    Egg Rolls
    Kurt E.

My wife and I are both retired chefs and we drove for an hour to try the Angkor Cambodian Cafe based on the recommendations found on Yelp. We very much enjoy traveling and trying good food. This is what we experienced during our visit. I ordered the Stuffed Chicken as an appetizer and the Phnom Penn Noodles as the main dish. My wife ordered the Egg Role as a starter and the Cha Eggplant with Tofu as the main dish. The atmosphere is warm and very inviting. The staff are the very definition of hospitality. Now on to the review of the cuisine. The Stuffed Chicken is absolutely wonderful. What an amazing flow of delicate and delicious flavors. The out side is crispy with a center of fresh good quality ingredients that are perfect combined over all purely delicious. The sauce is a very nice compliment to the dish. The Egg Rolls are crispy and very enjoyable. The dipping sauce also compliments the Egg Rolls very nicely. For the main course: The Phnom Penn Noodles are excellent. Right out of the gate you can tell that the broth is hand made and not out of a can or box. Outstanding. The shrimp was perfectly cooked on over done like it sat in a pot all day. The pork and pork ball are amazing. This is a must try dish with a great balance of flavor and texture. Definitely a must try. Cha Eggplant is very good. The flavor is well balanced and the dish is not over sauced. The ingredients are definitely fresh and all hand prepared. This dish is a winner. This has been an amazing experience and very enjoyable. I highly recommend trying the Angkor Cambodian Cafe.

I have been wanting to try this place for a couple days, so i decided to stop by. The food was delicious, from the lemon grass stuffed chicken wings to the bbq pork plate that had lots of different flavors to accompany that lemon grass. Service was a bit slow at times but in my opinion it added to the ambience of the place.

In love with this restaurant!! We were passing through Eugene for the night and wanted to get some food to go. We ordered: garlic chicken wings 4.5/5 - great sauce and crisp on wings. Wished there was another accompanying sauce or aioli machu Khmer (soup) 5/5 - great flavor from the soup!! recommend getting a bowl of rice to eat alongside the soup cha krung (noodle stir fry) 5/5 - flavorful and packed with veggies. I wish I got 2 of this!! It's a small parking lot shared with some other businesses when you pull up but our order was ready in 15 mins! The restaurant did a great job packing everything and made sure the lid was open for the chicken wings so it didn't get soggy. If I ever pass through Eugene again I would definitely come back!! Truly a hidden gem

I'm not sure how I haven't known about this place the last 8 years I've lived here but I'm glad I found it. They make the iced French coffee the proper way and I can't wait to come back to try the food. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly!! The restaurant seems like an enjoyable place to dine in.

Cambodian food is not a common cuisine that I've seen in the area so when I found out about this place, I knew I had to give it a try. When I first walked in, I was seated right away as it was not too busy. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the angel wings and beef lok lak. The angel wings were nice and crispy have I liked how it was deboned but I wished it had a little bit more flavor. The beef lok lak was tender and I loved the pickles that came on the side. It was a little bit on the salty side but the sunny side up egg and rice helped balance it out. Overall, I would recommend this place as an introduction to Khmer food. A hidden gem in Eugene!

Angkor Cambodian Café has been a Eugene favorite of ours for years. Where else can you get Cambodian food near by? We ordered a myriad of food to share for the table of eight. My personal favorite is the garlic chicken wings--crispy, tangy, and fresh! Mao, the owner and head chef, is a friendly and talented woman. Her care and attention to detail comes through in the food and the service she provides. Angkor may be on a busy street, but once you're inside it feels very homey. This place is flavorful, consistent, and tasty.

Machu Khmer soup with chicken. Absolutely incredible!

WOW! WOW! WOW! It took me way too long, but I finally made it here. And the food blew my mind. I would describe Cambodian food as a delicious mixture of Thai and Vietnamese. It seems to lack the spicy heat of Thai. Lemongrass seems to be a popular ingredient. I tried 3 dishes -- the garlic chicken wings appetizer, the Machu Khmer soup, and the Cha Krung stir-fry plate with beef. All of these were absolutely incredible and I would happily get all of these again. The wings were absolutely lovely with amazing crunchy texture and flavors from the roasted garlic, lime juice and house seasoning. The slight little tang at the end of every bite just took it to the next level. Do not even think twice about getting these wings. They are a must. The Machu Khmer soup ($11) is described as "sweet and sour soup with pineapple, tomato, lotus root, basil, green onion and garlic". I chose chicken as my protein. This was just magical. There was a little sour, sweet, and some spice. All the ingredients came together in perfect harmony. This honestly might be the best soup-eating experience I've had. The Cha Krung stir-fry plate ($14) was just lovely. I appreciated the generous amount of veggies (carrots, zucchini, celery) which were cooked perfectly, along with the beef. The lemongrass-based sauce tied everything together in the best way. There is also a full bar. Unfortunately they were out of the Cambodian beer but the Singha (Thai) beer was light and crisp and was an excellent pairing with the food. The interior is cozy and casual. We were there at 7pm on a Saturday and there was plenty of room. There is a parking lot in the back. Service was warm and prompt. Honestly I am still in awe over how great everything was. The flavors, textures and overall presentation of all the food left nothing more to be desired. We are very lucky to have a place like this in Eugene and I am so excited to dive into this extensive menu, there is so much good stuff. I think I'll be trying the curries next. But I will not be skipping those garlic wings, no way.

