BUT the plates were brought out as they were fixed which I always appreciate; they did not wait for all the dishes to be ready. Cozy Thai spot. Order at the counter, food comes to your table. Server was friendly, but service was slower. We waited quite a while for most of our food and it was hard to track down the server as there were a lot of people coming in to order take-out and I don't think there was anyone else working. For two, we got the Tom Yum soup with chicken, Thai fried rice and panang curry. Spice is on the milder side but what's nice is you can always add extra spice afterward. Very spacious restaurant. Service was lovely. Truly very kind and attentive, and I thought our waiter was wonderful. I was let down by the food. Maybe it's a different standard here since people seem to really love this restaurant, but in other places I've lived, this wouldn't pass for good Thai food. All the protein we had was over cooked. The pad see ew had a lot of things going on - no char flavor at all, unbalanced flavor between sweetness and sourness, rubbery egg and beef, and the spice felt a bit raw. I got it "Thai hot" because I know in Eugene no one eats spicy food, so it felt like more like a "medium" that I would get at other Thai restaurants when I lived in other cities. The Tom kha was really nice. Again, overcooked chicken, but the coconut, lemongrass, and lime were really well balanced and had a great mouthfeel. I loved the mushrooms and herbs in it. We also had crab rangoons for the hell of it, and they were nicely fried - not greasy - but tasted like it had only cream cheese inside without any crab. I ordered this food (Pad Thai) on DoorDash, so I am not able to review on the service. The food I received in my opinion was disgusting, my husband who usually can eat anything couldn't even eat it. The Pad Thai was VERY sweet, and tasted like no Pad Thai I have ever had. If you like roasted peanuts and normal Thai noodles then I do not recommend this dish at all. read more

Really good Thai food with no frills... Pros: This is the real deal! The flavors were spot on. Medium spice was spicy without being overwhelming. Sauces were all really tasty! Portion size was good and we loved the tin plates. Food came quickly and was nicely presented. The place was clean and had a great collection of rubber duckies on the wall as you come in. Lots of FRESH vegetables in everything!! The staff were nice and accommodating of my need to avoid dairy and all the questions I have about ingredients. Cons: No table service. You order and pay at the counter when you come in. Once food was delivered, that was all we saw of our waiter. Restaurants was a little on the loud side. There are outside tables (which we would have used if it weren't so cold out. Not their fault.) This place was well worth the visit! We'll definitely be back! read more

It was our first visit. The entrance where you order is nice, but once you get into the main part of the restaurant, it doesn't seem to fit. The tables have plastic tablecloths, & the seating is very uncomfortable. Our food was a bit oily & salty. The plates were made of light tin, & the server brought us a stainless steel box from which to take out our silverware &/or chopsticks. The stainless steel box did not look very clean on the outside. We had to ask for condiments, but the condiment containers did not look very full or clean. Service was also very minimal, even though there was only one other customer in the restaurant. The prices are nearly the same as in fancier Thai restaurants in Eugene, such as Sabai, but the quality and flavor are not as good. The experience was a great disappointment, unfortunately. To improve, the restaurant should spruce up the main part of the restaurant, change the tablecloths, plates, & silverware setup, ensure that the condiments are fresh in clean containers, and change the recipes so that the food is less oily and salty. Also, the service needs to be more welcoming and attentive. read more

I was excited to try this place, but man. Holy F'n airball. It had great reviews on Yelp and DoorDash, but we were extremely let down when it arrived. The larb salad was atrocious. Every time we order a larb, it usually has a citrus flavor. This had none and we didn't care for their take on it. The pad Thai was nothing but noodles and sauce. The eggs and meat were rubbery and extremely bland. The pineapple fried rice was also bland and extremely underwhelming. For $50 I expected something a little better. My girlfriend will kill me if I ever order that again. Luckily, it won't happen and I'll love to see another day. read more

Ideologically speaking, it's probably challenging to replace a closed business with similar offerings. Tin house feels and tastes as cheap as it looks. Don't get me wrong, the menu is not cheap. The tables are set with pvc plastic table cloths, plastic water pitchers, there are cheap steel cups, bins, flatware. The overhead and wall- lighting are overly bright LED's. Everything feels sterile. They're even skimping on garnish. The food was mediocre. I only stayed because my date was hopeful that the food would echo the restaurant it replaced. Terrific food, nice service, and a pleasant space for eating. We shared three dishes and all were delicious. The panang curry with tofu was my favorite, and the crab pad thai was a special treat. Love the friendly, helpful staff, and the fast service; love the charming vibe, the oilcloth tablecloths, the outdoor area; love the pumpkin curry, the drunken noodles, the pad thai, the BBQ chicken, the fried rice, the "shrimp in blanket", the spicy eggplant. Food here is excellent. In my opinion, the best Thai food around here. I don't understand how others are stating that it's mediocre. And the main server, Dream, is such a sweet person.
