Mango margarita
Jawhara G.

I came here while in search for a Mexican spot to celebrate #NationalTequilaDay and I was certainly not disappointed! There was an $8 house margarita special so I ordered the mango marg and it was perfect! I was pleasantly surprised by the size as well. I ordered an assortment of tacos (chicken, steak, and pastor) and doubled back on the steak. They were all good and only $5 each, but the steak was my favorite by far. The flavor, top notch! It's a smaller spot but they have an upstairs section as well with more seating. I was able to find free street parking easily and the service was quick, friendly, and efficient. I would definitely return!

Still my fav Mexican place in STL! Javier is the most amazing owner/host you could ask for. You feel the coolness of the place when you walk in. Which gives you a welcoming feeling. Then you see the wall of tequila, as you take your seat, and decide. The place has two levels, so you can have a party there. I'm pretty sure you would have to call for that. I had a Milagro Reposado to start. Then I had three tacos ($3 on Taco Tuesday) 2 carnitas, one carne asada. With a side of rice n beans. They use the best meats for there tacos! The little crispy skin on the carnitas, and the tenderness of the carne asada are so scrumptious! This is my Taco Tuesday spot!

I tried them out last night with friends and holy moly taco joint!!!! AMAZING! This restaurant is nestled on a popular corner in soulard and while there isn't a great deal of space on the first floor (several 2/4 top tables and the bar) but the second floor has much more space for larger groups. You are quickly greeted when you walk in (we were by the bartender) and given a table. Our party started at 5 but quickly grew to ten with an out of town friend, but the restaurant was so accommodating and excited to have people come in on what seemed to be a slower day (they just opened in this location). On Tuesdays, street tacos are $3 and I will be back literally every tuesday. I have not had a street taco so packed full of flavor, with the two corn tortillas perfectly crispy in the right spots, the meat was so tender and falling apart, on top of the spicy taco sauce on the side! Holy moly. So so good. I also got the fajas fajitas but on top of nachos. I love that their fajitas come with queso (as I usually add it) and that the rice was SEASONED!! I have no complaints. My fav marg was the Traviesa, YUM.. but all the margs we had we loved (with an extra shot because the sweet and sour mix was a bit on the sweet side for my liking. I want to take the time to shout out Jose who was not just our server but was also the bartender! He had so many roles yesterday but didn't let that stop him from being an absolute pleasure and making sure we were enjoying our time at the restaurant. Definitely recommend!! Get the carnitas and al pastor street tacos- you won't be disappointed!!

I had a great experience here! On the corner, it is a bit dark with no notable sign. However, the inside was decorated and smelled delicious, when walking in. Sat at the bar and was served promptly. Chips and salsa were not complementary. Food came out quickly and was steaming hot!! Fajitas are my go-to and these were good not great, a bit under seasoned like the salsa. Though my friend highly enjoyed his tacos. I would come again to try something new as well as experience the wonderful staff here at Mas Taquilas!!!

The cutest little place! Javi, the owner, was so nice and welcoming. So very friendly, the perfect lunch stop for taco Tuesday! They have $3 tacos specials on Tuesday which is a killer deal because that's almost half price! We got two orders of nachos as well, one with ground beef, and one with marinated chicken because we just couldn't decide which to get. Both were delicious! We ate every bit. I recommend the Pastor tacos or the guacataco!

We were excited to try Mas Tequilas after reading reviews but ended up really disappointed. Arrived at 9:00 on a Friday night and only one person was handling all of the service - inside, outside and bartending. Took forever to place an order. We made the mistake of ordering the house margarita special for $4. Ended up ordering $10 tequila shots to make the margarita palatable. Food was just ok. Paid $8 for a side of rice and beans and $5 for chips and salsa (which didn't arrive until well after we received our food). We sat on the patio which could have been nice but all of the empty tables were covered with dirty dishes because no one bothered to clear the tables. Not planning to go back.

We came here for a friends birthday, and the food was pretty standard for STL Hispanic. I'm from Texas originally and wasn't really all that impressed with the food itself, but it got the job done. There is space both down and upstairs, and parking is on the street. We ended up getting the margaritas, but apparently you can purchase a giant vat of margarita for the table. Definitely looked big enough for 5-6 people. All in all, pretty average night & experience

The best margarita I've ever had! I got the coconut one and it was amazing! My coworkers and I went on Taco Tuesday ($3 tacos) and they were so delicious! The staff was amazing and food/drinks were top notch! Definitely going back

Great food at a great price. Outdoor patio is great for dog owners. The nachos and fajitas with chicken and steak are two of my faves.

