Prices have gone up about $2 in each category

Really good Thai food, kinda funky that it is inside a donut shop! This place is close to my house and is a great option for a quick and affordable lunch. I went about a year or 2 ago when the base prices were $6.95 (SUPER cheap, loved that). Now the price is $8.95 or more (depending on what protein you choose) which is more of the normal pricing for Thai food in the Eugene/Springfield area. We love their pad see ew, pineapple curry, pad thai, and Bangkok noodles. I like how clean the restaurant is and they bring your food out to your table. After sitting there during our meal, I was starting to crave a donut! Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

Stopped here this morning after a sunrise hike. I just wanted to treat myself. Super delicious Boston Creme! Fresh, not too sweet and plenty of custard. I loved how clean and simple their shop was. Couldn't believe I was the only one there at the time. I'll have to try their Thai food next time I'm shopping near by. There have been times I've looked for a quick bite around there but didn't know they had savory options too.

This is a small hole in the wall but has some of the best Thai food in the Springfield area. My favorite is the yellow curry and it never disappoints! They are only open for lunch and have limited seating. However they make it all work and the food is well worth it. Not to mention it is not expensive at all. They do also provide carry out and call ahead order. This is one of my staple locations for lunch in Springfield. Make sure to try it out if you are nearby.

Chocolate-glazed old fashioned and Bavarian cream donuts - The image shows a white plate with two donuts placed side by side. The donut on the left has a chocolate glaze with a textured, bumpy surface, possibly with nuts or toppings underneath. The donut on the right has a smooth, shiny chocolate coating on top, with visible cracks. The donuts are set on a dark, textured surface, likely a table or countertop.

I made my first visit to Master Donuts today after seeing lots of folks rave about it in local Facebook groups. The selection is moderately sized: a few cake donuts and quite a few yeast donuts, plus fritters and cinnamon rolls. I opted for my go-to donuts: a chocolate-glazed old fashioned and a Bavarian cream. (Yes, I got two donuts and ate both for lunch.) The old fashioned was not something I'd get again. It was thinner than I prefer and fried harder than I like. A few spots crunched. The chocolate glaze was nice, though! The Bavarian was tastier, in my opinion. The yeast donut was soft and there was plenty of filling. The filling and glaze were good. I'll definitely consider this place for donuts in the future, but I'll probably stick to the yeast variety!

Don't go here. It's 9.50 for a dozen donuts! What a rip off. I rather go to the grocery store and get donuts. Will not be coming back ever!

R-HAAN THAI - Tom Kha Soup with tofu (takeout)

I ordered the Tom Yum soup with Shrimp medium-spicy. It came out with great flavor, and had a bit more kick than I'm used to (which was fine). Service was good -- they refilled plenty of water for me. It seems to be a family-owned restaurant (they had some younger kinds hanging around, which I always appreciate). The building itself is a bit run-down. And while I'm not really familiar with the area, the neighborhood also seemed to be a bit sketchy. However, it was cozy inside, and the food was good, so I would definitely return.

Yay new Thai food in the hood!…read more Pad Kee Mao - 5 stars!!! Our go to is always Sabai's seafood Pad Kee Mao, but this place serves up an excellent value with the same freshness and delicious flavors. Shrimp were decent and quite a few onions, but otherwise it was perfect! Tom Kha Soup - Loved the scratch made goodness with all the lemongrass, galangal and ginger pieces. It seemed to be lacking some acid, salt and sweetness but maybe it was just an off night. The fried tofu was tasty, even though I usually prefer fresh tofu. 4 stars. The owner was so kind and friendly - you can't help but want to support families like theirs. Sounds like the previous owner had health issues and this family came down from Portland to take over. Can't wait to try the entire menu!!!

My husband and I visited for the first time one weeknight evening. The lady who took our order remembered us on just our second visit (maybe because we went back two days later) and brings hot sauce to our table every visit since without us having to ask. We usually get 2 main dishes to share and an appetizer or two. Portions are great we often come home with leftovers. We love the daily specials. There is also an extensive lunch special menu available weekdays from 11-2pm. Haven't been able to pick a favorite dish because we can't help but try something new every time. Truly a gem here in Springfield. They've made lifelong regulars out of us.

The worst EVER! Have had them over the past few years and it's been OK, not great but palatable…read more The last time we ordered the calamari it was tough (overcooked) and the crab fried rice smelled and tasted off, like it was old. This last time we ordered Pad See Ew and Beef Yakisoba. The Pad See Ew tasted of nothing but oil, lacked very little sauce and noodles were way overcooked. The Beef Yakisoba was similar but also would add that the vegetables were old...the broccoli was turning color (yellow) and the mushrooms were slightly slimy and mushy. The noodles tasted like basic ramen, not Yakisoba that were just blanched in hot water and quickly stir fried. They still had that starchy texture and chewy much like the beef. We contacted DoorDash and all they offered was a $5 refund on a $55 bill plus an $11 tip for shitty food. We're all about supporting local food establishments before chain restaurants but don't waste your hard earned money on this place. We never will again.

