I really wanted to like this place... but after my fifth visit, I'm done trying. As someone who genuinely enjoys sushi and values convenience, this spot should have been a regular go-to. Unfortunately, the experience has been consistently disappointing. Despite multiple visits and even conversations with the chef and waitress, I'm still treated like it's my first time every single visit. At this point, I'm starting to wonder if I'm invisible or if there's a reset button I don't know about. Service is minimal at best. The only thing ever "served" to me is a drink--which, by the way, never gets refilled. Yet I still tip, hoping maybe the experience improves next time. (Spoiler alert: it hasn't.) What really stands out--and not in a good way--is the clear difference in how I'm treated compared to other customers. I'm consistently offered the same basic options: fried rolls or a standard California roll with imitation crab. Meanwhile, I watch the chef offer more premium selections like salmon and tuna to others without hesitation. This last visit was the breaking point. I came in looking forward to breaking my fast and decided to go with the all-you-can-eat option. The chef served everyone who arrived before me--and even someone who came in after me--before getting to me. When I asked about a roll I saw served (Philadelphia roll), I was told those customers were there first. Fair enough... until I pointed out someone who came in after me and was already eating. That's when I was told, "she's a usual." Got it. Message received loud and clear. Loved this spot! First of all, the staff could not have been kinder. The chef was checking in on my partner and I to make more rolls for us, and our server always made sure we had plenty to drink. The interior is small but has lots of bar seating, a few booths, and of course easy access to the conveyor belt of rolls no matter where you sit. It's mainly crab and shrimp rolls, but occasionally there is tuna or salmon as well. They also had a few other options besides rolls, and it came with your choice of soup or salad which was a nice touch. We will definitely be back! read more

Per usual, absolutely spectacular. I decided to come back to this restaurant for my birthday today, and got the conveyor as well as a couple of specialty rolls. The chef is the most incredible person you will ever meet. The conveyor belt is solid sushi and sides, with simpler dishes (I ate well over the $25 price). However, similar to last time, the specialty rolls were the kicker. I asked the chef directly and said "give me something with some spice"... he absolutely delivered. The first roll was a deep fried roll with sweet potato I believe and it was phenomenal. Second was crab and avocado topped with salmon and tuna, with a wasabi sauce and these little breading flakes, 10/10. Finally, the SPICY ONE. Absolutely incredible. Jalapeño, wasabi, siracha. I cried and ate 6 more pieces. This after watching K-Pop Demon Hunters in theaters made my soul ascend. AGAIN, make it worth your while and come here! read more

This is by far the best Sushi place you can go to if you want the best service possible and amazing food. I have been 3 times and they never fail. I came late and they still let me get the AYCE because I didn't know they ended at a certain time. Then I came 30 mins before close and got a massive order and they made it for me even though it caused them to stay after. I was able to talk with both the owners and had a great conversation. It was a quiet afternoon, and we were the only customers, so one of the chefs kept introducing us to his favorite kinds of sushi and letting us try them on the house. All the staff spoke Japanese to each other, which was super cool. I haven't studied Japanese in years, but living near Bodeli may be enough to make me want to dust off my kanji books and see if I can stammer through a conversation with them. read more

We had the all you can eat sushi train and wow was it great! We have been to sushi train and I feel sick from the amount of cream cheese. But this place is way better than that! Cutest little locally owned, family run sushi joint! I come here all the time and they always treat me so kindly. The sushi chef remembers you and makes special rolls to treat guests off the train. I had to search pretty deep into my phone camera folder to find the first picture that I took in a particular spot. The photo itself is somewhat unremarkable except for the image of a 6 month old girl playing with her foot in a car seat, and that car seat is in the booth of a restaurant: Bodeli Sushi. This establishment has been a significant part of my life for the past 7 years. They have been the first place we go to celebrate the wonderful things in life. In fact, I think they knew about a couple of our kids before anyone else did. They have patiently served my wild bunch starting with that inquisitive 6 month old, all the way to tonight when we celebrated the birthday of my youngest. The staff at Bodeli treat us like family and the food is equal to the service. Bodeli is the place that I judge all other sushi against, and every other place I've been to has failed. The chef behind the counter is truly talented and he has honed his skills to be, in my opinion, the best in Tennessee. We love Bodeli, and if I could only tell them one thing it would be this: thank you. Thank you for all of the hard work you put into your product. Thank you for sharing it with us. I was excited to eat here so that I could experience a sushi train. I was stoked. I'm not horribly picky about my sushi selections. This couldn't go wrong! This establishment has a full menu that you can order off of or you can utilize the train offerings. Patrons can pay per plate or pay $25 for all you can eat off of the train. I went all in. Mistake. The train service is a setup. Only the cheapest of sushi rolls are offered and they only give you a certain amount of food. The train stops running. There might be a fried mushroom left but I didn't come for all you can eat fried mushrooms. Frustrating. Someone requested a certain roll for the train and was denied. It's not like the sushi was inedible but I didn't expect two varieties and mediocre appetizers. Service was -fine-. Took forever to get the check. Parking is ample in a small strip mall. read more

Let me start by saying the people working were super friendly. That said, the sushi tasted like it had been sitting out for quite some time. Most of it was at room temperature and the tempura vegetables were cold. Much of my sushi crumbled when I picked it up with chopsticks, unfortunately. Despite having four or five different price options we only saw two types of plates pass by us -- 90% of them were the $4/serving plates. The carousel is a novel concept, but the lack of any labels meant we were playing a guessing game with the sushi we got. Also, the lids weren't exactly transparent to help make out what kind of sushi we were choosing and they were sticky (which had me a little worried). This place is legit. I sat at the counter and ordered roll after roll. The chef was Awesome, so accommodating and attentive. I'd recommend the hand rolls as they are a bigger bite of fish rather then spread onto a full roll, but they are both solid. My favorite roll was the jalapeño roll. read more
