Sushi was fresh and fast. Serving staff was friendly and kept our water glasses full. Family owned with Tony the sushi chef. Look for the motto "see you tomorrow" sign over the door. We will be back..maybe even tomorrow. read more

A hidden gem in Franklin, this sushi spot delivers fresh, flavorful food, standout signature rolls, and exceptional customer service that makes it well worth a visit. Tucked away in a strip mall in Franklin is a really good little sushi spot that is definitely worth checking out! We decided to call in an order and do takeout tonight, and everything was fresh, hot, and ready quickly. We started with a couple appetizers -- the Edamame and Gyoza, and both were very good. For entrees, we ordered the Chicken Fried Rice, which was flavorful and loaded with chicken. We also tried a California Roll and a Shrimp Tempura Roll, and both hit the spot. But the real star of the night was one of their Signature Rolls, the Yummy Roll! Made with crab, cream cheese, and avocado, then topped with eel, this thing was absolutely amazing. If you're feeling adventurous, skip straight to the Signature Rolls because that's where this place really shines. Inside, they have several tables and booths, plus a couple seats right in front of the sushi chef if you want the full experience. The service was outstanding from start to finish. They even called me by name when I arrived and carried the food out to my car that kind of customer service is hard to find these days. If you live in Franklin and haven't tried this place yet, what are you waiting for? read more

Food was fine, but it didn't blow me away. Unassuming restaurant in a strip mall, with plenty of parking. We were greeted and seated promptly, service was friendly. My water glass was always refilled and our food came out quickly. We tried the Panang curry and pad see ew. The curry was fine, not spicy at all. The noodles were pretty bland. I prefer my Thai food spicy, and this was not it. I'm always skeptical of Asian restaurants that mix multiple cuisines together (sushi, Thai and pho) those are very different foods from different places. read more

Food was good, service was okay. Clearly they didn't see that we had kids in our party when they seated us in an adults only side. After taking our order another server stepped in and moved us to an area without an adult movie on the screens! Not a great dinner - doubt we'll be back. read more

Good Pad Thai, soups, sushi, etc. We don't go there often but have always liked our entrees.

Great food, great service, simple ambiance but friendly and most enjoyable.rhe sushi is exceptional le and super fresh and tasty. Their pad Thai is delicious and I could wa x poetically a pit their pho. My friends rave about their curries - haven't had a disappointing meal yet in many years! read more

Yall!!!! I had no clue how great this place was!!! In a strip mall next to the Home Depot and Publix in Franklin. The space was small but the food was awesome. I'd come back a lot. SmallSpace and it did get a tad sweaty when it was full, but that did not slow down the hustle of the workers and we were grateful. read more

This is so sad to say, but after 4 years of eating here regularly (and giving it a 5 star review)...I now have to say that this restaurant has absolutely tanked in the last year. Unfortunately, this happens to some restaurants that are so good and popular that they lose their original quality and mission. The last 10-15 times we've gone here over the last year, it's been garbage. The flavor has totally changed across the board. The sushi tastes cheaper and less fresh, the Thai curry taste cheap and canned, the cut veggies totally don't taste fresh anymore, the chicken and beef taste rubbery and like the lower possibly quality meat...and the Thai noodles Pad Tsu sauce taste horrible! And don't get my started on the veggie eggrolls. There are FORSURE just frozen eggrolls from some package, and they tasted sour and off. Of course, the prices have also increased dramatically just in the last few years and the portion sizes have decreased. The good news? A few other new Thai and sushi restaurants have gone in both to the south and north of this place, so no need to go here anymore. I am making sure not to name names though, so it doesn't compromise the integrity of the post. But do your research and avoid at all costs! Unfortunately, the sun has set on your restaurant, Sunset Sushi and Thai. Goodbye read more

The owner, Tony, is a genuine pillar of the community that has been giving back for so many years now. Before the new decor renovation, he used to have so many photos up of customers that he would invite as guests and host them and their families because they were suffering from illnesses like cancer. Food: The food is a wonderful fusion-style menu that's quality is far outweighed by its price point. The sushi is really fresh too. In fact, Toni is usually the one preparing it for you! Great portions as well. Service: Always attentive, nice and polite. Ambiance: Straightforward and clean restaurant and decor. read more

Wife wasn't feeling too great, so decided to grab her some Pho. Some buddies of our told us about this place, gave it a try, and now I won't grab Pho from anywhere else. Genuinely that good. I'm not much of a Pho guy, and I could eat this everyday. And this place ain't even a Pho place. I did order a Beef Pad Thai, and those may have been some of the best Pad Thai I've ever had. And on top of all this, super friendly customer service, and such a cool vibe on the inside. Absolutely coming back. read more

Always delicious & as busy as they are they provide pretty quick service and very nice staff.

This was an unusually busy place and I understand why it's because the food was fantastic. I am pretty sure the people working there were the owners and they were super nice and I would come back in a heartbeat next time I'm in town also - they had gluten-free soy sauce, and as someone with celiac, anything gluten-free is awesome and I think them for knowing a little bit about this, too. read more

Went here for a nice and quiet meal, was not disappointed. Quick service, and good sushi.

