Cute chaotic little coffee shop tucked in an unassuming neighborhood near a laundromat. The folks were lovely- both some friendly older customers that are obviously regulars, and great baristas. This place has their own brand of beans. Flavor was ok, even for a cortado the flavor seemed just meh. The cappuccino is served with a little stroopwaffle bite that was a cute touch. The layout of this place was something I can't get past- there is no flow, no sense in where you order to where you pick up, and seating is odd. There is some seating out back (but you have to go out the front and around) that is nice and shaded, and there are some cute stone tables out front. Also some counter seating inside and out. A Consistent and Reliable Plain Latte If you're a latte lover, this place delivers perfection every time. The foam has a pleasant roasted coffee note, not too liquid or too foamy, just the right consistency. It's rare to find a coffee shop where every cup is consistently great. Even their iced lattes maintain fantastic flavor without foam, which is impressive. The space has a cozy vibe with art displays on the walls and seating both inside and outside. The staff is kind and warm--you can tell they make coffee with love. Just a heads-up: if you show up too late on weekends (around 9 or 10 AM), their pastries often run out. The punch card is a bit of a scam--getting a free drink after 10 doesn't feel as rewarding since the prices keep going up. I've been going to this place since it opened. They used to pride themselves staffing the friendliest baristas. I have since coming because they just aren't nice anymore. I stopped in yesterday and the girl working at the order counter didn't even say hi, no welcome at all. What would you like, how can I help you. Like I had to start the conversation. Then the two baristas on the bar did everything in their power not to speak to customers. I asked them a question about kids and they just pointed. It's sad. Great coffee. I got a cappuccino. They made a perfect about of foam. the foam was rich in structure and very tasty somehow. The espresso taste is recognizable. No or very little acidic-after-taste. Quaint coffee shop in the heart of Tarrytown, it's one of the few coffee shops in the area, but it's open early and gets the java fix in. They got some strong coffee game and plenty of pastries. I tried a flash brew, which is a rapid chilled coffee prep and it was definitely crisp, not too bitter and very caffeinated. Something to get you going in the morning for sure. Service is quick. Small little house with some indoor seating plus an outdoor patio in back & some outdoor seating in front too. A cute coffee spot for a quick coffee. Not that much seating inside but it's in a nice area with neighborhoods around to walk in. I'm docking off a star because I ordered an Iced tea and saw it was like 4$ on the wall or something and then they made me pick my tea and I accidentally picked a tea bag that was like 6.50$. So my iced tea came out to over $7 which is actually ludicrous in my opinion. My bad for not seeing the price but also I have never seen a tea bag that expensive in my life and it didn't taste like 7$+ tea. Kind of pissed me off read more

I have heard and seen the name around Austin and finally had the chance to try it. I bought a hazelnut latte with almond milk and some beans to bring home. The drink was so smooth and so worth it. This place is cute because it feels like a cozy home in a small town neighborhood. This location definitely has more of the wooden feel to it so it gives off a more vintage vibe. If you're looking for more modern feel then I suggest the South Lamar or Springdale location. Parking is limited here but luckily there's neighborhood parking if you don't mind walking a block down. I came here on a Tuesday at 1pm and I couldn't find parking at their lot. The coffeeshop is not very big either but I like that there are outside seatings! It's great on a nice day out. The barista was very friendly when I took a few seconds to decide what I really want to order. They also have pastries in the front that really lures your taste buds. The pricing is different than what I saw on Yelp so just to update, I got a cappuccino for $3.93 and comes out to be $4.25 after taxes and I love even numbers. I had their cold brew and lemon ginger scone, the scone is so soft and fluffy, and I ordered it warmed up so making it a good pair with the cold brew. I have been searching high and low since the early 2010's for a muffin that comes close to the HEB blueberry muffins before they changed the recipe. The muffins I'm talking about had the perfect muffin top which was considerably firmer than the rest of the muffin and could be broken off into little chunks so you could eat the whole top before eating the rest. Another defining feature of the legendary HEB muffins was the tiny square sugar crystals sprinkled on top. My friends, I am happy to say the Medici muffins have somewhat ended my quest to find THE muffin. The Medici muffins aren't the most gourmet muffins I've ever seen so don't overestimate this experience, but as far as quenching the thirst for the 2000's/early 2010's HEB muffin they did the trick. I know I cannot be alone in my search for muffin. As far as the coffee shop overall, clean, friendly staff and a good place to do work because there are usually open seats inside. read more

