For a place that names a quintessential Thai dish in their business name this restaurant really falls short. We were looking for some Thai takeout and i figured I'd try something different. So we ordered online and headed to pick it up. Nothing we ordered was really something we can classify as "good". The Pad Thai is dry and flavorless. The Tom Ka soup is watery and not the sweet/savory mix we have come to love. $5 for two crab rangoons is highway robbery. Nothing from this place is worth giving a second chance. Today was actually the second time I have ate here, the first time was maybe a year ago and it is no where near real Thai food like you can get in CO But tried it again today and ordered it to pick up 1. I asked for spicy but there is virtually no seasoning at all - luckily I keep some sriracha in my work drawer 2. I asked for extra peanuts and there are no peanuts at all 3. NEVER AGAIN! Ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai Dinner from SIAM PAD THAI this week, only to discover, while eating my food, there was a a German cockroach in my mouth that had gotten into the food. These bugs are known for carrying bacteria and dirt. Absolutely disgusting. If this wasn't enough, the cashier offered me another plate of the obviously infected food!! Our experience here was great. We went for lunch. It is low key and not fancy, so if you're looking for fine dining, this isn't that speed. But the locals and other working folks in the area packed the joint for lunch with a line out the door, we were lucky we got there when we did! It's a little basic in terms of decor, and the seating is cafe style. The prices were great and the portions were substantial. It was an overall pleasant experience and what I would expect for Thai lunch in a bigger city. I've been eating Thai food for decades and this was the worst Thai food I've ever had...we got three different orders and all three were garbage. Super watery curry...messed up order that didn't include the beef (that we paid extra for!). We felt really sick after eating it, and could definitely taste that all the ingredients were super cheap. I always love to try new Thai places, but I regret coming here. We ate the Pad Thai. The little sauce it had was dry/flaky on the noodles. The flavor was bland, and noodles itself had a sticky texture. It tasted like it was leftover Pad Thai heated up in the microwave; not fresh at all. The portion that was given was huge, but that didn't matter to me. What mattered was the quality of the food. The waitress was not attentive at all. So disappointed tonight. Ordered online for pickup. Soup (Tom Ka with chicken) very watery to the point of flavorless. Crab rangoon was two very small pieces for $5, which is ridiculous. No flavor in any other parts of our order (yellow curry with shrimp cashew veg with fish). His first bite was temperature hot sans any flavor, texture for beef was like "chewing leather". The noodles were over cooked and inedible. My order: pineapple fried rice and chicken protein. Terrible. Absolutely terrible. The only way to describe it is it tasted like burnt soy sauce. Even tried to eat the pineapple that always has lots of flavor, even when canned!!! Nope. Burnt soy sauce is all i tasted. My partner tried to get one of the ladies attention a few times but she was sitting at a table who was way too into her phone to be bothered. Mind you we were the only ones in there besides 1 solo male diner. We got the other ladies attention to tell her we were disappointed with our meal. We told her we would pay for the appetizer but that our entrees were terrible and we wanted the check. We told her why we didn't like all the above mentioned items. She asked if we wanted something else, we declined given both our meals were awful. She brought the check and both our entrees were still on the check. We paid, albeit aghast the meals we didn't eat were on there. She kept saying but you didn't eat anything. We said, it's not good, we don't want to eat it, we don't want anything else and above all we shouldn't have to pay for it if we didn't eat it. She just audibly huffed and walked off. Now, backstory, we have eaten here over the years previously. Not sure if it's previous ownership but we will never be going back. The last time we ate here (pre pandemic) it wasn't fabulous but we were willing to give it another go bc in the past it was absolutely delightful. Well friends, those days are long gone. I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, which is about a 2-minute walk to Siam Pad Thai. I faithfully did my Yelp check-in and was rewarded with a pop up for a free egg roll! My take-out order was Pad Kee Mow (Drunken Noodles) described as "Wide rice noodles pan fried in mild chili paste with eggs, basil, mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions". The seafood option cost $14.95. Siam offers five spice levels 1 is very mild, 2 is mild, 3 is spicy, 4 is very spicy, and 5 is native hot. I ordered a 3, and was damn glad I didn't go for a 4! The noodles were terrific, with great flavor, great texture, lots of shrimp and scallops and calamari, and oh yes, plenty of heat! The egg roll was average, in a good way! My friend and I jumped off the plane with cravings for Thai Food. We wondered if Nashville could deliver. Based on "Yelpers" we chose Siam Pad Thai in Franklin. We stepped in around 7:30 and there was one large party and two small parties. Upon entry we were greeted and advised to select a seat wherever we desired. Pro- The server was a friendly young lady and greeted us Con- The same super friendly young lady had 3 different accents! We literally thought she was tricking us for Halloween Pro- The menu was awesome because there were various options and pictures of select meals to help you with your choices Con- No "sampler" options were available. With so many options it would have been nice to order a sampler plate. Pro- The Food was