So our wedding was a 5/5 experience but management is definitely old school and could use a lot of work. There is no texting, only a landline, and an email to work with. Good luck reaching anyone via email. To have a 6 hour wedding with 50 people, it costs roughly 10k for the space (about average when you factor in lighting, furniture and seating at other venues) but you have to pay for you own prep time. Only an hour is complimentary, so if you want to add any personal touches at all you basically need to pay for that time. Considering you're paying 10k, the fact that one is not allowed to leave decor at the venue is super unreasonable. There was no event going on the day prior except for our own rehearsal. So we were to bring everything we could on our own day of, and beg our wedding planner to help. They claimed it was for "liability purpose" yet I was allowed to leave my dress grossing 2800 at the venue and not my $10 box of flowers... and the lightning that was already hanging cost $750 to allegedly rehang. Who knows why that needed $750. There were claims that there was not enough space to leave any belongings or purchase enough chairs for my guests, but from what I can see it's just badly organized. There's a massive stack of CDs in front of the bridal room coated with so much dust you can barely read the titles. There's all kinds of knick knacks everywhere by the piano. The dust in the bridal room is bore line scary when you look closely, the chandelier had dead flowers and cobwebs. The frames are coated with dust. Again, the wedding itself was beautiful but for 10k you'd think someone could be paid $200 to come in there to clean. I sincerely have no idea what my 10k went towards since the Morgage on the house is non existent according to Zillow. Emails were rarely answered in a timely manner, which is tough if you're a bride organizing almost everything. and their sweet sweet dog who was advertised as a ring bearer apparently only performed this service one time prior and got side tracked and pulled my flower girl into the bushes. I love that kind of silliness and don't blame the dog one bit. But it certainly feels like false advertising to say that this dog is willing to do the service but come day of my planner told me of all the weddings she'd aided there, she's never seen it happen once. We had a great wedding, but it's massively overpriced for how little effort is going in on the home owner's end. A beautiful scam. 3 stars for my guest's wonderful experience but not to my own chaotic one.

Community gathering to swap unwanted items going instantly to homes is nothing more than a great way to support those that are looking for items as well as I've overheard folks saying that that don't have much is so unfortunate and there nothing more that makes me happy than to see my items snatched which I did and it felt great. Love the loft vibe they have here and the location as it offers very easy parking and hope that they continue to have events like this as everyone had a great time finding new items to their wardrobe which they also provide fitting room as well. Unfortunately for me, I've never had the chance to dine at 3660 On The Rise when it was a restaurant, but it appears that the business has changed from a restaurant format, to a food catering banquet hall. A few of my classmates had planned our 40th reunion a few years back, and since the event was so successful, they planned another venue at the same property again. The room where we had the party was pretty spacious, the food was excellent, & the banquet workers were nice & efficient. Time really passes quickly, & you should make the most of each day that you have, because ya never know what's around the corner. Several of my classmates have already passed away, and a few other classmates have encountered severe health issues. It was great to reconnect with a few of my classmates that I haven't seen in over 40+ years. Hopefully I'll still be around to celebrate out 50th in the near future. Lol!

