Went here for lunch with colleagues. We sat outside with the weather being perfect. The waitstaff was super friendly . Very knowledgeable of the menu and the slight differences in the rolls. We were focused on Eel rolls. Each of us ordered 2 rolls each. It was pretty fast actually. Sushi was as good as expected. Nobody got sick. I always say that after sushi. We will be back! read more

Great food and karma. Josh and Ellen are top notch managers and they have put together a fantastic stff. Half the fun of eating out is great service. And Blue Sushi always provides great service. The staff are young with fun and engaging personalities. They aim to please. And they interact with guests like humans....not people who only communicate by text or email. They are real and fun to deal with and every single one of them has positive energy. I love this place and eat there for lunch weekly. You won't go wrong. read more

Recently came here with a few friends to celebrate a birthday and we were all very happy with the all-around experience! The drinks (both alcohol and non-alcohol) were beautiful, delicious and unique. The sushi rolls (I believe we all tried 7 different rolls total) were all delicious, unique and fresh -- rivaling the quality of sushi I've eaten in places like Hawaii and southern CA! Their charred edamame appetizer was also amazing. We were there early enough on a Friday evening to also get to enjoy Happy Hour pricing on a lot of items, so that was a plus. The ambiance is fun and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and they have both outdoor and indoor seating options! They do take reservations, there are multiple parking lots for this and the surrounding restaurants, and there is a park area (with dessert options if you've still got stomach space!) right across the street. Overall, I will be going back and I would highly recommend to any sushi lover!! read more

Great weekday happy hour! Went with coworkers after work and it was a great vibe. Cocktails were delicious (highly recommend the China Doll - I've been thinking about it since I got home!) I have celiac and was pleased that they had a gluten free menu! Everyone liked their sushi. Service was a bit slow/inattentive but not horrible at all. Great outdoor seating as well! read more

The sushi itself is 3 stars in regards as quality and quantity. Everything else is great = drinks, happy hour (all day on Sun) service, all other non-sushi items (brussel sprouts, calamari, dessert egg rolls). Pricing is also nice (well coming from CA--so it is all relative). Would come back if in town again. read more

My family and I have come here for happy hour a few times and it's been a good experience. We love that there's a sushi spot now in Franklin and we really liked the ambiance inside. There are some items we didn't love but some that were really good. The happy hour deals were at a really good price point and is definitely worth checking out. Our favorite rolls were the tidal wave and the lion king. We didn't love the crispy tuna rice or Hawaiian and would recommend skipping out on those. read more

Stopped in for a BD Celebration! I will say the atmosphere, staff/customer service & drinks get a 4 ! Food is a 3 ! When we ordered didn't realize that most of the items were fried. It was okay sushi but we have had better. The best was a fresh roll we had and their Crispy Rice Cakes are great! Blue Kani was good but the Hawaiian Roll was meh. Drinks are always good here! I took my wife here for Valentines day to break the tradition of a steak dinner since we both love sushi. We have been told to give this place a try by 3 different people. Food was delicious, presentation was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was open and relaxing. Price is great for the level of service and food quality! Another amazing sushi spot....and I'm from Florida so this is saying something. The inside of this restaurant is so unique and fun. It makes you feel like you're stepping into Japan with authentic artwork and light fixtures. I started with Saki which was warmed perfectly and tasted delicious. Someone please explain to them that complexity is not the same as sophistication. A surfeit of choices -- 4 ways to have each fish, indeed? -- will have any sushi connoisseur annoyed before they're halfway through the menu. But the capper was the 1.5% fee to use a credit card. The Nashville area has so many good food choices now, why bother with this one. read more

Was hesitant to try this place as I've had some truly awful experiences at the downtown location, but this Franklin outpost of Blue Sushi Sake Grill was pleasantly solid. Upscale sushi restaurant with casual, hangout vibes, particularly due to a great (and dog friendly) patio! The menu here is extensive (all focused on sushi) but one rare thing about it is its incredibly large set of vegan/vegetarian options (including some with faux-tuna, vegan caviar.) This is a great place to come for folks with dietary restrictions. Unlike the downtown location, service here was excellent: attentive but not too pushy and I tried some great sake from waitstaff recommendations. I've been to the downtown location before so know some items are hit/miss flavor wise and tried to stick to things I knew would be winners: specialty sushi rolls, the crispy rice with spicy tuna. The spicy gringo roll is excellent, highly flavorful and this will probably be my new go-to for sushi south of Nashville. An item new to me was the charred edamame: perfectly cooked and the charred cooking method gave the edamame a bit of natural sweetness that was great. This location hasn't been open long but despite having quite a large space can be extremely busy on weekends. Walking in on a weeknight with no reservation was easy, though. Two small gripes were the inside was quite cold (even as someone who liked the AC at full blast) and smelled very strongly of cleaning solution, ruining the ambiance inside quite a bit. Otherwise, pretty good sushi for the Franklin/Brentwood area, awesome sake menu and service, chill vibes out on the patio! read more

