Even the Cajun butter was disappointing. It tasted like butter mixed with the seasoning packet from instant ramen rather than a flavorful Cajun butter. I sat there while employees walked past me without saying a word. At one point, six employees were standing at a table directly behind me folding silverware. Six employees -- including the same hostess who had just sent me to the booth -- were right there, and not one of them acknowledged that I was sitting there. No greeting. No "We'll be right with you." No offer of a drink. No one even asked if I was ready to order. It is now 8:30 PM, and I am STILL sitting here without anyone coming to check on me. What's especially frustrating is that I was prepared to order a drink, an appetizer, and an entrée. I came into this restaurant ready to spend my money and enjoy a meal. Instead, I was treated as though I didn't exist. At this point, I'm leaving and will have to find a fast-food restaurant. I've traveled and eaten at restaurants all over the country, and I honestly don't understand how a restaurant can operate this way. Bonefish Grill isn't in Houston for whatever reason, but after this experience, I think I understand why this particular location may be struggling. When six employees can stand directly behind a paying customer, including the hostess who seated them, and nobody thinks to say hello or offer service, this isn't just one employee having a bad day. This feels like a management and leadership problem. Restaurants don't lose customers because of one bad night.
