we came here to eat the buffets. It was very disappointing. The price IS too good to be true. The buffet was $18 but the sushi was made of cheap materials and no salmon or tuna. Sad, just sad. Came here on a Wednesday evening to experience the rotating sushi bar. Was just our table and one other. For AYCE, not worth it, the sushi chef kept making the same rolls over and over. There was a roll that had 3 different sauces on it that looked like someone squeezed a tube of Aquafresh toothpaste on it. Decor was drab. I ordered water and the server actually caught a glimpse of something swimming in my glass and she ran to get me a fresh one. Once we got full the chef comes over and announces he's going to make different rolls, we respectfully declined as we had gotten full on the repeats that kept coming down the conveyor. Also the containers that covered the individual plates of sushi were grimy. Won't be coming here again. read more

I agree with the other 1 star reviewers. I hate giving bad reviews and my purpose in giving one is mainly so the establishment will improve as a result. If you are a sushi fan, you will be disappointed. Rice was stale and hard. Conveyor belt had little variety and the hot items were not hot any longer. Hand made rolls took a long time to be made. Wasabi and ginger had no kick. Salmon on the nigiri had a big white chewy section left on it. Expensive for poor quality. Stopped here on my way through Tennessee. Went to this one because it was the only one open at 9. Sure, it was 9 pm on a Thursday night, but the sushi was the worst sushi I've ever eaten. Bodeli Sushi is one of the neatest lunch experiences in Middle Tennessee, home of the sushi conveyor belt. No matter where you sit, the food samples just endlessly float by your table. No menu necessary. Everyone should try it once! It's like going on a cruise and being able to stuff your face while daringly trying anything and everything for one fixed price! Pros: The set price here, at lunch time, is a reasonable $12.95. For that meager sum you can grab whatever ambles by, chowing down on a decent variety of sushi. The deep-fried pepper is very good! With no wait for food preparation, you can satisfy your appetite in 15 minutes during the lunch rush. Cons: The wait staff is scarce, so you don't get any refills of water. I was practically choking by the end of this excursion. That also makes it hard to get the check so you can rush back to work. The sushi isn't the best quality, but it's good enough for the price. The wasabi isn't hot, the crab is imitation only, the spring rolls are okay, and they offer straight up sushi only, no nigiri or sashimi. But at such a bargain, why would I expect them to have eel, octopus, or shrimp? This is not that place. read more

We have been on a crusade to find some really good sushi. We have been on a crusade to find some really good sushi in Brentwood, Spring Hill or Franklin. We come upon a small plaza where Bodeli Sushi is located. There are a few tables and a counter to sit and enjoy your sushi. There is also a conveyor belt running through the entire restaurant lined up with sushi. In the middle of the restaurant behind the counter there is a very talented sushi chef making everything fresh. The plates are color coded and there is a chart on the wall so you know how much each color coded plate costs. They range from $1.00 to $3.50. You can also order from a menu or have all you can eat for $19.95. This place is great because the sushi chef will interact with you while you are eating. The staff is always very helpful. They check on you nonstop to make sure you don't need anything. There are lots of choices. Every roll that we have tried has been delicious. One of the rolls the chef made for us had a sliver of lemon on it. I have never had a piece of sushi like that. It was delicious. The sliver of lemon seemed to clean you palate as you chew the bite. We love sushi so the all you can eat is a great deal for us. If you are nice to Chef Alex he may let you try all his favorites like he did with us. It was awesome. I give Bodeli Sushi 5 guitars. Against all the other reviews we tried this place out mostly out of proximity. BIG mistake!! Selection was paltry and place looked like it was out of a scene from "Hoarders". Boxes stacked everywhere, dirty dishes still on tables. During our visit, after 12-15 of just sitting there, finally waitress comes over and we ask about the process. She points to an obscure sign that has the potential prices based off color of plate, or you could spend $25 for all-you-can-eat. She never asks which one we want, so we proceed to eat. I get a dish and my wife asks what it is, so in give her a piece...OMG you'd thought I'd spat on the conveyer. Old Japanese man yells "No sharing!!" I ask why and he only repeats himself. This agitated me and I ask him if it's all you can eat OR buy by the dish what does it matter. He repeats himself. At this point I'm done and only 3 plates in for me and my wife. The waitress come over and asks if everything is ok, which I tell her we no longer wish to partake in their dining services. So, instead of us eating and enjoying a mediocre diner we leave and only having 6 min plates total. We tip the waitress almost 50% as she was the only pleasant thing in this experience. This was my first conveyer belt sushi experience. While the sushi was decent, most of the pieces had something spicy added to them, and I prefer non-spicy rolls. I also experienced the same problem as mentioned previously with not knowing exactly what you're getting, as they plates are not labeled. We sat in front of one of the sushi chefs, and he was kind enough to tell us what each one was, but I guess it's probably better for them to be labeled as opposed to constantly bugging the chef. The chef, however, was very nice, friendly and curteous. Unique rolls to try are the Tina Roll (with thin lemon slices on top), the Strawberry roll and the Ashley roll (includes jalapenos, but it was still not too terribly spicy for me). I thought the prices were slightly less for the serving size when comparing to how much you would normally get with a full roll. This makes for a good way to try out several different rolls. read more

This place has more going for it because of the conveyor system, each order on the conveyor is a half of a regular order, and individually is cheap enough, but i had 5 plates, and side salad, and my bill was about 18 dollars. If I had it to do over again, I would definitely order the items fresh off the menu, unless I was in a hurry or something. Would be good if you only had a 30 minute lunch and wanted to drop in for a quick bite, but the sushi stayed on the conveyor too long in my opinion. Definitely a fun place to go just to see the spectacle of it all, but there are definitely better sushi places out there. So maybe go once for the fun, and pick what looks good as it comes by, but if you want to be sure what your are getting, and want it made fresh, order form the menu. read more

Turns out that too much of a bad thing is still a bad thing. Despite my better judgement, I went to Bodeli's for the All You Can Eat sushi lunch. Even adjusted for the dearth of attractive options in Cool Springs, this was a disappointment. While I'm hesitant to take a shot at a local business, it is a disservice to fill this space with false praise like so many others. I didn't come here looking to make friends or be treated like family, I came for lunch and will never be back. During the course of our extensive AYCE experience there was not a single offering that would stand on its merit on an a la carte menu. The centerpiece of the restaurant is a literal conveyor belt of mediocrity snaking through the restaurant and delivering well known sushi staples: sweet potato, overripe strawberries, banana, cream cheese, faux crab relish and crab stick. 60% of the rolls had featured cream cheese and/or sweet potato. When you tire of that, don't worry - it's all coming back, but this time deep fried and smothered in enough sauce to make Paula Deen blush. Every item motors past your table covered by an opaque plastic cover, obscuring the contents beneath - the covers were originally clear, they're just old. Do you prefer your California roll drenched in cream sauce? Too bad - it's yours just for checking! We diligently searched for anything with fresh fish, and every so often we'd hit the lottery (less than 10% of the time). But the majority of this meal was a comedy of errors and strange juxtapositions. It felt like the chef was clearing out of fridge of random contents, rather than crafting rolls with any sort of forethought. Even the salad (the throw away layer of a head of iceberg lettuce) drenched in dressing and the soup (made from a mix?) missed the mark. Maybe the economics of AYCE sushi in a suburban strip mall in Middle Tennessee don't work for $17.99. My two friends and I ate here and had a horrible experience! The conveyor belt had little to almost no sushi on it. I myself, don't eat sushi so I ordered the fried rice. My friends said the sushi wasn't the best, but we didn't think anything of it. The next day BOTH of my friends woke up with horrific food poisoning.