Great ambiance, amazing good and even better service! Restaurant was very busy, after a short wait we were seated. Food was absolutely delicious with one dish better than the next! Edamame, miso soup, tony bowl, pad thai and a noodle dosh that I forget the name of! Service and more specifically our waiter was top notch! Found this gem here on yelp and it did not disappoint! Please note restaurant can be found on the side of the Publix building! read more

I ordered takeout from Sunset like I have many times before. it was a very large order. One family member started eating his fried rice and said it tasted like dirty dish water. I said that's really rude it can't be that bad. then I took a bite of my fried rice and I apologized to him because he actually had a pretty apt description. there was a weird smell and the taste was musty and not something I have ever experienced in fried rice. I since looked it up to see what the issue was. it could have been made in advance and improperly stored. It could be old rice. it could have been stored with something that went bad and absorbed the smell. Other family members tried the sushi and said one of the rolls had bad fish and another had the weird issue with the rice. Maybe the restaurant ordered too much going in to the holiday and the fish went off and the rice half prepared and left in the cooler absorbed the bad smell? Maybe their sink needs a water filter, or they used old rice. I really don't know. but a $300 sushi order went into the garbage. I've never had to do that before in my life but no one wanted to take a chance by tasting the rest of the rolls. I tried to email sunset sushi using their email from their website and it bounced back to me. I can't remember ever leaving a bad review for a restaurant but this was really unacceptable. I have to wonder what the kitchen looks like for them not to notice the rice smell. it's not something I will soon forget read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants. I have had almost everything on their menu. The sushi is great but my personal favorite is the panang curry. They make it more spicy than most places even on the basic level but I love it. They give you plenty in the portions so I always have leftovers. The staff is nice although sometimes they are fairly busy and you might be waiting for a minute to order. The vibe of the restaurant is lovely and casual but also inviting with their Asian flair. If you have a chance, definitely visit Sunset Sushi and Thai and try it out for yourself. read more

Great new sushi place for us. Amazing dumplings! Shrimp fried rice was yummy. Green tea and strawberry mochi ice cream was a blast.

Great place for Thai curry! Pad Thai is good too. Always friendly staff. Sushi has not been as good as before. I would recommend this place.

Awesome food and service. Great quality of sushi. Cannot say enough positives about this place.

OMG when I tell you this is the best place for sushi and Thai ever I mean it, it's such a cute little place and Tony is the best he is so sweet. The sushi is very fresh and taste amazing!! The white tuna is my favorite very buttery and soft you have to try this out some day, read more

Always enjoy this place. We've only dined in once, but we usually do takeout. Service is always friendly. Sushi is satisfying, so we haven't really tried any other spots because we liked it enough. And the only other cuisine I've had here was Thai. Specifically, PadSeEw and curry. Both are flavorful and yummy. read more

Always great food. I think they serve the best sushi in town. Great service and very cosey place to eat. My number one place for sushi.

Great Pad Thai and other dishes. Service is always top notch. Easy to park and also comfortable to eat in

The food was good, but the rice noodles were not prepared right. The service was fast & efficient. The atmosphere was family orientated, a little loud for those that like it quiet. Parking was challenging. read more

Goodness I came because of the reviews but after being inside it is full of local people. What I mean by that is I didn't see a lot of Asian people, so I can't imagine how authentic this place really is .I can only speak to what I ordered since ppl seem to like this place. I ordered a roll and it was very good, seemed fresh. Dumplings, which were good and what we actually came for was the pad Thai. It was so sweet!!!! Pure sugar. Wish it had more fresh green onions to offset the sweetness. I thought it was terrible. I hope this doesn't deter people from coming here and trying it unless they're actually looking for pad Thai in which case they should probably go elsewhere unless they like this week version. I do remember I've been here before I was not impressed then either, so this is my second time, and probably my last since they didn't offer a lot of different variety of Thai food read more

4-7-21. It's Wednesday and full house! They have space around the tables and the energy is huge. We found Tony behind the sushi counter after a few months of searching when he disappeared from a previous counter. So glad he opened his own place! We've found rolls all over the menu we love - here are some recommendations if you're looking. Sunflower Volcano Red Dragon Green Dragon Sassy Charlie My daughter came up with her own which lives in the special menu, Charlie Roll... basically a crunchy shrimp loaded with more crunchy and sauce... tell him to add it to the main menu if you or the littles try it. He's got amazing curry too - try the red curry if you're looking for recommendations. Several friends have told me it's the best they have found anywhere. It is fantastic. read more

This place is a hidden gem! Great, cozy atmosphere and delicious dishes and sushi! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Tony the owner is awesome!

Best Thai in Franklin! Tony, the owner is the BEST! He greets you every single time with a hearty hello! They make us feel like family every time we are there. All of the Thai meals are amazing. Don't miss the Pho- it's truly so good. Sushi is great too. The visit always ends with Tony's "See you tomorrow!" on the way out the door read more

I had the pad Thai and green curry. I forgot to take a picture of my green curry but it was good! Pad Thai was different as it was really saucy. But the flavors were there especially the tangy tamarind that many other restaurants don't have. It had all the characteristics of pad Thai: tangy, sweet (a little too sweet) , spicy, and savory. Despite being different it was good. The green curry was good as well. Both had large portions and lots of protein. The service wasn't great as we watched servers gather at the bar and listened to them tell stories and make after work plans as we waited for our order to be taken as well as not getting checked on. If anything was asked for they would bring it after their story was over. Otherwise, I'll be back to try more! read more