Food was delicious! There was nothing left of the plate and bowl. Authentic khmai food. The lady at the register was soooo sweet and accommodating to us. She made sure we were comfortable with my dog being there too.

Ta Ra Rin was a very pleasant surprise, especially when it came to portion size, value, food…read morequality and personal service. We ordered three items: Tom Kha soup with chicken, pineapple curry with chicken, and Pad Thai with pork. First thing to know--the portions are HUGE. The three dishes could easily have fed four people. The curry was probably 1 1/2 times the size we're normally used to at Thai restaurants, and the Pad Thai looked almost double the size for only about $4 more than what we normally pay elsewhere. Extremely good value. And the portion-size test? See the leftovers photo. After the two of us ate dinner, there was still enough food left for breakfast or lunch the next day. The pineapple curry was probably the standout for me, although it was a toss-up between that and the Pad Thai. My wife ranked the curry first, followed by the Pad Thai and then the soup. The pineapple curry came out in a surprisingly large bowl with plenty of chicken, vegetables and big pieces of pineapple--not a bowl of sauce with a few ingredients floating around in it. Great presentation. The sauce was creamy, slightly sweet and still allowed the curry spices to come through. We ordered it mild and there was still a little bite. The vegetables were cooked just right--not mushy and not raw. The pineapple was sweet and tasted remarkably fresh. According to our server, the pineapple actually comes from a large can. I wouldn't have guessed it. You'd swear you were eating freshly cut pineapple. The Pad Thai was another winner. Again, HUGE serving and very flavorful. Unlike some Thai restaurants that put the peanuts and bean sprouts separately on the side, here they're incorporated right into the Pad Thai, with crushed peanuts and green onion across the top. We ordered the Pad Thai mild. I normally eat Thai food hot or extra hot, so mild obviously wasn't going to give me the heat I normally like. I added about three teaspoons of their Thai hot chili paste. That enhanced the flavor even more and gave me the nice burn I was looking for. That's personal preference, not a criticism of the dish. Their heat choices are mild, medium, hot and extra hot. The Tom Kha chicken soup was also a VERY large serving. There was plenty of tender chicken and vegetables, and ordering it mild certainly didn't hide the other flavors. For our personal taste, however, it wasn't as creamy or as sweet as the Tom Kha we normally prefer. Again, that's OUR preference, and someone else may prefer it exactly this way. I added about three teaspoons of sweet chili sauce to bring up the heat for me. Service deserves its own mention. Our waitress was friendly and attentive without hovering. She noticed that I was drinking a lot of water and, instead of making repeated trips to refill my glass, brought a carafe of water to the table. A small thing, maybe, but that's the kind of personal service I notice. The restaurant itself was another pleasant surprise. It's considerably larger inside than you might initially expect, with the dining room divided into smaller seating areas by wooden partitions. Lots of warm wood, exposed beams and hanging lights give it a comfortable, established atmosphere rather than the feel of one large open dining room. Even with other conversations going on around us, the sound was more of a muted background noise. We could easily carry on a conversation at our own table without competing with the room. The front waiting area, with carved wooden furniture, plants and decorative woodwork, also gives the restaurant some personality. See the photos. Bottom line: generous portions, excellent value, attentive service and very good food. For us, the pineapple curry and Pad Thai were the stars. The Tom Kha wasn't quite the creamy style we personally prefer, but it was still flavorful and loaded with tender chicken. Would we order the pineapple curry again? Absolutely. And seriously...that pineapple came from a can? You could have fooled me.

I absolutely love this place. I was having an awful day but nothing that amazing food wouldn't…read morechange. Service is great. They greet and seat you promptly. Service is always professional, attentive, and I never feel rushed. The ambience is very moody and sexy with Thai furniture seating in the entrance.
