JJ's is locally owned and you can feel it every second you are there. They have a great selection of wines - you can either pour your own with machines inside or order from the staff. Our evening started at happy hour on a Friday, four of us total. Given a lovely table in the bar room. Server was pleasant, happy and attentive to our inquiries, we had never been there before. We selected items from the happy hour wine bar and one of us had a beer. The server walked us through the process with the wine card. We chose $60 on our wine card and went to pour our wines. All was fine with the help of staff. when we were ready for a second round, I had a one oz of Rose, not problem and didn't need help. The other two in the party also wanted another round, however they had trouble with the wine dispenser and wine was poured/spilled on the floor. Staff came over and cleaned up but when suggested can we have another pour, they did they needed to check with manager. Manager said no additional pour. My two friends were very upset and we finished what we had at the table and asked for the check. Not the pleasant experience we thought we would have. We are all over fifty years old and we were not in alcohol stupor! Just disappointed in the staffs attention to our Issue, we all had never been to a wine dispenser previously. I felt a little guilty with the lesser tip we gave but i was out numbered. We have been in Franklin for three years and had never been to this establishment. Not sure if we will return. read more

We made a big effort to come to this specific restaurant/wine bar from Nashville, find parking and walk over. The Host tonight (12/14/24) was very unfriendly. We arrived around 5pm. When I told her I had a service dog she wanted us to sit on the patio in the rain or way in the back. I asked if we could sit on the porch and she said no my dog is a fire hazard. I have a medium size dog that can easily fit under the table but she kept pressuring us to sit on the patio, which I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't raining, which it was. They have a quaint bar area tucked away from the dining room and a spacious outdoor seating area on the beautiful wrap around porch. The atmosphere is warm, calming and cozy. Came in a couple Saturdays ago for a glass of wine before our dinner reservation down the street. We had never been in before but were excited about a wine bar in Franklin! Immediately when we walked we were surprised by the musty smell and the dank decor. We were seated in the room immediately to the left and waited a good 10 minutes before someone managed to ask for our order. After we ordered we were waiting another 10-15 minutes before a busser walked by and asked if we "needed anything else" I said "We're still waiting for our champagne" she seemed genuinely embarrassed and asked what it was that we ordered. I asked if the order had even been put in from before and she said no... After that we left. I wasn't going to wait again for nothing. While we were sitting there waiting for nothing to come however, we did get a good look at the space and it was tacky tacky tacky. Dust bunnies hanging from the ceiling, peeling wallpaper, sticky tables, stained zebra print chairs, ugly signs that say 'wine' in corks... Super not at the level. When leaving there were 3 people just standing at the front desk and one said "Well that was quick'! to us.. My husband politely said, that we would have been here a smidge longer had our drink order been placed. Don't waste your time! It's way bigger than it looks from the outside and it was so fun, comfortable & inviting!! JJ's Wine Bar is a cozy self-serve wine bar that should be a must for anyone living in or near Franklin! JJ's is located near Franklin Square off of East Main Street in a white house with a covered porch. This place has a cute, intimate setting that makes it perfect for date night or a meetup with some friends. Upon entering the woman at the front gave me a brief tour and explanation. She asked for my ID and credit card and explained that their system of payment was to give you a card with a chip which you will insert into the self-serve wine area and press the button of the wine you would like. By each bottle they have the price listed for a taste, a glass or a full bottle. This is perfect if you want to try several wines before committing to a full glass. They also have a menu with some additional wines that you can order at your table instead of pouring. The wine bar is self seating so you can choose which room you want to sit in. I noticed that the room to left when you first walk in is a little more formal with tables. My friend and I entered the room with the bar which has couches and big oversized chairs with little tables. This room was perfect for a relaxed atmosphere. Their food menu is mostly small plates, salads and flatbreads. My friend and I ordered the stuffed dates ($8) and the charcuterie platter ($15) to share. Both were delicious! The charcuterie platter came with marinated green olives, bread, whole grain mustard and a selection of meat. I would order this again next time. I love the ambiance, the concept of the self-serve wine bar and the ease of getting your bill with everything you've ordered. The service was also good here. The only thing I can think of for improvement is maybe a few more choices of wine and also I wish a few options were a bit cheaper, it is easy to run up a high tab here! read more

Brought my mom here to check it out, this place is so cute! It sits on the corner of main and second. The vibe is very casual and chill. Food options on limited but great for the type of place, it's a wine bar so there are so many options for wine by the glass and bottle. They have hummus and spinach dips, flat breads and different meat or cheese platters or the charcuterie board with a mixture of both which is what we got. In my experience, it is likely I will not return. Service was Poor, especially given very light patronage (most, if not all, tables were empty at the time) - I had to go to the hostess stand to ask for service after no one came to our table 15 minutes after being seated - Didn't have the wine we ordered...would've made sense for the server to let us know, given it's a wine bar - the new wine we ordered was not chilled, so again, more waiting - flatbread order was incorrect - waitress never made eye contact with us - no apologies or acknowledgement from the wait staff for our service Happy day read more