When you first walk in here, you're absolutely blown away by the way this restaurant has been designed. What the stunning murals on the wall to the lanterns hung on the ceiling, you won't be disappointed with the vibes in this restaurant. We come here quite frequently because we can typically get a seat at the bar without a reservation. The place does get busy so I don't recommend it on a weekend night. I haven't been disappointed by anything that I've tried here, and I'm pretty sure I've had almost the whole menu. They have fresh fish cooked fresh and even a vegan menu. The fresh is fresh and sustainable. And their cocktails are delicious. And don't out on the dessert. Their tempura ice cream is my favorite dessert here. read more

This spot is HUGE in comparison to their downtown Nashville location, but the quality of the food isn't as good. People in my party (alongside myself) frequented the downtown location more + this was a first time for many at this location. We were disappointed in the flavors of the rolls. We're not sure what was missing, as it seems like the recipes would be standard. Our service was attentive and funny. read more

We were super happy to see a new destination for sushi in Franklin, and Blue Sushi Sake Grill did not disappoint. The space is pretty cool, with a very open feel, a variety of high and low tables, and a somewhat large outdoor dining area. Their menu is pretty extensive, which is great, although it can be a bit daunting with a variety of different sections. They do have a gluten-free menu, although there are additional items from the regular menu that could be modified if you can't have gluten. Our food was really good. The sushi rolls were great, and nice options in terms of flavors and textures. We did find that the service was a little slow and inattentive. The restaurant wasn't especially busy while we were there, and we saw wait staff wandering around, but it took a long time to get their attention when we needed something. Overall a good experience. The food is really good and the location is great, and hopefully we'll get more attentive service next time we stop in. read more

definitely on the fence about this place. first of all, the restaurant is super trendy and decorated very nicely. most nights you will probably need a reservation, but the night we went it wasn't super busy so a reservation wasn't necessary. we had a positive experience getting checked in and seated and our waitress was overall nice. however, once seated we barely saw her for the whole night. other servers brought out our food, drinks, and were asking if we needed anything. we order drinks and they were pretty ok, i probably wouldn't get one again. they also took a while to come out. the sushi was fresh and we really enjoyed our rolls, however, there are other places in the area that will give you better/ bigger rolls for the same price you'll pay here. overall, this place is good but I would probably recommend other places in the area before going here. read more

Even on a Monday night, the restaurant was packed, which tells you everything you need to know. In the realm of dining, where service can elevate or tarnish a meal, my experience leaves much to be desired. Despite the culinary potential, the lack of cohesive service overshadowed our entire experience, making even the best dishes difficult to appreciate. Over the course of an hour, no fewer than eight different staff members attended to our table, each seemingly unaware of the previous interactions. This disjointed approach led to a fragmented and impersonal dining experience. We were left without drinks and waters for over 15 minutes, and it took multiple queries before anyone seemed to realize we had not yet ordered. The staffs operational philosophy appeared to be "see something, run something," a concept that, while theoretically efficient, proved to be overwhelmingly chaotic in practice. The constant flux of different faces not only hindered the development of a rapport with our server but also resulted in numerous delays. It was not until a conversation with the host that a single server was assigned to us, belatedly introducing some semblance of consistency. It's also noticeable that with the expansion of Blue Sushi Sake Grill seems to have diluted its former glory. The once expansive and enticing happy hour has diminished, and the food quality, once a highlight, now appears to suffer from the restaurant's rapid growth. read more

Not only did this restaurant have some of the best sushi I've tasted as of yet - and I've had quite a lot - but they had real wasabi, made with the actual wasabi plant as opposed to dyed horseradish. The waitress was very friendly, we chatted for a while about said wasabi and the locally-sourced cucumber in the water. The lighting was cool as well, darker shades of red and blue that didn't hurt my eyes or limit visibility. Overall, a really fun place to go for good food. The only thing I didn't love was the portion sizes. I could have kept eating there all night if they weren't so small. read more