delivered quickly after ordering Con- To be honest, the food tasted like glorified Chinese Food vs Thai Food Pro-They offer "heat" options from 1 to 5 to allow you to choose your spice option As an appetizer, my friend had a vegetable egg roll with tasty and crisp vegetables inside. I had the Spicy Eggplant with Tofu which was very flavorful & the Tofu fried to perfection ;along with a separate order of Thai Rice which had no flavor at all! My friend had Pineapple Fried Rice which was way too "eggy" and lacked flavor and was not thoroughly cooked. We were so hungry we ate 1/2 of the meals despite our displeasure. OK, this place seriously rocked my socks off. Taking a break from furniture shopping, we stopped in to grab some food and were pleased to find they were open on a Sunday and over the holiday weekend. Our server was SO nice and friendly, he gave us the menus to look over and some crunchy fish flavored appetizers. They were really tasty! We had the tom kha soup to start with shrimp, then ordered the chicken drunken noodles and a beef broccoli dish. Since we had ordered soup as an appetizer, our waiter let us opt for egg rolls instead. YUM! They have the BEST tom kha soup I've ever had. Seriously. It was delicious, and I've eaten a lot of varieties of those soups! I loved it. Our main dishes were awesome too, such a good flavor and plenty of food for 10 bucks. My only complaint; mine was supposed to come with bamboo shoots and it didn't and I LOVE them. I was definitely saddened by that! Plus our waiter made a big deal about me ordering my dish 4/5 spicy and yet it wasn't that spicy... bummer. Even with the minor issues, I was really blown away by this place. We ordered through Doordash. The food arrived hot! We enjoyed the Lad and the Pad Kra Prao dinner. We were not fans of the fried tofu and the Tom Ka soup was not the best I have tasted (very watery and lacking the coconut layer of flavor). Our chicken wings had great flavor but were over cooked. Dr. Seuss I am not. But a fan of Siam, I am. Classic Thai (some Asian fusion) with powerful flavors and a heat index you can choose to suit your tastes. (A word of caution...#5 is definitely for native taste buds.) Number 4 brought the heat for me and it was spot on....thankfully there were plenty of extra paper napkins for teary eyes and a sniffling nose. Lowdown on the low: Started with a complimentary, relatively nondescript, standard issue, deep-fried veggie egg roll. Slight after-taste of old or fishy oil, plus the dipping sauce had no body and about as much flavor. Meh. Movin' on up: Rice paper wrapped Siam Summer Rolls come filled with fresh veggies and rice noodles (add meat if you like - but the veggie was just fine). Big in size, average in flavor. Pull it all together with the accompanying peanut dipping sauce. The sauce was thin but had a bit more character than the appetizer's sweet and sour dipping sauce. Soup-er Soup: One of "our" favorites (and a signature of good Thai for me) Siam's Tom Yum had great flavor with hints of lemongrass and Makrut (nee kaffir) Lime. Straw mushrooms swimming with chunks of tomato (too big), scallions and galanga filled the bowl with more veggies than many other restaurants add to theirs. (I definitely missed not having the chewy texture of Wood ear mushrooms as a part of the mixture.) Hittin' my HOT spot: My entree of Pad Woo Sen (pan-fried glass noodles) was just right! A generous portion of noodles mixed with slightly crunchy fine-chopped Napa cabbage, a bit of scrambled egg, bamboo shoots, and a few carrots was liberally sprinkled with pepper flakes and drizzled ever-so-lightly with sesame oil. I found the bean sprout garnish simply superfluous. While I did not try either, Siam Pad Thai offers both Green Papaya and Green Mango salad. A good sign for future dining delights. Too much for one lunch....so I need to make plans to return for dessert...perhaps the sweet mango and sticky rice...definitely much better than Green Eggs and Ham. We found this restaurant a little hard to find because it was below the sightline from the road. It is next to the Walgreen's on the northwest corner of the intersection. Red Curry with duck was excellent. Savory, spicy, and rich, there was a generous amount of duck breast. The Pad Thai was good, not so good as my favorite Phoo Ket, but decent for this area. The pad Thai I ordered last time was pretty greasy and bland. Today, my office ordered about 13 lunches. Absolutely terrible on every level. Not one lunch was appetizing. Everything was either bland or so sweet that it was inedible. I got a paht phet very spicy and it is sweeter than the coke I had. From the cashew chicken, to pad Thai, pad kaprao, everything was horrible. We also asked for some extra hot sauce on the side and they sent about a teaspoon of siracha for 13 people. This restaurant is located in the beautiful city of Franklin and offers a variety of food. My first impression walking in was that the interior needed some work, but I'm not judging the food by this because some of the best food comes from places that look just like this. With almost a dozen appetizers to choose from, there's something for everyone! For once in our lives, we decided to refrain from appetizers (don't judge us!). We were craving Pad Thai, so we ordered fairly quick and for the little one we opted for the Kids Lo Mein. Our server got our drinks and order taken in a timely fashion, and she made sure we had everything we needed. Arriving first to the table was the Pad Thai with beef. It didn't look as appealing as we had anticipated mostly due to the discoloring of the beef (it was pale but this may be due to different cooking methods), but this dish was tasty! My choice of Pad Thai with chicken arrived quickly after, and I have no complaints. Lastly, the Kids Lo Mein made its way to the table and upon first glance it didn't look like the typical lo mein, but it smelled yummy and my child loved it!
