We had a great night and made an unfortunate choice to end at JJ's. Ruined the night because I hadn't met anyone in Nashville who had been rude before. My guests were offended by a member of the staff, locals, not our waiter who was great. It only takes one person and it was just sad. We were enjoying ourselves and had overstayed our welcome and were reminded of that in a passive aggressive way by a person yelling from the back. Not a good place for clients. Good wine though. ADORABLE!!! I've been meaning to stop here for over a year and finally got in later on a Thursday evening, which I have to say is perfect - it's quiet and chill, the couches are cozy, the wifi is free and you won't have a rush at the machines. I've been to a place in Asheville that lets you do beer by the ounce, and I can't believe it hasn't caught on here yet (anyone want to go into business????) but I"m glad this wine bar does! The perfect place sit down with friends and enjoy a nice glass of wine and great conversation. As soon as we sat down our waiter, Charlie, came over welcomed us, took our order and then said the phrase that made this place one of our new favorites "make our porch your home". Simple words, big thought and now customers for life! Drinks were great, flatbread was awesome and the porch did feel like home. On the way out Jill (owner) chatted with us a bit. Its disappointing when I find a wine I like, and I want to stick with it ~but this has happened too many times not to bring it to someone's attention. There was nothing posted about being closed for a private party on 10/27/2022, which was a Thursday. The website said that you're only open for private events on Mondays, but, again, this was a Thursday. I didn't check social media, but it seems a bit excessive to expect would-be patrons to refer to multiple sources in an effort to decipher whether or not you're open. THIS. Let me tell you, genius idea here. Tastings of quality wines that you rarely get a chance to try because the bottles are so expensive. I mean, come on. Any wine lovers dream! It seems a little weird to have to put money on a card, but then when you see the system, it makes more sense. We opted for one card for our group of 7 because we weren't local so we didn't want to waste all those cards. We put $10 each on the card and grabbed a glass to taste. The wine coolers with the tasting pours is in the hallway and got a little cramped as we all huddled around deciding what we wanted to try first. There were a few good rosés like Whispering Angel, we tried a couple interesting red blends, and I got to try a few Italian whites I liked. The fun part of all of it was trying different sips for only a few dollars each. There were a couple more expensive bottles that were pricier for tastings too. They also have wine by the glass and a bottle list if that's more your style. The space was cozy, situated in a converted home. There were a few patio seats outside too. I definitely wish I could revisit this place more often. Consider opening one in Rochester, perhaps? read more

Love the concept of do-it-yourself wine tasting and glasses, but they also offer a full bar with bartender. When you enter, you are warmly greeted with a smile and a quick explanation of how their program works (basically enomatic machines that dispense wines by the ounce, 5 ounces, or 8 ounces that you use a card with your unique ID that charges you by the ounce). I have used these machines in many high end hotels and even some restaurants and tasting bars. They had an OKAY selection of wines "on tap," and a decent bottle list, however, working in some of the wineries that they pour, I can easily say, that their prices are a bit too high and could use an adjustment. I am sure their overhead being in downtown franklin on main st, is rather high, so I could imagine a higher than normal price tag. There is a lot to love about this place, just wish I could get some of their "bottle only" wines by the glass! Come down and hang out for a nice relaxing drink. read more

This was such a fun and quaint wine bar to enjoy with my husband while visiting Franklin, Tennessee. The wine selection is small but good. The tasting allows for you to try something different that you may have been hesitant to try before because of the cost. Newbies to the wine bar may be intimidated, but the staff was nice and welcoming and ready to explain how the whole method worked. Having some knowledge of wine is helpful but not NEEDED. They had the option of taste: 1.5 oz; half glass: 5oz; and full glass: 7oz. The prices vary based on the type and age of the wine. They had a port special while were there, but we did not partake in it. They have party rooms and a few tables on the porch to enjoy the sounds and scenes of downtown Franklin. It was a warm night but the celling fans made it just fine for an enjoyable evening on the porch after moving outside from the main bar. You can get cocktails and other wines not in the wine bar selection at the bar. JJ's is a perfect place to meet up with friends for a laid back, wine lover's atmosphere! When you arrive, you present your ID and payment method, then receive a numbered card. That card is what you will use at the wine tasting machines to sample at will, and add bites if you choose. Happy Hour is 4-6pm, and their nibbles are half off! I recommend the hummus. Buffalo chicken dip is great too. Large portions for sharing. Outside of happy hour, the food prices feel a little steep for what you get. They have a few rooms you can even reserve for FREE ahead of time for a group. I did this for a girls' Happy Hour and it was so nice. Free space like that is hard to come by. They brought 3 of the meals and left one off. After we sat there for 10 minutes waiting for the missed meal with zero explanation, the server comes and says, oh! We are out of what you ordered.
