Amazing! Great flavors. We did a large group order at work and everyone LOVED their food. Portion sizes were large. I highly recommend

My wife had the Yellow Curry and I had the Pad Thai,we shared deep fried Won Tons.

It's always a pleasurable time when we visit Mali Thai for dinner. The Host is always so friendly and welcoming, what a wonderful start to an experience. The food is so yummy,it's so filling. We always leave happy after we visit, definitely coming back for another time.

Green curry with chicken. So fresh and delicious

Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. Delicious Thai food served piping hot. Small space with 10-15 tables. Grab a menu, then stand in line to order at the counter, When ready, dishes are brought to your table. We enjoyed the fresh spring rolls, Green Curry, Pad Thai, wings, and mango sticky rice for dessert. We will be back soon.

I wasn't expecting much having been spoiled by Thai food in Thai Town in LA, but oh my lanta this place was gooooodddd. Landed on this place because I needed dinner while supercharging close by. I ordered the pad kee mao spicy. It really hit the spot. I really appreciated that they had extra veggies in this dish that don't standardly come with it (broccoli, bamboo shoots, and bean sprouts). There was a little condiment station too. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they still had huy fung sriracha!! But it wasn't needed as the dish buy itself was absolutely delicious. The service was great and the staff was friendly. It has a mom and pops shop feel with seating for maybe 15 people. I would definitely go back if I was in the area.

I've become a regular at Mali's and am always extremely happy with my meal! Staff is super friendly! Food is served fresh and hot and with my perfect spice level!!! It is by far my favorite Tai food in all of Eugene!! It's also conveniently located, plenty of parking and ready to pick when they give you a time to pick up for take out!!

Fresh Summer Rolls ($9) - October 2023
Dej S.

A little pricey, but some dang good food. I got the Fresh Summer Rolls ($9) to start, which were light and refreshing and delicious with that sweet peanut dipping sauce! They would make an amazing and healthy lunch on their own, but I was determined to get an entree as well, so I only ate two and took the rest to go (with some extra peanut sauce!). For my entree, I got the Pumpkin Curry with Pork ($18). It's on their online menu, but missing from the restaurant menu. It was tasty and filling, but a little on the salty side. My favorite part is the condiments. They have a spice counter! Not all Thai places have them, and those that do usually bring them out as spice "trays". The counter had (1) dried Thai chilis, (2) chili sauce, (3) sweet and tangy pickled jalapeños (my favorite), (4) chili oil, and the very spicy (5) Thai chilis in fish sauce. Yum! The ambiance is nice and comfortable, and the staff is very accommodating.

I ordered the Tom Yum soup with Shrimp medium-spicy. It came out with great flavor, and had a bit more kick than I'm used to (which was fine). Service was good -- they refilled plenty of water for me. It seems to be a family-owned restaurant (they had some younger kinds hanging around, which I always appreciate). The building itself is a bit run-down. And while I'm not really familiar with the area, the neighborhood also seemed to be a bit sketchy. However, it was cozy inside, and the food was good, so I would definitely return.

Our go to is always Sabai's seafood Pad Kee Mao, but this place serves up an excellent value with the same freshness and delicious flavors. Shrimp were decent and quite a few onions, but otherwise it was perfect! Tom Kha Soup - Loved the scratch made goodness with all the lemongrass, galangal and ginger pieces. It seemed to be lacking some acid, salt and sweetness but maybe it was just an off night. The fried tofu was tasty, even though I usually prefer fresh tofu. 4 stars. The owner was so kind and friendly - you can't help but want to support families like theirs. Sounds like the previous owner had health issues and this family came down from Portland to take over. Can't wait to try the entire menu!!!

The worst EVER! Have had them over the past few years and it's been OK, not great but palatable…read more The last time we ordered the calamari it was tough (overcooked) and the crab fried rice smelled and tasted off, like it was old. This last time we ordered Pad See Ew and Beef Yakisoba. The Pad See Ew tasted of nothing but oil, lacked very little sauce and noodles were way overcooked. The Beef Yakisoba was similar but also would add that the vegetables were old...the broccoli was turning color (yellow) and the mushrooms were slightly slimy and mushy. The noodles tasted like basic ramen, not Yakisoba that were just blanched in hot water and quickly stir fried. They still had that starchy texture and chewy much like the beef. We contacted DoorDash and all they offered was a $5 refund on a $55 bill plus an $11 tip for shitty food. We're all about supporting local food establishments before chain restaurants but don't waste your hard earned money on this place. We never will again.

