Meeple's Brew is tucked in a strip mall with indoor and outdoor seating. I came here around 9 on a Friday and the cafe had plenty of room to get some work done. The shop has a board game theme and all the food menu items are named accordingly. There are also plenty of board games and big tables to play the games. In the morning, it is a great, calm place to get some work done while you enjoy a cup of coffee. I had the cold brew with oat milk and it was probably some of the best cold brew I've had in a while. They served the cold brew in a cup along with the oat milk on the side so I could add as much as I preferred. I had never gotten a cold brew like this but I loved it! The oat milk was the perfect amount of creamy. I would recommend this place if you're craving a cup of cold brew. I also ordered the 'Proteinthesis' which did not live up to the cold brew, but was still ok. The only complaint I had about the toast was the amount red pepper flakes they put on it. It was almost to spicy to eat! Next time I order it I will ask for the pepper flakes on the side. The man who took my order was so kind and intentional. In addition to the GREAT service, they have plenty of additional condiments to add to your meal. read more

This coffee shop is soooo cute in NC. I live in LA so I love my coffee shops so when I was in NC I asked my sister to take me to her favorite coffee shop so we went here. I ca tell when this place is here favorite, they have great coffee and the cutest part they have a bunch of board games. I was in heaven! This place is so wholesome and they also have little stickers and pins which made my day. I loved the s'mores latte and the honey lavender latte both with oat milk both are 9/10. ALSO THE SERVICE AND THE TEAM MEMBERS ARE AMAZING AND KIND. Really god service and I wish you guys moved here in LA. I believe everyone would love it here. Just an update of additional items we've tried since the first time - apple cider! They were sold out when I first tried to order it and was told it would take about another 6 hours to complete a fresh batch - they do not mess around with their cider! Or serve you cider from Food Lion next door! My boy ordered it successfully the next time we went and loved it. Came here to work one day after a bike ride on the Black Creek greenway and was pleasantly surprised! The shop is tucked away in a strip mall and is nondescript from the outside but has lots of personality inside. There are lots of places to sit inside and a few tables outside. I ordered a lavender latte and it was one of the best coffee drinks I've ever had- perfect amount of flavor and the espresso was incredible. It did take a while to get the drinks, but you are given a buzzer so you're not waiting by the counter. My husband also ordered a latte but got an iced coffee by mistake (which we drank anyway instead of waiting for them to remake the correct drink- and it was super good as well so a happy mistake). We've been to Meeple's a few times in the past and received a gift card over Christmas so decided to stop in again on a Sunday around 10am. The gift card gave issues but they were able to eventually make it work. I ordered an egg sandwich (Slamwich - egg, bacon, honey and got it on a waffle bread) and it was delicious. The latte was perfectly made, probably some of the best lattes in the area - even if you're coming in just for coffee it is worth the trip. It does seem like everything is reheated with a microwave - bacon was probably microwaveable bacon and all egg sandwiches are made with sliced hard boiled eggs which would most-likely be premade and needing reheated. It was hard to see the food safety aspect of the kitchen as there is too much obstructions to the view, but I didn't see anything violation-wise or glaringly obvious. (They received a 99% on their 1/24/24 inspection - one finding being no Certified Food Safety Manager on duty). Dining area is kept clean and floors are clearly maintained. It would be an overall improvement to see a decluttered counter area. There is way too much going on around the register and makes it feel like you are ordering your food/coffee through a hole - they still have a "Love" sign and heart balloons up for Valentine's Day (to be fair it's still February) along with lollipops, their pastry case, samples of their drink options, stack of menus, coffee cups, etc. - very cluttered and not visually pleasing. I get some of this may be from local businesses and fundraisers but it's still a little rough looking. The ordering process seems a bit slow and disorganized - and by slow I mean SLOW (it seems as if they are creating the computer script to format the printer for your receipt as you place your order). This may be due to new people in training though so it didn't ruin the experience. Overall, this would be a great place to hang out, play a boardgame (which they provide), and use the free WiFi... the food and coffee is always good! Will come again. read more

The ambiance of Meeple's Brew is awesome: a wall of board games, friendly staff make the space welcoming and quirky. It's a breath of fresh air compared to the traditional cafe. I can see myself spending a Saturday afternoon here. Unfortunately, I came here to work after dropping off a friend at the airport. The wifi in the space was inconsistent and the coffee was bitter. Thanks to the staff and ambiance here, my experience was still overall positive but if you're looking for a place to get work done, I would recommend another cafe (or library) with more stable internet. read more

We were immediately helped by a friendly Game master named Joel. We told him our levels of experience and he recommended 2 board games which he thought we would like. We ended up picking Splendor and had a great time playing the game. Just before we started, Joel stopped by and gave us his quick run down of the rules of the game, which helped us get started without too much trouble. Things that really impressed me: - Friendliness of the staff: Joel was awesome! Really cool guy that seems to love his job. - The selection of the games: My mind was blown by the huge selection. - The fully stocked bathrooms: First time I've ever seen a bathroom this well equipped. They were uni-sex and was fully stocked with all sorts of items for your convenience, ranging from anti-perspirant spray to lotion and even feminine hygiene products. This place actually made me want to get on here to warn others. Do not eat here. The service makes you feel uncomfortable. We ordered to basic breakfast sandwiches w tea and coffee. It took 20 minutes for our drinks and my tea tasted like straight water, I even wished I had water instead. The sandwiches took another 20 minutes to come out cold and the bread was hard. This place literally sucks. You even have to pay $5 per person to play one of their hundreds of games. What a rip off. I can't stress enough what a miserable experience this was. Not a great experience. Came in for breakfast/brunch on Sunday. The place was busy but not overwhelmingly so. We waited in line about 15 minutes to place our order and we're told there was a 40-minute wait for food. No problem, except I added a scone from the pastry counter so we could have something immediately because we were starving then was told it would have to come out with the rest of the food. Okay? A few minutes later, our drinks started coming out. Good drip coffee And an okay Toasted coconut cold brew. The scone finally arrived and was fantastic The main food started coming out after only about 25 minutes but then someone came over to say they had run out of bacon and couldn't make my (and several other people's) order so we need to pick something else. There isn't much on this menu that doesn't have bacon. Also, it's brunch, don't run out of bacon when you have no alternative on hand. Also, there is a grocery store literally next door. I changed my order to a roast beef panini that was just a couple of slicesof white bread that were smashed paper thin with one slice of roast beef and some cheese and other things inside. I've truly never seen any sandwich this thin. It tasted alright but for $12, that's a no-go. We will not likely be back. read more
