We had the best time with all the other Steelers fans. The Terrible Towels were flying, Black and Yellow was playing and there were plenty of people wearing their Steelers attire. For food, I enjoyed their chicken fajita quesadilla. It was filled with chicken, red peppers and onions. This is great sports bar with wall to wall tv's. We went on a Sunday and were lucky enough to get a table. A Pittsburgh Steelers game was featured. There was a lot of black and gold present, "Go Steelers". Our group ordered wings quesadillas and sandwiches. Then we ordered drinks. They have a limited selection of craft beers. Several were quite good however they did not have any dark beers on draft. So i drank a red ale that was flavourful. We got our food and it all looked good. Upon eating we agreed it tasted good too. Not only do they make amazing drinks, but they also have the best personalities! They are friendly, talented, and make everyone feel like regulars. After living in Nashville for a couple of years now, I am just now starting to become a patron of Live Oak thanks to my Florida State Seminoles! Located in Midtown just off of Music Row, Live Oak is a true sports bar with a plethora of TV's, long bars and even a stage for live music, because Nashville. Live Oak served as the local FSU spot on Saturdays this fall and I was in house as many times as possible, and for the most part, loved it. We normally came for drinks and football, but on occasion would grab some food. The food offerings are your basic bar foods such as burgers, chips and dips, wings, quesadillas, etc...along with a few items like tacos, pastas and even a pita. We always go wings, pretzels or queso. All hit the spot each time! Service is always solid here. It can be a bit disjointed when the place gets super busy, so be prepared to wait for a bit. But this is not something new for Nashville bars. Seating is first come first serve, so if you are headed in for a game, make sure to give yourself plenty of time. If not, then standing room only and becoming a table vulture is in your future! Live Oak does not have dedicated parking, but there are a few pay lots nearby. Overall, Live Oak is a solid spot that I happy to support and visit! Go Noles! read more

Ehh. We wanted to go out for dinner but didn't feel like waiting in line. We decided to try one of the few places that were near our hotel. They check ids when you walk in, and you have to order drinks and food at the bar before finding a seat. Thankfully we were there at a good time and didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered the chicken nachos and the Tennessee IPA, my friend ordered the quesadilla and a beer. The nachos were very dry. It barely had any cheese and the chicken was canned chicken which made the nachos a bit soggy. My friend didn't care for her quesadillas either since they were lacking spices. We didn't finish our food. It this place did have specials and the game playing. This is a good spot for grabbing a drink and watching the game. read more

Stood at the bar (not at a peak time, there was almost nobody else near me) and had to wait about 10 minutes for a bartender to acknowledge me. During this 10 minutes I was actively waving to the bartender and trying to get his attention, but he was talking to his friends. Finally got served and for the remainder of the night made sure to try to find a different bartender. BUT the food was good and the music was great. Nice place to go with friends and chill. ALSO! The bartender was very nice and helpful once I went to her when we realized there wasn't a waitress. We decided on pretzel sticks with cheese, and we both enjoyed the pretzels and the cheese. They came out warm and the cheese was the right consistency and cheesiness. We also had the chips with salsa and Queso. The chips were average and the salsa was ok if you like spicy. It was pretty spicy. The Queso wasn't very warm but had a good flavor. The three performers were all good singers. Overall, we liked the atmosphere and had a nice time while there. read more

To clear things up, this is a BAR. 21 and older. People go there to drink, watch sports or listen to live music. There is no table service. They do service food and it will be delivered to your table. The music usually isn't someone doing covers, this is original music. The sound system is pretty good quality. The bartenders are friendly and speedy. They cover a lot of bar surface. I ordered the soft pretzels with cheese. They were delicious. The tables were bussed quickly. Overall very clean. ID's are checked as you go in. This saves the bartenders a lot of time. read more

Never one to waste anything, the hubby decided that since we had an hour left of our prepaid parking - he wasn't about to lose it, darn it. (Not quite his phrasing...) We heard the live music emanating from Live Oak's open door and decided that we'd investigate a little further. The group on stage was various songwriters, telling the stories behind their songs. Some stories were funny, some poignant and, with what you might expect with country music, some were sad. Either way, it was quite good entertainment. The drink special was $3 Busch Light cans. I guess I've become a craft beer IPA snob but I bit anyway and ordered an icy cold can. Now I remember why I don't drink Busch Light, but, for 3 bucks in this 10 buck a beer town, it was a cheap way to get a buzz on. There was also a food menu on the bar - It was pretty basic - the menu seemed more like an afterthought, and honestly, I don't think I saw a single person with food at their table. So good entertainment, cheap beer, how can this not be a five star rating? The set up of the room was just too odd - the large bar is in the center of the room so only half of the tables could see the entertainers. The room was packed on one side yet empty on the other. I always enjoyed the old location, and must admit I was skeptical when I heard they were taking over the old dawghouse. I thought changing locations would take away the charm of the original venue, but I was wrong. They did such a beautiful Job renovating the space. The bartenders were quick and friendly. I just started coming here since they host the Nashville Seminole Club, and I'm impressed. Their fish tacos are good and so are their waffle fries. I've also had an order of their fried mushrooms which have the perfect amount of spice. Considering how packed it gets during the games, the service is halfway decent. Heads up though, if you don't like cream cheese stay away from the cheese balls they're heavy on the cheese but still really good especially with the sauce. read more

I had dinner on music row and walked up to live oak with my take out box and wanted to come in to have some drinks and enjoy some music. I was not allowed in with my small box of food that was going home with me. the place had barely anyone in it. I wanted to have drinks. Tip the bartender.