I ordered the massaman curry with tofu, which I requested vegan, and it came with rice. I ordered medium spice level and it was pretty spicy but still so delicious! It came with tofu, peanuts, carrots and potatoes in the curry and I loved the flavor of the dish. They also had lots of options they could make vegan for me! My sister got the tom kha soup, made vegetarian with tofu, and that was my favorite dish we ordered. The soup was so savory and creamy and delicious! My other family members loved their food as well, and we all had lots of leftovers. Our server was super friendly and quick. I called about availability for 6 and he set aside a table for us. When we arrived 10 minutes after the phone call, a table was already set up waiting for us with silverware and menus which we really appreciated! The ambiance is pretty casual and relaxed, with friendly staff, a large menu, and delicious food. They have a cute old-timey feeling with barstool seating and fun colors on the walls. There's lots of street parking around and it's located in downtown Springfield. The prices were cheater than other Thai restaurants I've been to in Eugene, with very comparable food. I'd recommend giving this spot a try for some amazing Thai food!

I went in expecting a quick bite and left wondering if I should cancel my flight and commit to a long-term relationship with their menu. The service was the kind that makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit: attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it. You know, the sweet spot most places miss by a mile. The ambiance strikes that rare balance: polished enough to feel like you made a good decision, but relaxed enough that no one's judging you for aggressively enjoying your curry. Now, the portions. Let's just say I arrived hungry and quickly realized I had made a tactical error by also having a flight to catch. The plates are generous. Borderline ambitious. Under different circumstances I would've happily taken half of it home. And the price? Genuinely refreshing. You get high-quality food, generous portions, and excellent service without that subtle sting of regret when the bill arrives. It feels almost suspiciously reasonable. I walked in trying to kill time before a flight and walked out wondering if I should start scheduling layovers in Eugene on purpose.

We got seated right away at a booth with a window view. My waitress was an older Asian lady. She was very nice, not too talkative, but she was on top of her things. I was craving soup and decided on the highly recommended tom kha with tofu. To start, we had thai tea, thai coffee and the shrimp triangle. For our entrees, we decided on the pad see eu (they spell it pad se eu here), panang curry. The shrimp triangles were very yummy. Definitely get those. The thai tea and coffee was good, but just a little watered. I expected the taste to last in my mouth for a little bit. But it didn't. For the soup, I was excited to taste the soup! It smelled really good and it was boiling hot. My thought after my first sip of Tom Kha was, ok, this is good, they got it, but it just wasn't quite there. I couldn't pinpoint what was missing. Then I figured out that they didn't use full coconut milk. It was just a little bit and it was the lighter version. How disappointing! I wanted the robust tang, spice and coconut like how I have at home. The entrees made me sad. I really, really wanted to love it. The panang curry should be rich, thick and creamy. Instead it was soupy. I was really expecting and wanting the curry to stick to my rice, but instead it made soupy curry rice. My daughter pointed out that the curry and the tom kha soup was the same color and consistency. I didn't want to believe, but I think they used the same base and added the appropriate toppingss and seasonings to make a soup and a curry. My saddest dish was my last one that came out. It was the pad se eu. The wide rice noodles was wet and in broken pieces. I'm Asian and I'm from Vegas via Hawaii which means we have a lot of Asian cuisines, we know our food and have friends who work in high end Thai restaurants. (Think Lotus of Siam) When rice noodles break into smaller pieces, it means the noodles are probably not fresh and got hard. To soften, the cook used extra water and the heat was not high enough to cook, so it stuck to pan, making the cook mix it around more...broken wet noodles that doesn't brown. Overall, I really wanted to love this place. It has potential. Maybe it was an off day but on that day I went, it didn't give me the wow I expected. Most of the items has the taste on point. Please don't water down the curry or use lower fat coconut cream. I'm not used to having regular brocolli in thai food either, but I guess this is what Eugene likes or what we can get. And people, share your food! Thai food is family style! Share it! Put it in the middle of the table and let the other person have some! I was people watching around my table and my table was the only one that didn't have our own entree per person. lol

