Very delicious Chinese food, I highly recommend for anyone that loves Chinese food. Service took 30 minutes because it was holiday.

Situated in a small plaza between a T-Mobile and a local alteration shop just a block off of Murfreesboro Road, Asian Taste is your quintessential local Chinese spot showcasing all the classics from the faded and dated food pictures on the wall to the large paper menus along with all the classic dishes we love! I am always on the hunt for a solid pick-up Chinese spot and usually wait until I am closer to home to scoop up the food, but decided to give Asian Taste a try recently and get it right after work. Online ordering process was simple, not a huge fan of the 7% processing fee, but the prices were fair so I pushed through. Quoted time of 25 minutes was spot on. When I walked in the door, they were walking from behind the curtain with my order. As noted in previous reviews, I always judge a Chinese spot by their wonton soup...and Asian Taste came through with some of the best wonton soup I have had in the area! In addition to the tasty soup, we got sesame chicken with fried rice and an egg roll, and house lo mein. The egg roll was more of a spring roll, but it was fried to perfection and packed with the goods, so again, I let it slide. All the food was hot and delicious, and plentiful. Pricing was not bad, including the fees, tax and a tip, we spent around $32, which is not bad at all! If you are interested in dining in, there are several booths and tables. The dining room was well kept and clean. Overall, really enjoyed Asian Taste. Definitely will be added to the rotation for those weeknight Chinese dinners! read more

Food On point. From the crispness of the egg rolls, had shrimp and pork, to the perfectly cooked rice, nice fry on the General Tso's chicken. Really appreciated the contrast in textures and how everything was hot when I got home and done well. Service I ordered takeout and it was ready in about 20mins. If you like meat that doeant taste or chew like meat and the chicken and beef taste the same like fake gelatin infused meat than this is a great place for you. For everyone else that likes actual real chicken and beef and shrimp then run the other way! My wife and I have found that Bamboo House in Cool Springs is excellent and way more worth the $4 more per meal to get actual quality food. I wouldn't even eat the leftovers because its that gross! The only positives are the fried rice is okay and the chicken in it actually tastes like real chicken, but very bland and not seasoned at apl. If you only want spring rolls they were good...however, on the menu they are the same price as egg rolls but if you switch them out on your dinner meal they will charge you more. Can't say enough about this place and how bad the food is. Side note....lo mein noodles are so thick and fat that its its the only reason you may get full....and they lack flavor too. read more