Fortunately, that is like telling Superman that he is limited to flying, being bullet proof and having amazing strength. Caffe Medici has always had superior coffee - A statement which is NOT true for many of the other equally ballyhoo-ed prestigious coffeehouses in the city. In a battle of straight up espresso - Caffe Medici is going to do well. Their particular espresso is marked by being exceptionally rich. It also has light sprightly undertones of acid under the richness. So the coffee is very fulfilling - but not at all heavy ..... a very very pleasurable combination. I could drink Caffe Medici coffee all day and all night. (And if I drank it all day - yes, I would be up all night.) I don't live near a Caffe Medici - so I tend to not hang out in their rooms. But when I do hang out in their rooms, I am always happy. Overall, one of our gems. ************** P.S. If you read the other reviews, you will find one guy with Italian barista training working out on Caffe Medici - because they don't make the coffee the way his favorite place does at home. I openly invite that reviewer to take an apartment in Florence where he can drink all the coffee he wants to drink at the one cafe he loves. Caffe Medici is one of the best coffee shops in West Austin. As a tourist, I visited the famous Hope Outdoor Gallery (a giant wall of graffiti art on one of the highest points in ATX) and needed coffee after. Yelp brought me a few blocks to Caffe Medici. It's on a main strip with several other restaurants. Caffe Medici seems like a smaller coffee shop, but it is not. There are plenty of seats (mainly smaller two person tables) in three different parts of the cafe. There are plenty of plugs inside and free, strong wifi. If it's a perfect ATX day, grab one of the tables outside. The sell a variety of snacks, pastries, and of course coffee. I ordered a latte and the art and taste was on point. It was one of the best lattes I had in ATX for cheaper than other cafe options. read more

The coffee tastes great. It's right in the heart of Clarksville, very close to Josephine's. The staff and clientele are kind, always. It's not the greatest ambience, to be honest. The tables and chairs, though relatively plentiful for the small place, are not comfortable. One thing I'm not a fan of is the aesthetic of having giant QR codes posted everywhere, mostly to sell art. It's not...beautiful or fun to look at. The coffee is good. The pastries look delicious, although perhaps on the unhealthy side. Two bathroom stalls, a community book shelf in the back corner. It's a good spot to take your computer and get some dialed in work done. Like I said before, good coffee, which is probably what you're looking for in the first place. Enjoy! read more

They don't put any kind of sweetener in the latte, so I can adjust the sweet level to my liking!! Another huge point!!! Little things matter a lot and always add up y'all!!!! They just made my night with great coffee, STEVIA, again, and the cutest/best touch complimentary tiny cookie that comes on the side with the cappuccino!!! It's delicious too!!!! Parking is a lil pain in the ass, but just do neighborhood parking, don't park in any of the Laundry's parking spots next door or your car will get towed. Stopped by this location because I was already in the neighborhood and decided to check it out instead of driving to my usual coffee shop - and I'm so glad I did. This might just be the quaintest coffee shop I've been! It's like that cottage you dream of moving to one day but cannot for reasons like.. life. But now you can! Sort of. Okay you don't get the cottage to yourself, but it's so peaceful that it felt like so. I was lucky enough to grab a window seat (there're prob only 2 desks that don't get a window view) and enjoyed the serene view of rainy Austin when I needed a break from work. Everyone around me seemed to be enthralled in their work as well (they may be checking Fb but looked real professional even so), so it's conducive to work. This location is unique in that it's definitely Austin-y, but without going overboard (remember those uncomfortable but cool-looking furniture from that one shop? Or two?) So why only 4 stars? I'd give 10 stars for ambience! But held back by Yelp's 5 star system and their espresso. As it's a coffee shop, the final rating should be about the coffee. Popped in for some iced coffee and tea while waiting for our dog's grooming appointment. We were able to find parking in their lot, but it isn't the biggest - this seems to be the kind of neighborhood place where a lot of people walk over instead of driving. We were able to grab a table outside pretty easily at 10:00am on a Sunday - it was busy but not crowded. My fiancé ordered our drinks, and they were quickly prepared. The "large" tea was actually quite tiny, but the quality of both of our drinks was good. We didn't order food, but a lot of the people around us had some delicious looking dishes. Caffe Medici has several locations in Austin, but IMO this is the best location. It's secluded in the quaintness of Clarksville. Away from the drag and the business of downtown, this location is quiet and has more of a family atmosphere than the other locations. I like to spend time studying here. They have great batch brew coffee but also will take the time to make you a pour over or an espresso drink. They offer some sweet selections of beans - usually having wild gift and Olympia beans. I LOVE this location of Medici. The outdoor patio seating on the 2nd floor overlooking the street is such a treat! We went here on a Saturday... two moms and three kiddos. We all got our treats and sat on the patio for almost an hour. The coffee is great... I had an oat milk cappuccino and it definitely hit the spot. The kids had cookies and brownies from the bakery and they certainly seemed to enjoy it. My friend had a drip coffee that she loved and also tried the lavender lemonade. Well, you try drinking a bottle of wine after a long day in a cubicle. Then, have your young children wake you up at 6:30 a.m. Guess what? They don't care about hangovers. All they care about is chocolate milk and Iron Man. It's not pretty, folks. Orange juice won't cut through the fog. English breakfast tea won't drive away that headache and give you a fighting chance. Sure, you could pop into your neighborhood Starbucks and have some middling coffee made by people more interested in blasting out Caramel Mocha-Fattacinos and upselling freaking Via to keep the a-holes in Corporate off their backs.