The eggplant is tender and so rich and balanced in flavor, it is simply a delight to eat. We chose the Fried Tofu for the Pad See Ew and it was delicious. The Massaman curry came with a bowl of rice, brown or jasmine, as did the eggplant. We were a little concerned that the single bowl would not be enough because we were sharing the dishes family style. But it worked out. We also ordered off the special as well on the recommendation of staff chef Aria: the sausage appetizer and the Wild Mushroom Dumplings -- the presentation was striking and the cameras came out. Ordered the Painkiller which is by far one of the best cocktails on the menu. Side note: sometimes it's not quite blend long enough so chunks of pineapple block straw, but just ask them to blend a little extra so it's smoother. Last but not least: the Warm Spiced Cinnamon Sugar Donuts were delivered as promised warm and soft with a cinnamon sugar that loved every part of your fingers. But it was the quince ginger lemon curd that blew us away. Hands-down. We could not get enough of it. It's like an aphrodisiac and should be bottled and sold. Harmony was our server, and even though the model of service has changed so that you buy the food first and then our seated, during our meal she was attentive and thoughtful. My two guests were two of the most discerning diners I have eaten with and they were very delighted repeatedly expressing appreciation for both the taste and the appearance. It was also very gracious of Master Chef Hardinger to come out and say hello; he received their compliments warmly and they left saying they were excited to bring friends back. As long time Eugene residences I thought that was perhaps among the highest compliments they could give.

I ordered the pad thai with beef and crab fried rice (to go). My sister ordered the red curry. The food took a long time! Our server was avoiding our table, no updates on the food or a 'sorry the kitchen is backed up'. There were lots of people ordering take out, after our food order was placed. The restaurant got busier. It took about 30 minutes to get our dinner. The Pad Thai was very bland, one tone tasting. There wasn't much beef, veggies or flavor. The noodles were all clumped together, broken chunks. Usually the Pad Thai is served with beans sprouts, lime wedges, crushed peanuts on the side to mix. I had to ask for the lime wedges. The lime wedges helped the blandness, added a punch of flavor. For $18 pad thai, I expected way better especially for the long wait time. My sister enjoyed her red curry. The crab fried rice was extra fishy smelling, which was off putting. I felt the crab was bad or going bad. Crab isn't that smelly, neither is imitation crab. We got the bill and we were still waiting an extra 10-15 minutes for the crab fried rice. We were there about an hour, mostly waiting for our food. The service wasn't superb. The pad mango with tofu was fresh with big chunks of mango and tofu that were seasoned well. The sampler was also nice to share amongst 4 people. There were 3 sauces: sweet/sour, peanut butter, and a refreshing one that looked like pico. It came with 3 pork wontons, 2 egg rolls cut in half, fried tofu, and 2 chicken satay skewers. This…read moreis a noodle dish I ordered like a year ago, but I still remember it being good because it had the wide fresh noodles, plenty of flavor, and a lot of basil in there. I notice that their menu is huge, with a ton of specials. Great for those who want variety every time they come. 5 stars for friendliness and fast service. The guy who works there is as nice as can be. 1 star for salad rolls. It says "fresh vegetables" but the roll had one miniscule piece of tofu (1/2 inch wide?) and the rest is pure lettuce. I think there were a couple mint leaves in there. No carrots, cuke, cilantro, or any other kind of vegetable you can imagine, and barely any tofu. Peanut sauce was delicious and worth adding to the order, as the chili sauce it comes with is ok but syrupy sweet. Adding in the peanut sauce for $2, that came to $10 for lettuce. Inflation is hitting us all hard... restaurants included. But tofu and carrots are not that expensive, right? And if they ran out of ingredients, they should just say so. Yelping about petty things is not a nice thing to do. This review reflects my frustration about a broader pattern that goes beyond this one restaurant (which is why I don't include this in the star rating). Eugene restaurants often do not try to keep up basic standards because there's insufficient competition, and they get away with things that wouldn't fly in a big city. I wish more restaurants, including food trucks, took pride in what they put on the plate.

Consistently great food, quick service, nice people. Tried several things. Highly recommend.read more
