Best Donuts in town!!! We love the Apple Fritters and the Bear Claws. One of these days, I will try the Lunch menu. It looks interesting!

I don't generally get anything besides a maple bar, but they didn't have any left when we went here so we got a bear claw, round maple sprinkle, and apple fritter instead. The donuts were good. I'll have to taste their maple bar to determine whether they surpass Cal's, which is my favorite donut place. However, Master Donuts does take credit cards, which gives them a huge leg up on Cal's! I was treated very badly by the man employee working the register!! So bad that I walked out not purchasing anything. He was very rude to me. I refuse to buy anything from a business that treats customers that way. Really good Thai food, kinda funky that it is inside a donut shop! This place is close to my house and is a great option for a quick and affordable lunch. I went about a year or 2 ago when the base prices were $6.95 (SUPER cheap, loved that). Now the price is $8.95 or more (depending on what protein you choose) which is more of the normal pricing for Thai food in the Eugene/Springfield area. We love their pad see ew, pineapple curry, pad thai, and Bangkok noodles. I like how clean the restaurant is and they bring your food out to your table. Doesn't look like much when you pull up but the cool thing about Master Donuts is they serve both thai food and donuts at very reasonable prices! The place is also a sit down restaurant with service so if you want a place to have a lunch or dinner this is a good spot! In terms of donuts, if you're looking for fancy or unique donuts I'd go elsewhere. If you're looking for tasty doughy classic donuts, Master Donuts has a great selection and pretty reasonably priced. For thai food, they have a pretty extensive menu for classic dishes. We ordered the pad see ew, curry and pad thai. Curry was a bit on the thinner side but but great value- huge portions and each dish was under $10 which is a steal! Overall surprisingly good and fun to say you had both at one place! read more

This is a small hole in the wall but has some of the best Thai food in the Springfield area. My favorite is the yellow curry and it never disappoints! They are only open for lunch and have limited seating. However they make it all work and the food is well worth it. Not to mention it is not expensive at all. I made my first visit to Master Donuts today after seeing lots of folks rave about it in local Facebook groups. The selection is moderately sized: a few cake donuts and quite a few yeast donuts, plus fritters and cinnamon rolls. I opted for my go-to donuts: a chocolate-glazed old fashioned and a Bavarian cream. (Yes, I got two donuts and ate both for lunch.) The old fashioned was not something I'd get again. It was thinner than I prefer and fried harder than I like. A few spots crunched. The chocolate glaze was nice, though! The Bavarian was tastier, in my opinion. The yeast donut was soft and there was plenty of filling. The filling and glaze were good. I'll definitely consider this place for donuts in the future, but I'll probably stick to the yeast variety! read more

I've been here bright and early in the morning for their Siam Mocha and free donut (if you get 16 ounce coffee, a basic donut is free!) and it's delicious. The people helping us have always been nice and helpful. Donuts are very good and so is the coffee. Just today I tried their Thai food for lunch. I called it in and walked over, the food was ready, all in the 15 minutes he said it would take! I tried the kee mao which was just ok. They make theirs with yakisoba noodles, which is fine, but it's not like other kee mao's I've tried. But it's a good noodle fix. I'm not a huge donut fan- but every once in a while I'll get a craving for an old fashioned or an apple fritter. And there is no better in town. You can go to any other donut shop or grocery store, but you will pay more and it won't be as good. I've stopped in to grab a dozen for work colleagues, and They usually pick a good selection. Prices are reasonable and I've never had any issues with the staff being rude. It's always been the same two guys, and they are perfectly nice every time. Not overly friendly, but pleasant enough. This review is for the Thai food (pad thai and curry noodle soup) I ordered for lunch today. The pad thai noodles did not have a great texture, they tasted like they were just heated through, not thoroughly tossed around in a wok or skillet a few times. The flavor was also lacking, a little bit of a tang, but not really much else going on. The pad thai came with a salty and sour type of sauce (fish sauce maybe?), but this really didn't help the dish much. Portion size was okay, not very generous with the veggies or the protein (beef). The rice noodles were wider than what I am used to for pad thai. As for the curry noodle soup, it had a pretty good curry and coconut flavor (although the soup tasted a little thin). Again though, very little protein (beef) and veggies. I shared the curry noodle soup with a friend and we each only got 1-2 pieces of veggies and a few pieces of protein each. The service was very friendly and helpful, A+ for that. But overall, the Thai food here unfortunately did not hit the spot for me and left me wanting a little something more. I really want to like a donut and Thai food place. It is my favorite two foods. But yet again I'm disappointed. Their donuts are really good. Their Thai food...idk friends. I had the Pad Thai Chicken with Veggies and it was the worst Pad Thai I've ever had. And I've had it A LOT. It was super bland, so much that I added seasoning. It's like he forgot to add the Pad Thai sauce all together. Granted, the guy who works their told us he doesn't even buy groceries anymore and only eats the Thai food there...but I can't imagine doing that. I will say it tasted fresh and the veggies were good, but that's not what I eat Pad Thai for. I love the sweetness of the noodles, but this was just plain old noodles. All in all, I'll go again for the donuts, but not the Thai food. Also their hours are weird so be sure to check those. read more

