The restaurant wasn't that busy. There were about 6 groups in the restaurant when we got there. 4 groups already ordered or had their food. We sat down and waited for our server. I ordered the pad thai with beef and crab fried rice (to go). My sister ordered the red curry. The food took a long time! Our server was avoiding our table, no updates on the food or a 'sorry the kitchen is backed up'. There were lots of people ordering take out, after our food order was placed. The restaurant got busier. It took about 30 minutes to get our dinner. The Pad Thai was very bland, one tone tasting. There wasn't much beef, veggies or flavor. The noodles were all clumped together, broken chunks. Usually the Pad Thai is served with beans sprouts, lime wedges, crushed peanuts on the side to mix. I had to ask for the lime wedges. The lime wedges helped the blandness, added a punch of flavor. For $18 pad thai, I expected way better especially for the long wait time. My sister enjoyed her red curry. The crab fried rice was extra fishy smelling, which was off putting. I felt the crab was bad or going bad. Crab isn't that smelly, neither is imitation crab. We got the bill and we were still waiting an extra 10-15 minutes for the crab fried rice. We were there about an hour, mostly waiting for our food. The service wasn't superb. The food wasn't good for Thai standards, super disappointing. I wouldn't come back. read more

We came for lunch and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and brought out our drinks quickly. We ordered an iced Thai tea and a hot Thai tea, both were good. The hot Thai tea is unsweetened and came in a pot, great for a chilly day. The pad Thai noodle soup was yummy. It had a bunch of chicken and squid, the rice noodles were cooked well, and the broth was flavorful. I ordered it extra spicy and there was definitely some heat to it. The pad mango with tofu was fresh with big chunks of mango and tofu that were seasoned well. The sampler was also nice to share amongst 4 people. There were 3 sauces: sweet/sour, peanut butter, and a refreshing one that looked like pico. It came with 3 pork wontons, 2 egg rolls cut in half, fried tofu, and 2 chicken satay skewers. We get here right at opening and are greeted as we walk in. We are seated with menus and water. The floor and tables are clean and there is a full bar with CC televisions showing a football game. The place is well lit with lots of natural light and overhead music. The tables and seats are very comfortable and the service is prompt and polite. The Thai iced tea is sweet and flavorful. I find it addicting. The Triangle Shrimp came with a plum dipping sauce. The shrimp is wrapped in a wonton like flour wrapper and is crispy. The shrimp inside is the perfect al dente. The Shrimp Pad Thai was a powerful blast of flavor and talk about thick! I asked for extra peanut sauce and was presented with a ramekin that I poured over the whole plate. The shrimp is perfectly cooked as are the noodles, onions, garlic and sprouts. There is egg and ground nuts as well as the peanut sauce. The portion is huge and very filling. The service here is really good. I found the food fresh and very flavorful. This was a 5 star experience for this visit. read more

My first time to this location and while it isn't as crowded as the downtown location, it's spacious and on our visit only a few tables occupied. I thought the food was equally as good as the downtown location and did not disappoint. Located in a shopping mall, parking is easy to find. Service was quick and we were served our dishes quickly. We ordered the green papaya salad and a variety of curry dishes. The curries were all very tasty and we had our choice of proteins. As for the papaya salad, I thought it was a bit salty and the fish sauce was a little over powering for my taste. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and will return. read more

We enjoyed dinner at the Coburg location. Service was a little slow, both our server and the food coming out, despite having few diners at an early dinner time. However, it was worth the wait! The salmon dish was on the Chef's Specials list and after hearing about it and it being recommended, I ventured away from my usual white Angel on fire and it's decided to try it. It was better than I expected and I will definitely be ordering it again! My partner ordered the Pad Prik King and was happy with their choice. We both left full with enough for a second meal later. Has dinner here night before last before going to Eugene Cabaret. Letting our waiter know this he put a rush on our sit down order. I had the Spicy Catfish which was tasty and attractive. It had a slight kick, and the flavor blends were delicious. Others in our group had the spareribs. Those were very plentiful! As far as drinks, we had old fashioned, and manhattans. Very strong! As a non meat-eater, I find it challenging to enjoy restaurants that don't offer enough vegetarian dishes. Ta Ra Rin has delivered in that regard; the challenge is choosing which vegetarian dish to order. They offer tempeh as well as tofu for proteins, and cater to a variety of dietary needs by also offering meat options, so you can mostly tailor them to your preference. The dishes are fresh, colorful and flavorful, and they actually understand what "mild spice" means, to the benefit of us spice wimps. IYKYK... The dining room at this location lacks some ambience because it's essentially one large room that can get pretty loud, and it's usually crowded (no surprise). But I personally like the chefs at this location a little better than the other, for some reason, so I prefer this one. They only take reservations for parties of six or more, and the wait for a table can be discouraging at peak times. They've been understaffed at times so servers sometimes are trying to take care of a large number of tables. Bring your patience and a good appetite. We always have plenty to share and some to take home, because you won't want to leave any of this delicious food behind. read more

