Great service and great food! We had the Bao buns, sushi medley, kids pho, and chicken teriyaki. Everything was very tasty.

The pho has great flavor, but the noodles are a bit too cooked by the time it's delivered. They tend to break easily and get soggy. I usually transfer the pho to my own bowl at home, and I think slightly undercooking the noodles would really help it hold up better for delivery. The fresh spring rolls are good, but I'd love to see more of the other ingredients and less noodles inside. The sauce is really good. The taro boba with coconut milk is hands-down the best drink! It's creamy, flavorful, and not too sweet. I haven't tried adding extras yet, but I'd prefer an option to add extra boba from the app next time. Very happy with the extra lunar new year donuts that they included in our order! Thank you!

When I got there late afternoon on a Saturday, it was somewhat busy, some families and a few groups of friends. There was a line to order. Seems like it is family owned and there wasn't a lot of staff. The cashier was also bussing tables and serving the food. The staff seemed friendly and hardworking. They have a little water station that you may help yourself to throughout your meal. I ordered the Viet Tea Trio (appetizer, entrée, & drink) with a Beef Pho, Pork fried egg rolls, and a rose milk tea. They had a variety of milk teas and matcha flavors along with many toppings (i.e. boba). The beef pho was full of flavor. The beef was tender and cooked through, brisket cut. The egg rolls are crunchy and come with a sweet kind of chili sauce. They also have hoisin or sriracha sauce on the tables if you would like to add more flavor to your food. The tea was delicious, though on the sweet side. I like sweet, but let the staff know if you would like it less sweet (25/50/75%). The whole meal was quite filling. It was a bit loud, which is fine, but the kitchen is just behind a curtain so you can sometimes hear the clanking of pots and dishes. But overall a nice experience.

The food was estimated to be ready 10-15 minutes after I ordered. It was ready in the promised time. The Chicken Pho was perfect when I had a cold. I added chili oil and loved the flavor of the soup. It was loaded with chicken and veggies too. The Beef Bao Bun was flavorful. The meat on the Bao bun was great. Vui's Bowl was also really good. My kids loved the Kids Rice Bowl. The kids' meals are large enough for my daughters to share. Vui's will be on my list when I'm looking for a healthy meal or a nice brothy soup.

Everything tasted fresh, no complaints there. However, I had an issue with the portion size to price ratio. My fiancé and I both ordered the regular sized pho. They have a smaller size and a regular size and we 100% ordered regular size. Now, I don't know if something got mixed up, but assuming I got the correct order, a regular size portion is a shallow takeout container with noodles and the toppings and 16oz of broth. That amount of broth is enough to barely cover everything in the already shallow bowl. Also, the bao bun, while super tasty, cost $4.25 and we got one piece of pork belly on it which I was a little sad about! The coconut pudding, also super tasty, was pretty small too and cost $3.00. However, it is a filling dessert so I can understand that pricing and portion sizes. Again, overall this place is good, but I think I've just been a bit more spoiled with other Pho spots I've been to. I've had a lot of places give me a lot more bang for my buck.

Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. There were two staff members present: one behind the bar and one in the dining are. After being seated, no one acknowledged us. We waited about 15 minutes without anyone offering water, taking our order, or even checking in. What made it more frustrating was when another guest came in and was immediately greeted and served water, while we were still being ignored. At that point, it became clear we weren't going to receive service, so we decided to leave. As we walked out, the staff watched us go without saying a word or attempting to address the situation. We ended up going to The Smiling Elephant, where we had a completely different experience--friendly service and great food. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

The…read morebase of vegetable broth mixed with coconut milk was creamy yet not heavy (with a blend of yellow and red curry spices, according to the menu -- sadly I am not that well versed in curries!). The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving.

The hardest part about eating at Degthai is beelining to the Tiew Gang Vegan. (BTW, I am not Vegan, yet I LOVE the Tiew Gang Vegan.) They do everything well - the other curries, the standard noodle dishes, the dumplings - and it can be tempting to just go with your regular go-to dish like Pad Thai w/Chicken (BORRRINGG, but they do it well nonetheless.) You've gotta try the Tiew Gang Vegan. It's truly a once-in-a-year of eating out experience finding a dish this incredible. It competes pound-for-pound in the same heavy hitter weight class as the best Pho, Ramen, Jjamppong, or Beef Noodle Soup you've ever had. I've now been to Degthai 10 times, and have gotten the Tiew Gang Vegan the last 5 times in a row.