Nā Kūpuna Makamae: "The Beloved Seniors"…read more Thanks to fellow Yelper, Jessica P, for pointing out this newly opened senior center located in the former Kaka'ako pumping station. This bold stone former public works building has the distinction of being designed by the same architect of the luxurious Moana Hotel (The First Lady of Waikīkī), Oliver G. Traphagen. The Community Center is open weekdays only from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. They do offer services and programs dedicated to the seniors, their families and community. They feature class programs which one can sign up through annual membership of NKM (Nā Kūpuna Makamae) and classes are held on Tuesday through Friday. They offer classes such as Hawaiian Language, Culture & Literture, Tai Chi for Arthritis & Fall Prevention, Lauhala Weaving, Qigong Mindful Training, Pua Culture/Lei Making, Hanafuda, Hula and Yoga & Sound Bath. They offer programs to acquaint the elderly with the digital age so they can overcome their "fears" or hesitancy to learning something new. There are programs geared for the more tech savvy, too. Annual membership to NKM costs $20/single or $35/dual (2 per family). However, as fans of Farmers' Markets, we made note of the schedule that Jessica posted and it was our plan to check it out. The Farmers' Market is held monthly on the 2nd and 4th Friday from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (as supplies last). We walked through the open parking lot where there were 5 food vendors who pitched their tents featuring various foods. I suppose it was because we were there just at noon, there was just a smattering of customers who also were discovering this senior center. The vendors that we saw were: - Olay's Thai Express - Aloha Beef Chips - Papi's Empanadas - The Pig & The Lady - Hawaii Sugarcane Juice We walked into the air-conditioned building and found more vendors selling baked goods, fresh fruits & vegetables, lip care products, local fragrances and cosmetics and press-on nails. There was a Community Center worker who graciously provided us with brochures and informed us about the upcoming programs that they hold in this building and membership to NKM. NKM is expanding its campus and even offers this historic site as venue rental. We purchased a couple of fresh papayas and eggplants for only $5 from the gal who was stationed at that table. I considered purchasing a hand of apple bananas but I thoughtfully considered the fact that my husband would be the one carrying our purchases so I didn't want to add more weight into that bag as we walked to this Community Center. As we stepped out of the building, there were more customers (nearby workers from other businesses or other residents) who were buying their lunches and beverages from the vendors in the parking lot. It was good to see more people exploring the Farmers' Market and this Community Center. We're looking forward to becoming members of Nā Kūpuna Makamae and taking part in some of those classes.

What got me super excited for this event they have called "Clothing Swap Party" how cool is that! Just bring your unneeded clothing, shoes and purses and who doesn't have that what they do is have these tables and racks to hang and layout your clothing where we are allowed to browse and see the potential item you like to add to your wardrobe. Also there is The Skin Institute with students ready to provide a consultation on your skin condition and products they'd recommend to treat it. I had a delightful student Esthetician named Sstarr and went over my skin which I assumed and the course of products she recommend, along with a coupon for 10% off facial is a great start to a glowing complexion. I did find a shirt but wasn't really looking for a swap like so many here were delightfully enthusiastic just to see it going somewhere that will be loved and appreciated than the trash or lost in the donation bin, which isn't where what's left is going to a non-profit...fabulous! Once the swap was basically done I did get to browse around the area which looked like a fun lofty vibe with different pods and seating area and kitchen is super cute! Yay! Thanks, Amy! I actually parked for free right across the street at Whole Foods. Impact Hub does have it's own parking lot, and you can get validation. Inside, the workspace (available for rent) is clean, colorful, and spacious. There are restrooms, showers, telephone booths, desks, chairs, tables, a kitchen with microwave, and a plain white wall for projections... This is where we gathered and watched the story of Fred Rogers of the television show, "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood". This venue was perfect for a casual get together. Tonight's event was sponsored by PBS. There was a good variety of snacks - and water was available in reusable cups. Afterwards, I realized that I had been here before. My friend's wife graduated from esthetician school at this place! Wow...it's a versatile space!

I saw some…read moreTiktoks a few years ago of tufting class and was sad that we didn't have anything like that here. So when I was looking for activities, I was so excited to see this class show up! We had to reschedule one time but they were super understanding and I was easily able to reschedule on the Airbnb app! The owner Chiara, was super friendly and welcoming when we arrived! She went through all the steps and safety to ensure our experience was seamless. We brought our own designs and got them approved by her but she also has examples you can use as inspiration too. If you bring your own design, for first timers I recommend something simple with simple lines and colors so you don't feel too rushed. You also have to draw your own design on the canvas but done worry too much if you're not confident in your drawing skills. The process is very forgiving so it'll still turn out good even if you don't draw your design perfectly! We had so much fun and loved how our pieces turned out! I highly recommend booking a tufting class here to anyone!