I love living near this place because it's in a corridor of mostly fast and/or corporate food options. Simply put, the coffee and donuts are excellent, they make for the perfect morning treat. The Thai food is decent and reasonably priced, but certainly not the most flavorful I've had; at least it's must healthier than its neighboring options. When I go here it's hard for me to figure out what I want because everything I have tried on the menu is great! From the curries, drunken noodles, cashew chicken, and phad thai. The last curry I ordered was the panang, I would have to say I liked that one the best. But it's my personal choice. They are all great in flavor. I feel like a hipster saying my favorite thai spot in springfield is at a donut shop. Dishes were all solid! Pad thai was probably my least favorite, it wasn't much here. Pad see ew, pretty solid. Donuts and Thai food are two of my most favorite foods. I had the pad Thai earlier and it was really delicious. Pad Thai is usually sweet and salty but I had him make it spicy and chose a level five. I've been to a lot of Thai places back home and I have to say this was definitely the spiciest one and I loved every bite! And it was perfect I got a doughnut for a dollar for dessert. The lunch prices are stellar at $5.95 for a big plate of food which, as R.T. commented, could rival most of the Thai restaurants in town. The regular dinner prices are more than fair, too. We got the spicy noodles, basically a Pad Kee Mao, and they had plenty of veggies and tons of basil. The tofu was a little over fried for my taste, but still good. The green curry was very decent. Not a ton of chicken, but a lot of veggies and a decently spicy curry. Not the most nuanced Thai cuisine you'll ever have, but very serviceable and a good portion. The place is very clean and bright, the owners seem friendly, and it felt like a little culinary adventure to eat Thai in a Springfield donut shop. This is just not a Donut shop, but also a Thai restaurant. However, I have not tried that portion of this establishment, but the donuts here are awesome. Been here multiple times and none have been disappointing. Every donut is always soft and not oily like some other places. So, based on recommendations from a Facebook page I'm a part of my girlfriend and I decided to stop in and give this a try. First impressions are that it's a quiet and clean shop hidden behind the Dairy Mart on Gateway Blvd. You wouldn't even know it was there if you didn't look it up or have someone tell you where it is. Better signage is a must! There were no people there when we arrived, and it only took about 10-15 minutes to get our food after ordering. We ordered the Siam Fried Rice, which was a spicy rice dish with chicken, veggies, and a garlic sauce. The portion was great, we shared the one $6.95 lunch special and it fed us both with some left over! There was plenty of heat, and it was delicious! The only negative is that the garlic sauce was overpowered by the spice, and we couldn't really taste the garlic. There are plenty of other lunch offerings they provide, and we're excited to try more of them!!! Btw, grab a bear claw on the way out! Their doughnuts are good, and the bear claw was simply to die for! I would have given this a 5 star (one of my rare perfect ratings) except they only serve this awesome food from 11 am to 3 pm.