I went in expecting a quick bite and left wondering if I should cancel my flight and commit to a long-term relationship with their menu. The service was the kind that makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit: attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it. You know, the sweet spot most places miss by a mile. The ambiance strikes that rare balance: polished enough to feel like you made a good decision, but relaxed enough that no one's judging you for aggressively enjoying your curry. Now, the portions. Let's just say I arrived hungry and quickly realized I had made a tactical error by also having a flight to catch. The plates are generous. Borderline ambitious. Under different circumstances I would've happily taken half of it home. And the price? Genuinely refreshing. You get high-quality food, generous portions, and excellent service without that subtle sting of regret when the bill arrives. It feels almost suspiciously reasonable. I walked in trying to kill time before a flight and walked out wondering if I should start scheduling layovers in Eugene on purpose.

We got seated right away at a booth with a window view. My waitress was an older Asian lady. She was very nice, not too talkative, but she was on top of her things. I was craving soup and decided on the highly recommended tom kha with tofu. To start, we had thai tea, thai coffee and the shrimp triangle. For our entrees, we decided on the pad see eu (they spell it pad se eu here), panang curry. The shrimp triangles were very yummy. Definitely get those. The thai tea and coffee was good, but just a little watered. I expected the taste to last in my mouth for a little bit. But it didn't. For the soup, I was excited to taste the soup! It smelled really good and it was boiling hot. My thought after my first sip of Tom Kha was, ok, this is good, they got it, but it just wasn't quite there. I couldn't pinpoint what was missing. Then I figured out that they didn't use full coconut milk. It was just a little bit and it was the lighter version. How disappointing! I wanted the robust tang, spice and coconut like how I have at home. The entrees made me sad. I really, really wanted to love it. The panang curry should be rich, thick and creamy. Instead it was soupy. I was really expecting and wanting the curry to stick to my rice, but instead it made soupy curry rice. My daughter pointed out that the curry and the tom kha soup was the same color and consistency. I didn't want to believe, but I think they used the same base and added the appropriate toppingss and seasonings to make a soup and a curry. My saddest dish was my last one that came out. It was the pad se eu. The wide rice noodles was wet and in broken pieces. I'm Asian and I'm from Vegas via Hawaii which means we have a lot of Asian cuisines, we know our food and have friends who work in high end Thai restaurants. (Think Lotus of Siam) When rice noodles break into smaller pieces, it means the noodles are probably not fresh and got hard. To soften, the cook used extra water and the heat was not high enough to cook, so it stuck to pan, making the cook mix it around more...broken wet noodles that doesn't brown. Overall, I really wanted to love this place. It has potential. Maybe it was an off day but on that day I went, it didn't give me the wow I expected. Most of the items has the taste on point. Please don't water down the curry or use lower fat coconut cream. I'm not used to having regular brocolli in thai food either, but I guess this is what Eugene likes or what we can get. And people, share your food! Thai food is family style! Share it! Put it in the middle of the table and let the other person have some! I was people watching around my table and my table was the only one that didn't have our own entree per person. lol

I ordered the pad thai with beef and crab fried rice (to go). My sister ordered the red curry. The food took a long time! Our server was avoiding our table, no updates on the food or a 'sorry the kitchen is backed up'. There were lots of people ordering take out, after our food order was placed. The restaurant got busier. It took about 30 minutes to get our dinner. The Pad Thai was very bland, one tone tasting. There wasn't much beef, veggies or flavor. The noodles were all clumped together, broken chunks. Usually the Pad Thai is served with beans sprouts, lime wedges, crushed peanuts on the side to mix. I had to ask for the lime wedges. The lime wedges helped the blandness, added a punch of flavor. For $18 pad thai, I expected way better especially for the long wait time. My sister enjoyed her red curry. The crab fried rice was extra fishy smelling, which was off putting. I felt the crab was bad or going bad. Crab isn't that smelly, neither is imitation crab. We got the bill and we were still waiting an extra 10-15 minutes for the crab fried rice. We were there about an hour, mostly waiting for our food. The service wasn't superb. The hot Thai tea is unsweetened and came in a pot, great for a chilly day. The pad Thai noodle soup was yummy. It had a bunch of chicken and squid, the rice noodles were cooked well, and the broth was flavorful. I ordered it extra spicy and there was definitely some heat to it. The pad mango with tofu was fresh with big chunks of mango and tofu that were seasoned well. The sampler was also nice to share amongst 4 people. There were 3 sauces: sweet/sour, peanut butter, and a refreshing one that looked like pico. It came with 3 pork wontons, 2 egg rolls cut in half, fried tofu, and 2 chicken satay skewers. A nice appetizer to the meal. Solid lunch spot, would come again.