They have a really nice weekday lunch menu with cheaper priced food. I was surprised at how large the portion was. I had the pad see ew and it was delicious. I had hot Thai tea which is the same tea as iced tea but hot and not sweet- it came in a pot they refilled. Very pleasant ambiance with a decent lunch crowd. Will definitely come again. This is my favorite Thai place in town. It's never disappointed and my friends all love it too. It's a little pricey so I only go as a treat, but it is so worth it. I always get the pad see ew with chicken, it's perfect. The peanut sauce is also really good but I don't get it unless I'm craving it since it's pretty rich. I've also had the crispy bananas with coconut ice cream and they were so good!! I've had their food both in the restaurant and to-go and it's great both ways. It travels well and leftovers last well in the fridge. The servers have always been attentive and friendly, as have the hosts when I come to pick up my to-go orders. I went on a Sunday night and sat at the bar. I ordered fried garden rolls and chicken satay after a half hour waiting to be addressed. I ordered a drink that took over 20 minutes to be made and it wasn't even busy. These two apps took over a half hour to serve. The service had no reason to be slow given how few tables there were. I've only ever ordered takeout from here, but it's easily one of the best Thai spots in town! The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every dish I've tried--from the pad Thai to the Massaman curry--has been absolutely delicious. Their portions are generous, and the balance of spices and flavors is spot-on every time. The takeout process is super smooth, and my order is always ready on time and packed perfectly. Even after the drive home, everything is still hot and tastes just as good as if I were dining in. TRR has been one of my favorite dinner spots since moving to Eugene 3 years ago. However, it pains me how inconsistent the food at this location has become over the last few months. They've always made a fabulous and flavorful yellow curry, but the last few orders have lacked any of the rich curry spices that make this dish so great. A second noticeable difference is that the veggies seem to have barely been cooked making for a far from ideal meal that used to be my favorite takeout order in the neighborhood. Holy Moly. My first time here. The food was very good (main dish green curry with avocado) but I agreed to sit at the bar because I was solo. That put me near a very loud and rowdy table of twenty, and they were loud and rowdy throughout the meal, turning it into a negative experience. The flavors were delicious, great textures (especially the fried rice with the cashews) and the spice estimate was accurate. THE WISHES: Bigger serving sizes in general, especially for the green papaya salad. The container was filled mostly with the fish sauce dressing and could have used more green papaya! TaRaRin restaurant has only one deep fryer for both GF and wheat dishes. They do not have a separate deep fryer for gf and celiac. They clean the wok and grill. You can request that you want the grill cleaned before they make your gf dish. I find that if I have a list of allergen or foods that I dont want in the meal, it is best to have a hard copy to give to the waitress/waiter. Make it known waiter/waitress GF/ Celiac. read more

You see, as delicious as it is, I dont get out to the Asian Food scene all that much thus, the menu is always rather mysterious to me. I ask the waitress if she would help me out with some of the menu items for me and so she did... she was very sweet, patient and took her time explaining each item that I asked about in full detail. In the end, by her suggestion, I went with the "Pad King" and I was so glad I did, it had Chili, garlic, yellow onion, green onion, carrot, bell pepper, mushrooms, and ginger, you know, all those yummy things that make the Asian cuisine so attractive, and I had it with chicken for the protein... yup, I savored every last bit of it I was there right around noon time so it must have been before their noon rush cuz I had the entire place to myself for the first few minutes so I had time to look around a bit. It was nice, totally swept up, clean and tidy with a light easy jazz going in the background. The had a good selection of micro brews to choose from. I'm not really a mixed drink kinda guy but it looked like they had a good selection there as well. I found the bathroom to be very clean, presentable and well stocked. So, after everything was said and done can I name one single thing about Ta Ra Rin Thai Cuisine that I didn't like? We have been fans of Ta Ra Rin for about 15 years. Sad to say we will not be returning to the Springfield location. The food was ok but service was lacking in many levels. Took 15 minutes for one of the entrees to be served. We came as a family and wanted to eat as a family so that really ruined the point of going out. Not once were we asked to have waters re-filled or checked on. When we tried to pay so we could leave after waiting awhile, we were told that we needed to wait for the server and couldn't pay up front because that's mostly for to go orders. At the time, they were not busy and no reason they couldn't let us pay so we could leave. Ironically once our waiter returned he took the ticket to the same register to run the card. read more

First Thai place I've tried in Eugene. Very good! I've had the chicken pad Thai and Thai beef salad and both were delicious!! Chicken satay was also yummy. My boyfriend loves the crispy pumpkin appetizer. Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back. read more

It's all stuffer anyways. I ordered the curry chicken... where was the chicken? like .. that old commercial... where's the beef.??? I had slivers of chicken. Ridiculous. Recently my Son, and daughter in law bought me some take out from here for lunch. It was not the first time I have had the food from this location, or this restaurant chain. Ta Ra Rin is among one of my favorite go to Thai restaurants. You can pretty much count on the food being consistent at all of them, and I love the quality. When my Son bought lunch I had him get me something I had not ordered in all the years going here. It was the pineapple curry. I have had quite a bit of their curries before. And love all of them, but now I am going to have to add the pineapple curry into one of the rotations of meals that I love ordering from here. Another dish I am quite fond of on their menu is the phad mango, which is a stir fry dish, with rice. There are some other local Thai places I like going to, but the reason Ta Ra Rin is one of my favorites above the others is I can pretty much eat anything on the menu, and it is delicious, and will not be disappointed. But any where else, I can't do that. It's like I have one item from certain places I go to that I like in specific. Ta Ra Rin even has a catfish dish that is epic. I never in a million years would have thought I would have liked a catfish dish, let alone a Thai catfish dish. Pad kee mo is another favorite. It is hard to find a place that I actually like it from. Some places you either don't get the flavor right, too fish saucy, or just doesn't taste like pad kee mo. Not here. They make a great one. There are a few other dishes I like, I can't remember the names off hand, but I hope you get the point. Pretty much anything you order from here you can't go wrong.
