Then I had another couple, one as is, one subbing mezcal for tequila. Both great. As I has sat there looking at their selection of spirits I wondered if they had the ingredients to make my favorite tiki cocktail. I asked, Alex delivered. It had been six years since I had that cocktail and, while not having 100% of the ingredients, it was so damn close that it took me right back to the where and when I last drank it. Now that I know they can make it, I will be returning on a regular basis. This is a great dark and intimate location to bring a date or come solo. Great ambiance! I love a unique bar with some history. Drinks were well-crafted and delicious. We had a fun time and got a break from the typical bar scene. The bartenders and server were pleasant and drinks came up relatively quick. It is on the pricier side but that's the price you pay for a unique experience. One thing that I really didn't like is that our server didn't mention that auto gratuity (20%) is included on the bill. I always tip 20%+ even for mediocre service BUT I fully believe that when there is auto gratuity you should tell the patron or you're being a bit deceptive. We all added 20%+ on top of the existing 20% already and then had to adjust it when one of my friends thought her total was a bit high and pointed out the added gratuity. I went here with a friend for a mini reunion during a weekday happy hour. The reviews are definitely true about the ambiance: gorgeous, industrial, high ceilings with a slightly hush-hush, Prohibition feel. I would say speak-easy exactly, because I've been a few that land flawlessly on that exact atmosphere in other cities. However, on a sunny afternoon, the dimly lit and jovial atmosphere borrows a bit from a neighborhood pub (considering I've heard it's packed to the gills on the weekend. Wouldn't advise that.) My one tiny suggestion is to consider the pour for the bar. I had a drink they poured by the bottle (believe it was an ale but I might be mistaken), and my friend and I were pretty confused. It was barely half the glass. Given the steep prices here (inflated by Edgehill renting), the drink was still expensive even by happy hour prices. We still had a lovely time, and perhaps the onus was on me to simply ask the bartender a question about amount. Maybe the glass was just really big? I say totally worth it for the weekday happy hour vibes so long as you develop good rapport with your barkeep. Parking is mostly street with a paid lot near Warby. Old Glory is one of the coolest bars I've ever been to. The music is good, the service is good, and the drinks are good. All in all, this is a solid spot. The staff was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations, and of course were very friendly. My only gripe with it is that it is a bit on the pricier side. You are paying for the ambiance and atmosphere 100%. To give an idea of what I spent, it was about $38 for two cocktails after the automatic 20% gratuity. I know a flashlight could ruin the ambiance but honestly, I was a little uncomfortable. Even though it was a Friday night, we were given a choice of seats. We opted for the bar, up another flight of dark stairs. We were overlooking the entire venue. I thought it was actually pretty neat. A QR code showed the menu. The custom cocktails baffled me a little. I didn't know what a lot of the ingredients were but I was anxious to find out. Here's where our visit screeched to a halt. I was with an old friend. Places like this are foreign to her - she's new to this lifestyle - newly single, first time empty nester after 4 kids, still working full time and very, very (extremely) conservative. She said she was uncomfortable there so we left. Luckily service was snail like slow so we hadn't ordered yet. Old Glory is actually more than we anticipated. It is located in an old brick building that used to house steam cleaning equipment. The vaulted ceilings, industrial equipment, old tiles, and red bricks really scream prohibition era. As we entered through the door marked only with a gold triangle, it really felt like stepping back in time. We were greeted by the host on a landing overlooking the huge space and led to bar stools on the second level. Our waitresses were both very personable and checked on us at appropriate times. The craft cocktails menu has quite a few choices. The descriptions provide just enough information to keep your drink choices adventurous. I had a rye cocktail called Big Sun. It was smooth. I love all of the cocktails and have enjoyed quite a few here over the years. If you like nice cocktails in a dramatic setting, this is a great option. If you want to impress your date, look no further. They are located in a building that was once used as the boiler room for an industrial sized laundry, which creates an incredibly unique atmosphere that offers up numerous different spaces for you to enjoy. The entrance is a bit hard to find, so put it into your GPS and look for the black door with the gold triangle painted around it. There are comfy booths downstairs, seating at the bar, and behind the bar, there are stairs that go up two levels with views overlooking the space below. You enter and go down a beautiful spiral staircase into a dimly lit area with high ceilings and loud music setting a great tone. They do offer food, which was delicious, but it's more amouse bouche sized, it's not somewhere you could have an entire dinner. When we visited the extent of the options were two sandwiches, essentially high class grilled cheeses, one of which had mozarella, pesto, and red chilies, while the other was more traditional. They are small and $8, but as I mentioned, they are great. Perfect snacks to enjoy so you don't drink on an empty stomach. With the food out of the way, we sampled some of their cocktails. They have a big list of classics and signatures. If you're a fan of boozy, simple drinks, one of the staples is called the Panther Panther, which is your choice of spirit served over a big, house-made coffee ice cube. Coffee ice cubes are as magical and delicious as they sound, and as the drink mellowed, it grew in flavor. I tried one with southern amaro, which was perfect, though aged rum was a great choice as well. They also make a top notch old fashioned. If you like fruitier drinks, they have those as well. Went to Old Glory during a recent vacation with friends and we loved it! Some even said it was their favorite bar of the whole trip. We were at a place around the corner and decided to check OG out too. It was a little hard to find, but if you see a door with a yellow painted triangle around it then you're there. It's located in an old historic boiler room with massive ceilings. You can really feel the history and age of the place when you're there. It's a little dark, but it added to the cool atmosphere. It felt a bit like a speakeasy. The waiter was great. No complaints. All the drinks were top notch. Our favorites were the In Bloom and Emily's Salty Dog. I don't have a copy of the drink menu, nor my check, to confirm if it states a 20% gratuity would be added to all checks no matter party size. It's pretty dark in there, so menus and tabs are hard to read. After putting a candle near the check in this very dark speakeasy, I saw that a line near the total stated an added gratuity. It wasn't verbalized, so I almost added a tip on top of it. We all know the restaurant industry got hit hard with Covid. I worked in the industry almost all my life. I've heard dozens and dozens of people complain that some businesses appear to be taking advantage of customers by adding at least a 20% gratuity to all sorts of orders. I'm just in total disbelief that a GM would actually come out and state it very clearly to me that we, as consumers, must foot the bill because the wages paid by their employers are not enough to compensate them. read more

Love this bar! We only had one drink and then headed out, but I loved the vibe and look of this place. Apparently, it used to be an old laundromat company? There is food served here, most sandwiches, but the real reason to come here is for the bar and deep cocktail menu.
