Our first time eating at Koi Sushi and Thai. Ordered 5 rolls and ginger chicken. Sushi came out after 30 minutes but not the ginger chicken. We had to ask about it and they forgot to put in the order. No apology. We had to wait another 15 minutes for it. It was good once we got it. Just not great service. Sushi rolls were good but small. Not upscale whatsoever just a typical Asian restaurant with booths and tables.

I dined at Koi Sushi & Thai on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 12:30 pm. This review is based on my second dining experience at lunch, which unfortunately, did not really improve much since my first dining experience at dinner over 2 years ago. I thought it was still pretty average in terms of food quality. This Japanese/Thai fusion restaurant quickly got busy after opening so I could tell it is still a popular restaurant. The Pad Thai, a Thai staple dish I normally order to assess any Thai restaurant's authenticity and quality, was mediocre. I wouldn't say its execution was poor, but it just didn't stand out to me. The flavor was not as developed compared to other pad Thai I have eaten around Nashville. It was also a bit too moist and was missing some more time on a hot wok. As someone who don't mind a little MSG in his food, I felt like there was too much in the Pad Thai. So be prepared to be subdued to a food coma if you eat the Pad Thai. There are a lot of options for sushi and they all look great on the picture menu. I do commend Koi for offering unique sushi rolls you wouldn't find in other sushi restaurants. I normally do not order sushi with crawfish in it, but I must have missed it when I ordered the red dragon roll. It was well-balanced and flavorful. I'd also recommend the snake roll if you like the basic eel roll because it has the imitation crab and fresh cucumber to balance the rich eel flavor. The volcano roll is typically a rich roll, but I thought it needed more spice to cut the richness. I did not like the TNT roll because I thought the panang curry seasoning was overpowering and just doesn't belong in sushi. Service was above average - very friendly and attentive. Waters were adequately refilled and our food came in a timely manner. We barely missed the lunch rush when we left, so be prepared to expect slower service if the restaurant is full. Overall, I think if I were to visit Koi again, I would stick to mostly sushi because there are a lot of intriguing ones I'd like to try out next time.

Amazing staff, great food. This is our go-to spot for date night and for takeout. The wait staff went above and beyond to be sure our order was exactly as we asked. They continue to earn our business, time and time again!

We were in Franklin and saw this on Yelp so we stopped for dinner. Good call! I had Tom Ta soup with shrimp. I added a bit of red pepper in oil to bring up the heat. Excellent! Just excellent! We shared 4 different sushi rolls and they were all really good. I'd come back here anytime I'm in the area!

This is my umpteenth time visiting Koi but I've only now gotten around to writing a review. As you can tell from the pictures, we were so excited about the food we dug in before I remembered to take a picture. We've always had fantastic experiences and today was no exception. The staff is accommodating and welcoming but can seem a bit dispassionate from the outside. However, don't let that dissuade you from eating here because the food is wonderful. A smidge over priced but good quality. The restaurant itself is very nice with different seating arrangements and great ambiance. While this restaurant is a little on the expensive side, I do recommend it if you want some good sushi. I also love the fact that they have gluten-free accommodations including ability to make dishes gluten-free and even gluten-free soy sauce.

From the food to the service, everything exceeded our expectations. The first thing that stood out was their small plate concept, and I absolutely loved it. I enjoy trying a variety of dishes instead of committing to just one entrée, and this concept is something I wish more restaurants would adopt. We ended up trying almost half the menu and loved nearly every dish. A huge shout-out to our server, Nestor. He welcomed us warmly, was cheerful throughout the evening, and his recommendations were spot on. He truly made the dinner even more enjoyable. We started with a couple of mocktails, and the Purple Haze was refreshing and delicious. Here are some of our favorites: MI Cucumber - Smashed cucumber with soy dressing, crunchy chili oil, and cilantro. Simple, refreshing, and packed with flavor. Plantain - Fried plantains topped with sriracha goat cheese, cilantro, and crunchy gremolata. The sriracha goat cheese paired perfectly with the sweet plantains. K-Pop Chicken - Korean sweet and spicy popcorn chicken with great flavor and a perfect balance of sweetness and heat. Dumplings - Homemade steamed dumplings with edamame, truffle, yuzu ponzu, and garlic confit. I really enjoyed the truffle flavor, though it may not be for everyone. Kimchi Bacon Risotto - Caramelized kimchi, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, and shrimp. One of the best dishes of the night--perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. Crispy Spicy Tuna - Spicy mayo tuna served over crispy rice. This was one of the highlights of the meal. The crispy rice was absolutely perfect. Cauliflower Taco - Crispy cauliflower with guacamole, creamy miso, and tsiran spice. The filling was flavorful, and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly. Lamb Chops - This was the only dish that felt average. The lamb was cooked well, but it was missing a bit of flavor. A little more seasoning, especially some salt, would have really elevated the dish. To finish the meal, we had the Banana Pudding with Vanilla Gelato, which was a delicious and satisfying way to end dinner. Overall, MI Kitchen completely exceeded our expectations. Amazing food, a fun small-plate concept, and outstanding service from Nestor made this a memorable experience. We'll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu!

It's one of those places where everything is packed with flavor and every dish feels a little special. The Mi cucumber is absolutely to die for--especially when you put it on top of the dumplings. Trust me on that combo! The K-Pop chicken is AMAZING and a must-order every time. The arancini has such a flavorful and unique twist that really stands out. The spring roll was delicious too, full of flavor with just the right amount of spice. And the tacos... you cannot skip them. The beef tacos are incredible, and the cauliflower tacos are just as good. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything here. On top of the fantastic food, the service is always great--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Highly recommend!! Be sure to make a reservation!

I am always on the hunt for a solid pick-up Chinese spot and usually wait until I am closer to home to scoop up the food, but decided to give Asian Taste a try recently and get it right after work. Online ordering process was simple, not a huge fan of the 7% processing fee, but the prices were fair so I pushed through. Quoted time of 25 minutes was spot on. When I walked in the door, they were walking from behind the curtain with my order. As noted in previous reviews, I always judge a Chinese spot by their wonton soup...and Asian Taste came through with some of the best wonton soup I have had in the area! In addition to the tasty soup, we got sesame chicken with fried rice and an egg roll, and house lo mein. The egg roll was more of a spring roll, but it was fried to perfection and packed with the goods, so again, I let it slide. All the food was hot and delicious, and plentiful. Pricing was not bad, including the fees, tax and a tip, we spent around $32, which is not bad at all! If you are interested in dining in, there are several booths and tables. The dining room was well kept and clean. Overall, really enjoyed Asian Taste. Definitely will be added to the rotation for those weeknight Chinese dinners!

Everything tasted fresh, no complaints there. However, I had an issue with the portion size to price ratio. My fiancé and I both ordered the regular sized pho. They have a smaller size and a regular size and we 100% ordered regular size. Now, I don't know if something got mixed up, but assuming I got the correct order, a regular size portion is a shallow takeout container with noodles and the toppings and 16oz of broth. That amount of broth is enough to barely cover everything in the already shallow bowl. Also, the bao bun, while super tasty, cost $4.25 and we got one piece of pork belly on it which I was a little sad about! The coconut pudding, also super tasty, was pretty small too and cost $3.00. However, it is a filling dessert so I can understand that pricing and portion sizes. Again, overall this place is good, but I think I've just been a bit more spoiled with other Pho spots I've been to. I've had a lot of places give me a lot more bang for my buck.
