Iced Kona Mocha
Suri S.

Came here strictly for the Kona Mocha Latte, so I can't review on food. I did a quick online order to pick up while on my afternoon Sunday stroll. Employees were all very nice and friendly. Kona coffee flavor was prominent, with some chocolate but not overpowering the delicate flavors. Would come back to try food next time too. Located inside the Ilikai Hotel.

the tip that was automatically added even after we did tip. Just noticed the part about paying by card or cash. We did pay cash that night.
Raenae G.

Located at Ilikai Hotel. There was 8 of us in our party and the host said they don't take reservations on Friday nights because of the hula show and fireworks. After a 30 minute wait, the host decided to seat us in the dining room instead of the patio area. This was perfect because we had the whole place to ourselves. Our server, Jason, did the best he could to get what we needed despite the fact that 1) I don't think they were expecting to have us in the dining room and 2) we still had to ask more than once to get waters refilled or to get silverware. The food came simultaneously as the fireworks started so we were able to view them right by our table. Our server told us we could go out the balcony for our own private viewing! Everyone loved their food. The steaks were cooked as requested and they enjoyed it. My mom liked her shrimp. We had nachos as an appetizer and it was enough for everyone. The portions were generous. Then as a treat, our server played the piano for us. Overall, the dining experience on this evening was amazing. My daughter had the best birthday so far! Thank you crew team. They do have hotel valet services for $6 for four hours with validation. The only concern that I had for this evening was the tipping portion. I know as a patron I/we should have looked at our bill. We overlooked the part where they automatically added the tip to the bill. I'm assuming they did this since we are a bigger party. But what constitutes a big party - 6, 7, 8, etc.? There was nothing on the menu or any signs that said the tip (20%) would be automatically included for bigger parties. Next time, I will look through my bill thoroughly and not double tip!

Mochi gluten free pancakes

Excellent little hidden gem The food was yummy My wife loved the gluten free mochi pancakes and ordered them twice during our stay. Light fluffy mochi pancakes served with maple syrup. I had the half papaya filled with yogurt and granola the two days and thought it was delicious! Fresh papaya, yummy yogurt and crunchy granola. Sprinkled with honey, very yummy! The service was wonderful. Friendly waiter very helpful and personable. Always filled our glass with water or our cup with coffee. The ambiance is friendly and comfortable and they have live music in the evenings as well. Much a relaxing place to be!

Solid smash burger and a wide range of food items at this grille near Ilikai Hotel in Waikiki. Also a good location to watch sports.

Chips, homemade Pico de gallo, homemade guacamole

Servers are great, very friendly. Food is delicious and they have happy hour. Fish tacos, Kailua pork breakfast burrito, and teriyaki chicken were all good. Chips and guacamole were YUM but the homemade pico de gallo was watery and bland (very disappointing).

Burger and chicken sliders

"Touristy bar food" that sums it up, food is blah and meh, nacho's with pork (assuming it's supposed to be Kalua pig/Kalua pork) was cold, reddish orange(?) with too much smoke flavoring - not good, chips were stale, gross. Burgers are ok, I think menu is targeted for the tourists with limited fresh local flavors and ingredients. We only came here because cousins were staying at the Ilikai. One redeeming fact is they have a nice view of Waikiki (only if you are seated outside). We came here late, 9:00 pm maybe that's why there was lack of service, where we had to flag down our server. Desserts are better than their food.

BAD EGGS - not scrambled soft.
Craig S.

If you're a breakfast place, eggs should be a basic skill. Unfortunately, that's not the case here. I ordered scrambled eggs, soft, and instead received something resembling an overcooked egg pancake. How does this even leave the kitchen? This was my second attempt at ordering eggs here. The first time, my plate arrived buried under so much pepper it was completely black. They apologized, saying it was intended for another table, took it back, and then returned with the overcooked eggs. I didn't have time to try a third time. I miss Cinnamon's. The quality here is disappointing, and I won't be returning. With Cinnamon's and Pesca's gone, we're running out of good breakfast options on this side of Waikiki.

Shrimp Scampi

Breakfast review: 4 stars I ordered the Da Benny benedict which had smoked kiawe pork. It was a nice change in flavors but the meat was a bit hard to chew. Maybe that's how this type of pork is. Don't know. My daughter ordered the avocado toast and a side of fried rice. Both were decent. They need to use a different type of bread for the avocado toast. Dinner review: 2 stars. I ordered the cheddar burger. It needed help. Better beef. Better toppings. Pretty boring. One daughter ordered the Shrimp Scampi. She said it was "dry and barely had any taste" (she's in culinary school). My other daughter had some sort of salad. She was disappointed because it had a lot of avocado that was not ripe. Some things are pretty good but they are not consistent.

