    Tom kha soup

I used to come here for the Tom Kha soup. My husband wanted to surprise me tonight with my favorite soup at my once favorite place. & all I have to say is. Thank you for the complete lack of care & effort by whoever made it. It's coconut milk chicken & huge whole pieces of cabbage. Nothing else. No carrots no onions no ginger no lemongrass no mushrooms no peppers just milk & cabbage & chicken. It just tastes like sour coconut milk. I will NEVER eat from this place again. Huge mistake cooking so carelessly & expecting people to not notice or not complain. Shame on you.

Review was for a visit during the covid pandemic Dak" in Thai means to eat with great enthusiasm and gusto. And we certainly did after taking our food home. We ordered Thai fried rice-very good with lots of veggies and your choice of protein, Pad Thai-very good with plenty of toppings (though, we may ask for less tamarind for a more balanced flavor), Yellow curry-delicious with a perfectly addictive spice level and Tom Kha-delicious, rich, tangy with lots of greens and your choice of protein. We ate until stuffed and still had plenty left over. 4 stars for the food-flavor, quality and quantity and another for the level of care they take during the pandemic. They limited the people inside picking up orders, had a plexiglass screen, though, the person was a bit left of it to run the credit card or take money and wore gloves-maybe the first time I've seen this precaution. Hand sanitizer was available, as well. I really appreciate and give the 5th star for the care shown for the customer. Now, maybe I'll go raid the fridge for more Pad Thai!

I picked up beef fried rice and chicken cashew nut Togo yesterday. Surprisingly fried rice tasted really good. Cashew nut was good but it was a little bit too sweet. If they add less prik pao for cashew nut, this dish would be perfect to eat with hot white rice.

Delicious food, generous portions (can easily serve two), and fair prices. Be sure to try the Thai iced coffee.

Nice to have a Thai option here in Creswell. I'm a fan of spicy, but I learned to go medium on the spice. I would recommend

I ordered the Tom Yum soup with Shrimp medium-spicy. It came out with great flavor, and had a bit more kick than I'm used to (which was fine). Service was good -- they refilled plenty of water for me. It seems to be a family-owned restaurant (they had some younger kinds hanging around, which I always appreciate). The building itself is a bit run-down. And while I'm not really familiar with the area, the neighborhood also seemed to be a bit sketchy. However, it was cozy inside, and the food was good, so I would definitely return.

Our go to is always Sabai's seafood Pad Kee Mao, but this place serves up an excellent value with the same freshness and delicious flavors. Shrimp were decent and quite a few onions, but otherwise it was perfect! Tom Kha Soup - Loved the scratch made goodness with all the lemongrass, galangal and ginger pieces. It seemed to be lacking some acid, salt and sweetness but maybe it was just an off night. The fried tofu was tasty, even though I usually prefer fresh tofu. 4 stars. The owner was so kind and friendly - you can't help but want to support families like theirs. Sounds like the previous owner had health issues and this family came down from Portland to take over. Can't wait to try the entire menu!!!

I went in expecting a quick bite and left wondering if I should cancel my flight and commit to a long-term relationship with their menu. The service was the kind that makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit: attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it. You know, the sweet spot most places miss by a mile. The ambiance strikes that rare balance: polished enough to feel like you made a good decision, but relaxed enough that no one's judging you for aggressively enjoying your curry. Now, the portions. Let's just say I arrived hungry and quickly realized I had made a tactical error by also having a flight to catch. The plates are generous. Borderline ambitious. Under different circumstances I would've happily taken half of it home. And the price? Genuinely refreshing. You get high-quality food, generous portions, and excellent service without that subtle sting of regret when the bill arrives. It feels almost suspiciously reasonable. I walked in trying to kill time before a flight and walked out wondering if I should start scheduling layovers in Eugene on purpose.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon and the restaurant was bustling. We got seated right away at a booth with a window view. My waitress was an older Asian lady. She was very nice, not too talkative, but she was on top of her things. I was craving soup and decided on the highly recommended tom kha with tofu. To start, we had thai tea, thai coffee and the shrimp triangle. For our entrees, we decided on the pad see eu (they spell it pad se eu here), panang curry. The shrimp triangles were very yummy. Definitely get those. The thai tea and coffee was good, but just a little watered. I expected the taste to last in my mouth for a little bit. But it didn't. For the soup, I was excited to taste the soup! It smelled really good and it was boiling hot. My thought after my first sip of Tom Kha was, ok, this is good, they got it, but it just wasn't quite there. I couldn't pinpoint what was missing. Then I figured out that they didn't use full coconut milk. It was just a little bit and it was the lighter version. How disappointing! I wanted the robust tang, spice and coconut like how I have at home. The entrees made me sad. I really, really wanted to love it. The panang curry should be rich, thick and creamy. Instead it was soupy. I was really expecting and wanting the curry to stick to my rice, but instead it made soupy curry rice. My daughter pointed out that the curry and the tom kha soup was the same color and consistency. I didn't want to believe, but I think they used the same base and added the appropriate toppingss and seasonings to make a soup and a curry. My saddest dish was my last one that came out. It was the pad se eu. The wide rice noodles was wet and in broken pieces. I'm Asian and I'm from Vegas via Hawaii which means we have a lot of Asian cuisines, we know our food and have friends who work in high end Thai restaurants. (Think Lotus of Siam) When rice noodles break into smaller pieces, it means the noodles are probably not fresh and got hard. To soften, the cook used extra water and the heat was not high enough to cook, so it stuck to pan, making the cook mix it around more...broken wet noodles that doesn't brown. Overall, I really wanted to love this place. It has potential. Maybe it was an off day but on that day I went, it didn't give me the wow I expected. Most of the items has the taste on point. Please don't water down the curry or use lower fat coconut cream. I'm not used to having regular brocolli in thai food either, but I guess this is what Eugene likes or what we can get. And people, share your food! Thai food is family style! Share it! Put it in the middle of the table and let the other person have some! I was people watching around my table and my table was the only one that didn't have our own entree per person. lol

The tables have plastic tablecloths, & the seating is very uncomfortable. Our food was a bit oily & salty. The plates were made of light tin, & the server brought us a stainless steel box from which to take out our silverware &/or chopsticks. The stainless steel box did not look very clean on the outside. We had to ask for condiments, but the condiment containers did not look very full or clean. Service was also very minimal, even though there was only one other customer in the restaurant. The prices are nearly the same as in fancier Thai restaurants in Eugene, such as Sabai, but the quality and flavor are not as good. The experience was a great disappointment, unfortunately. To improve, the restaurant should spruce up the main part of the restaurant, change the tablecloths, plates, & silverware setup, ensure that the condiments are fresh in clean containers, and change the recipes so that the food is less oily and salty. Also, the service needs to be more welcoming and attentive.
