Stopped in with friends and food was delicious! We started with Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice, which was delicious. Entrees: Pork Belly Dish, highly recommend and great sauce with it. Red Curry with Shrimp was also really good! Pad See Ewe with Beef was well seasoned! Dishes are a good portion to share! They have a full bar and enjoyed their Lychee Martini which was refreshing and not too sweet! I did have a gripe on our visit! We asked for the spice rack (4 condiment tray) and they brought it. Mid way they picked it up and we were in the middle of our meal. They said another table needed it (there were like 3 floating around). Come on, get more spice racks then - don't take it when it's being used. Service is usually good but this night I would give it a 2.5. None of the wait staff were the people we have had in the past. It seems that nobody knows this place is here! It's tucked in next to Galleria Mall in the old Red Robin location. The staff are amazing. They know allergies, they explain the heat scale, and they are patient! Bonus points for stocking Coke Zero. As the name suggests, they serve both Thai and Japanese dishes. I went with the rainbow roll as a starter. It was fresh, perfectly presented and they did not skimp on the seafood components. I ordered the Green Curry and it was a large portion. The presentation is really cool. They place the metal container atop a pedestal holding a lit coal to keep constant heat on the dish. If it gets too hot, simply blow out the flame. The bartender ( I think her name is Mia) was super sweet & informative. She walked us through the menu & offered some suggestions and she was very helpful and welcoming. This restaurant has it all. From tasty food, service, selection, cleanliness, and location. We met for a business dinner and everything from portion size to the flavors was an absolute yes. Having been a semi-regular at Thai Samurai, it's sad to say that my dining experience on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 6:30 pm might possibly be my last. I've reviewed more Thai, Japanese, and Thai-Japanese fusion restaurants than any other cuisines and I very rarely scrutinize the prices on the menu, let alone, for any business in general. But this time, I have to because their prices were somewhat on the high end before they updated their menus. Now, some of the prices on the sushi rolls have gone up from $5 more to twice their original price. For example, California roll is such a basic roll that used to cost $8 now costs $16 is egregious! California rolls are considered basic and shouldn't cost more than $10! It's unfortunate that my favorite salad, chicken larb, was taken off the menu due to its unpopularity. It's a classic Thai salad so taking it off was a shame, especially because they make it pretty authentically. Luckily, the kitchen was able to make it, but it was $3 more than it used to be. The crab fried rice was excellently seasoned and was very flavorful. Pad thai was on point - you can never go wrong with pad Thai here. The tom yum soup could use more tom yum flavors with the lemongrass. The broiled squid needed more broiling. Service was consistent and good. Overall, I'm deeply disappointed they adjusted the menus and the prices even though the quality and service had remained mostly the same. read more

The restaurant has nice decor. Everyone was friendly and the service was good. The fresh room was ok, I won't order it again. I got the Tonkatsu Ranen. Or was a large dish, and I could have easily shared it. It had a great flavor, however, there was only 1 small piece of pork. TONS of ramen. More pieces of pork and maybe, some veggies would have made this dish much better. My hubby got Basil Fried Rice, and said it was "the usual". We ordered & split the chicken teriyaki bento box with a california roll & the tennessee roll to split. The teriyaki chicken was flavored well but the quality of the chicken didn't hit for us. The TN roll was fire and we would def order it again! Random - the gold metal dishes are pretty but not that practical - painful on sensitive ears or those with easily triggers by the sounds. Food was the worst Thai I've eaten in Tennessee. Basil Chicken stirfry was ground chicken(?) that was a greasy mess with small bits of vegetables. The satay chicken was hard and cold and difficult to chew with peanut paste that was cold. Spring rolls were average with average sauce. Small bowl of white rice for two. I should know better than order a cheeseburger at a place like this but I sure did not expect to have a shrimp shell in my burger. Fries were cooked on outside and raw inside, cheese was ice cold.