Great place to get authentic Chinese. I have been coming here for years because the food is consistently good. You might want to take some time to steady the menu because they offer an extensive menu. I like some spice, so I get General Chicken, with white rice and broccoli. Everything is very fresh. We came here Christmas Day for a pick up order. I have never seen this place so crowded! We waited in line for 40 mins but you could tell the staff was trying their best to accommodate the large volume of orders. This place used to be very good around a year ago. We just had it again last night and it was absolutely aweful! We ordered a chicken dish beef dish, and a shrimp dish. As I just read from many others with the same type of review about their meat, the bedf and chicken does not have the right consistency to be only that.... Its like beef gelatin or chicken gelatin! Its soft and mushy and barely have to chew it! Gross! The shrimp was similar. Their lo mein noodles were so wide/fat that 4 could fill you up. Very surprised given the reviews on how generic lackluster the food is here. If you're used to New York Chinese food, you will not like this place. I would compare it to Taco Bell if you like Mexican. Very disappointed very average quality very generic. This place is nothing special and the reviews do not accurately reflect the food here. We've been on the road for a family trip and we are dropping into places after many hours driving. We scout restaurants with Yelp and sometimes the most important criterion is "open now." That's how we landed Asian Taste. It was the one thing my wife, son and I could agree on after a long Sunday driving from Milwaukee towards Tallahassee. This is clearly the kind of place that serves a lot more takeout than table service. That's a shame. The food was quite good. The dishes were attractive and the prices were more than reasonable. Apparently the hours listed for Sunday night were incorrect and we cut things a little too close but we were served graciously and never disturbed to rush out after a busy day and night. This was our first time finding Chinese take-out since moving. It was easy to place an order online and the pick up time was very reasonable. We ordered honey chicken (which was breaded, so not the way we're used to having it), chicken lo mien (the noodles were good, but very thick) and Kung Pao chicken with medium level spice (it had not been cooked in peanut oil, so my husband actually added a little peanut butter to the dish as a substitute). 3.5 I've sampled dishes from Asian Taste several times before as a guest at a family dinner where takeout-carry home was the modus operandi. Today was the first time I actually ate in the restaurant and I definitely recommend this as the way to appreciate what Asian Taste has to offer. We've been searching for a Chinese restaurant that has at least some of the characteristics of ones we've found in our travels. Right now, Asian Taste hits closest to home. (although not a home run...it's definitely an extra bases hit.) One of the benchmarks we look for are the quality of the soups and Asian Taste has one that scores fairly well. The Hot and Sour soup is thick, tangy and spicy hot (and served piping hot - so be careful). There are plenty of thinly sliced mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and pieces of tofu with a bit or two of pork mixed in. Flavor is hearty. WonTon Soup with its dark-clear broth and meat-filled dumplings came in second but pales in comparison flavor-wise. My wife and daughter love the Lemon Chicken, a Chef's Speciality, while I prefer something a bit spicier. Today I chose Szechuan Chicken, loaded with thin slices of sauce-coated meat and plenty of lightly stir fried vegetables. I only wish I had asked for spicier. This dish was a bit bland in that regard. If you decide to visit, be advised that this restaurant has an "order at the register" near the back of the store, then choose a table. Your food will be delivered as it is prepared. I actually sat with a friend for nearly 5 minutes with no acknowledgment from the wait staff (place was empty). Finally another pair of diners entered, sat down and looked at menus, then got up to order. (Signs guiding first-timers to the order-station-cash register would be a big help.) Also the place filled to near capacity as we ate...so be aware this place is popular. And the menu is huge...plan accordingly. read more

Did they change ownership? This place used to be 5-star, best in Franklin for Chinese. But I went last nite for takeout for the first time in a few months, and the food has completely changed. The flavors in the Szechuan Beef aren't as bold, not as spicy. The Shrimp and Mushrooms is just that: shrimp and mushrooms. Nothing else. It used to have other vegetables and richer sauce. This place is still good but not great. And nothing compares to how good it used to be for the last 6-7 years that I've been eating here. Super disappointing. After reminiscing about a Chinese restaurant from college that we would always get food from, we decided to call Asian Taste. It was surprisingly hard to communicate with the owner/front desk person. I asked if they delivered, he said yes. Then minutes later he said it'll be ready for pick up in 20 mins. Huh? Verdict? They don't deliver. The food was ok at best and exactly what you expect from middle of the road Chinese food. It's tasty and the value is in quantity, not quality. The issue here is the customer service. When I came to pick this up, the bill was significantly higher than was mentioned. Rather than simply correcting the mistake, the owner proceeded to explain to me that I had ordered incorrectly on the menu and got the larger portion. Their menu was unclear and names of items were repeated but with different prices. As a first time customer, I wasn't aware of this. Needless to say, I would not return to this place. Real solid Chinese American takeout. Moved here from NYC where I had at least Chinese American takeouts close by to order from within a few blocks. Each had their best dishes. I tried a place in Brentwood and a place in Franklin both were terrible. You would have been better off getting the frozen stuff from Trader Joe's. I lost hope until I stumbled upon Asian Taste. Don't let the cover of the book fool you. This place is actually one of the best Chinese places that I have tried between Franklin and Spring Hill. Their dumplings are oh so delicious. I have had Thai and Chinese dishes here. They are all good with a lot of good portion. I am doing a 3 star because this is the 2nd time that I have ordered way early on "BeyondMenu" during lunch to not have my order ready on pickup time. Today I ordered an hour early and came right on time (11:50am). I had to wait for the people in line which is understandable, but after taking 10 minutes for me to finally get to the counter, they didn't have my order ready and was still "working on it". I asked them what is the use for me to order an hour early. He said that if they made it too early it would be cold...which was a bunch of crap because this was at least 15 minutes after it was supposed to be done when I got it in my hands.