I had two meals here while staying at the Ilikai. The first was dinner with family and I had the pineapple chicken served in a pineapple. It was okay but would have loved some cut up pineapple within the dish that had a lot of rice and lacked flavor except when you got some pineapple flavor off the cut out pineapple. However the chicken was cooked nicely and tasted good. There was music which was very loud so hard to hear those at our table. The other meal I had was lunch where I had the Kailua pork sandwich that came with fries and was quite good. The fries were crisp and the toppings were tasty. I did enjoy that meal.

I'm confused. Have to go there on Saturday at lunch. Do I park in the Ilikai parking entrance on Hobron Lane between Red Lobster and Chart house? If I do valet, where is the valet located? Do I enter Hobron Lane or elsewhere?

I recommend valet parking and ask restaurant staff to validate. The entrance to the hotel valet service is along Ala Moana Blvd, not Hobron Lane.

Is there valet parking?

Yes, $6 dollars for four hours with restaurant validation.

This was a year ago, I didn't get a chance to until recently. I wanted to check out Sweet Mango's showroom which happens to be at The Pineapple Patio. From what I read, they do pop up events at The Pineapple Patio. The location of The Pineapple Patio is on South King St. right after the pet hospital and Central Pacific Bank. Stay on your far left lane as South King St. is one way. Make a left when you see State Farm Insurance. What I dislike about this place is the parking lot. Parking is very limited and very tight. I had a hard time parking my vehicle and hard time getting out. Once you find parking, you hit the buzzer for your pop up business and someone will come down to open the glass door for you. Walk up the stairs and you will see all the different vendors. During my visit to The Pineapple Patio, I had to pick up my son and was in a rush. I didn't get to browse around to the other vendors. What caught my eyes were all the plant and succulent across of the Sweet Mango's showroom, I wanted to check it out but had to leave right after. I will check it out when I have more time. Sweet Mango's products and showroom is so neat and organized. I loved the pineapple design prints on most of the merchandise, it is so nice and colorful. I had to get a pineapple print Turkish towel in green for me and a towel for my mom for Mother's day. Besides Sweet Mango Hawaii, some of the Vendors at the event were Tidepool Love, Kahulale'a, Aloha Dreamboard, and The Writing Desk. I read that it is best to check Instagram/social media's Pineapple Patio page for the upcoming events. What a great idea and great place to get your shopping done!

Another thing that I'm thinking about is possibly holding a bridal shower here in the future. Looks like a perfect venue to rent out and cater food at. (Not necessary to get catering, but definitely an option) They also rent out their furniture and plants that they have showcased around the patio. Super cute place and hope to be back soon!

As a child, I remember admiring and wondering who lived in this estate that borders Kapiolani Park…read more It was once known as the Winstead House that was built around the early-1900's. The estate was huge as it included horse stables, garages for horse-drawn carriages (later for automobiles), surrounded by undulating and well-manicured landscaping. The estate once extended from the intersection of Diamond Head Road and Paki Avenue to Kapahulu Avenue, around where Jefferson Elementary now stands. Back in 1992, the house was dedicated to the City and County of Honolulu. During 2003 - 2006, the C&C did a lot of renovation to the property and had a lot of concerns about its maintenance and use. Prior to its dedication by the Winstead descendants and the C&C renovation of this property, the Diamond Head Neighborhood Board held community meetings or gatherings. This property was also used as a backdrop to some local television shows..uh, anyone remember Magnum P.I.? To date, I don't know whether or not they have been permitted to continue using the space as such. Currently, there are offices that occupy its basement area by the Parks & Recreation administrative staff. All I can say is that if I worked in this facility, it would be very difficult to get any work done. I'd be wowed by the cool, gentle breezes, sunny blue skies and close proximity of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach. But, that's what makes this property perfect for the Parks & Recreation to own and manage! #306

Place is AWESOME!!! I totally forgot about this location for events too! Shoots!…read more They can hold over 300 people sitting side by side for a screening, move or even music or dancing. Usually m, people have to figure out what to do or where to go at these events, no?! Lol. But this was a once in a lifetime experience for us and it was AWESOME! Of course my son didn't want to watch himself on screen, but, we all loved it! He did well. In fact, they ALL DID! Every single film was done excellent! I wish we could've stayed for the whole thing, but unfortunately we had to leave early because the kids had school the next day. So we left around 9pm. Maybe next time we'll have a better chance in watching our son on screen again. Soon! For sure... Ok that's about it! OH! And the restroom! Oh my... it's an experience to have. Lol! It's amazing! One door for ALL to enter. Then as you pass the main door, your in the lobby of the restroom. Like they have in fancy theaters or auditoriums or hotels. Yup! Only difference is, there's no seats or chairs to lounge on. There's a long marble counter top with about 5 individual sinks. Each side accessible for anyone to wash up. Mirrors along the wall. And then the MENS DOOR for their restroom is on the left and the WOMENS on the right. Ever the bathroom stalls were cozy. Toilet seats were nice and comfy, not those public restroom toilets. But the hotel kine. Just without the extra fancy buttons. It's definitely somewhere anyone should go and see. Especially when they host an event there. OK NOW IM DONE! Thanks for reading!