My friends got some different, more unique drinks though that were really inventive and the sip I had of one of them confirmed that they do taste as good as they look. The lobster roll doughnut I had was really fun, and I'd definitely try it again, though I think sharing it with a friend along with a big side order of their fries might be the winning move here. I don't live in STL so not sure when I'll be back but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this spot to others as it really is a little gem of a restaurant.

I will say, I don't know if the flavors entirely complimented one another. There was some lemon peel for citrus, some dried tomato which added some nice sweet and bitter, but altogether I didn't quite get it. Felt like a creamy mac and cheese. Still would come back for another visit and try something else!

I was in need of killing time before a crochet lesson down the street and I thought enjoying a cocktail was a good idea. I was able to get a seat at the bar and immediately starting reading the menu of their signature cocktails. I went with, Sign Painter. It was served in a fluted glass and was made with rye whiskey. I'm a big fan of rye and I found this drink very refreshing. I am a cocktail snob, I enjoy a well made cocktail. Being a snob, I want a mixologist that prepares a masterful cocktail. Enjoying my cocktail and watching the gentleman working behind the bar, I can honestly say, he is a masterful bartender. This visit, I did not order any food items. However, seeing the food severed around me, I'll definitely be back to enjoy to enjoy some Crab Stuffed Mushrooms or a Crab Cake Sandwich. The inside of the bar is compact. In addition to the bar sitting, there's a row of booths along the wall. Beyond the barroom, is a backroom that's is pretty comfy and classy, too. My friends that were a little bit more accustomed to different alcohols loved all of the drinks, especially the Mezcal and sweet corn one! My favorite personally was the Ube, espresso, and Matcha beverage that came with dessert. My favorite meal has to be a tie between the steak, which melted in our mouths, and the cavatelli, which had beef cheek and a Bolognese sauce. The Erie vibe of this with the long table, and so many candles was absolutely stunning, and the staff were absolutely amazing, and even dressed up to fit the vibe! After looking at a handful of menus on the street, we de died on Good Company. Service was great. Very attentive. They immediately asked if we had any dietary issues and then promptly after hearing out needs, made a handful of recommendations. We started with the cauliflower. It was excellent the light sauce and pine nuts really made this dish top notch. The vegetarian and GF adults then split the Caesar salad and the squash seasonal salad. Both were so flavorful, filling and entirely unique. If you're a salad eater, I'd highly recommend either one of these. The carnivore in our group ordered the Italian beef with French fries. Unfortunately they were out of the Italian beef so he had to settle on the wings. The wings were a solid lunch after an appetizer, but the sauce was not what was expected. Overall, the menu is simple, maybe 15 items in total and they probably need to have more for carnivores who are looking for something other than a hamburger and not too heavy for lunch. One of the staff behind the bar came and took our order. I stuck with water and we ordered chicken wings to share, I also got the Cucumber Tomato Salad for my meal, it sounded so fresh! Chicken wings came out fairly quick; delivered by the host who seated us. They were really good. The skin was crisp and the buffalo sauce a good flavor. We both enjoyed them. They came with a Green Goddess dressing, I am not a fan of that dressing, but the wings were good on their own. My salad came out and it was as refreshing as it sounded! It was the half salad, and it was a generous portion. Cornichon, Oven-Roasted Tomato, Crispy Shallot, Chopped Egg, and Dill Buttermilk dressing. It was perfectly dressed, and great proportions on the ingredients. My daughter ordered the Patty Melt advertised on Union Loafers bread and that clinched it for her. She indicated it was very good. The food was delivered by someone other than our server. After our food was delivered no one came back to check on us and we waited quite a while before we could get someone's attention to bring boxes and our check. While we were waiting the employees were setting up for dinner service, adding mini aperitif style glasses and then a couple came in for an early dinner and their server was so awesome, he came over and chatted with them offering samples of some kind of alcohol, he was so friendly! If we had been a little later and had him for a server, it would have changed our whole experience! We both commented that on our way out after we had eventually got settled up
