Everyone is extraordinarily friendly and a MUST when you're visiting Nashville! There is a 1001 places to go to...TRUE...But There is None that match The Local to us. I hope you find it as welcoming and fun as much as we do! The talent at this music venue is by far (for Me) the best in town;-)

Stopped in at the recommendation of hotel staff. Holy cow - we came ready to have a couple of burgers but filled up on the nachos. This is a great local bar with friendly service and outstanding music. We will be back!

A fun place to grab a drink and a burger after a long day. Live music was cool. Local singer-songwriters on a random Tuesday. They have a patio as well.

First visit in years, understandable why this Local Hot Spot has stood the tests of time against newer establishments. Great Ambiance, kinda like your local neighborhood pub. Service from Lauren was On Point and the FOOD! Huge portions and so flavorful. Live music from 4pm till 2am on the Saturday Night we visited. Worth every bit of effort to get there

    Three beers and a cheers.

Ice cold beer and live music. What else could you ask for. Great service. I did not order any food. But the plates being delivered to other guest looked delicious and smelled amazing!!

Ask the Community - The Local

    Is the local 21+?

    18-up unless with parent.

Does The Local take reservations? Are there any tables that have chairs with backs or is all the seating bar stools? (Looking at taking grandparents here but need chairs with backs and not stools)

Not sure about reservations, but there were chairs with backs. They had a mix of seating, inside-outside, bench, bar stools, high tables, and in the middle of the room were normal restaurant style tables and chairs.

If you are up for a full dinner, the food is second to none. For many years I went to hear the great John Johnthis, and was so excited to hear that Terrific Terri is now holding down the fort. The first time I heard Terri play and sing was at a wonderful restaurant in Green Hills -- since gone the way of all flesh. I told Terri after the show "I'll bet your parents were shocked when you came into the world White and Blonde." (She told me later that was the finest compliment she had ever received.) Of course, I said that, because she covers Dionne Warrick like no one I have ever hear, and get's down on the Blues. It is hard to say whether Terri is a better singer or jazz pianist. She is simply terrific at both. Terri has a great personality and talks to the audience between tunes, which is both enlightening and entertaining. So I am awarding V'Lounge Five Stars and look forward to my next vist.
