Grilled Skirt STEAK

If you happen to stumble upon Marlowe like we did I'm confident that you will leave as full and satisfied as we did. A charming little bistro inspired by the Marlowe cows, I'm assuming, managed to stun us with several memorable dishes. The warm deviled eggs were an excellent start. Savory yet delicate enough to not weigh us down right at the beginning of our meal. The horseradish aioli wasn't for me, but I can see its appeal for a certain audience. You give me a Calabrian chili sauce and it's guaranteed to make me happy and this shrimp with sweet corn was no exception. Again, light but a punchy flavor that was enjoyable. I could go on and on about the different dishes we tried but the real standout of the night was the pork tenderloin with chorizo and peaches. The sweetness from the peaches somehow managed to enhance the flavor of the chorizo. This dish gives you a bold, savory and sweet bite all together but still won't have you feeling super heavy. The portion size is perfect. Im hoping to return soon for another exquisite meal.

Well the other three went for the burgers but I was not ready to look at another burger. I was delighted that they had Marrow bones my super favorite childhood treat . I used to try and take them all . This one was smoked which was a very nice touch a little different with a little French onion gratinée I loved the marrow bones but could easily done without the gratinée. They raved about their burgers and fries. The lighting was very nice and artistic. The menu is quite interesting with a lot of choices depending on your budget. I would like to return to try something new again .

Ordered a pick-up lunch order. Pickup itself was very easy. Went up to the host stance, gave them my pickup info, and they brought it out, ready to go. - marlowe burger - heard this was one of the must try items. Caramelized onions, cheddar, bacon, and horseradish aioli. Usually I order burgers medium rare, but with to-go I usually order rare as I've found that a lot of to-go burgers tend to sit in a box and warm up one level of temp. So I ordered this one rare, and it came rare, which was impressive! I'll know to get mid rare next time. - chopped salad - well balanced and refreshing to enjoy alongside the burger Overall really solid, especially for an easy lunch in the area. I did find the horseradish in the burger to be a bit intense but that's just personal preference.

Spicy shakshuka Crispy PORK Schnitzel

Walked in on a Sunday around 12pm. They were serving brunch, which ends at 2:30. The place was packed and we had to wait around 15mins for a table. A few before us had made reservations so i would suggest making one for larger parties. The place has a bar section and booths on the side. We ordered the spicy shakshuka and the pork schnitzel and deviled eggs to share. The shakshuka was very flavorful and had spices which i enjoyed. The pork schnitzel was very tender on the inside but crispy on the outside. I also really enjoyed the deviled eggs and asked for mine without cheese. Still delicious without.

Really loved my dinner at Marlowe! Cute place. Not busy on the Sunday evening we dined there and service was lovely. Personal favorite bites were the lamb ribs and scallops. Interesting cocktail list as well.

This was a great find. The greeting was very kind and accommodating and the food was excellent. My friends all ordered the skirt steak and were all talking about how amazing it was. I order the pork cheeks and they were beautifully prepared and tasty. We wanted to try the crème brûlée but they ran out so word of advice, order early. Overall I was very pleased with the presentation, service, kindness and taste. Top notch and I will be back.

Marlowe Burger (a la carte @$16.00)+ fries ($8.00) with a horse radish sauce

Dropped by Thursday afternoon checking out the area. Restaurant was maybe at 75% capacity with a mix of engineers working nearby and investment/business people discussing potential deals. There weren't many food establishments nearby so this was a limited option. Ordered the Marlowe Burger and Fried Chicken sandwich, both with fries that was an additional $8.00 as the burgers are a la carte. The buns were tasteless and wished it was toasted or spread with sauce to add some texture profile and taste. Both sandwiches were cooked okay but flavor profile was seriously lacking. The white sauce had a strong horse radish taste but that wasn't going to save the sandwich at all. The fried chicken was two pieces which made it fall apart while eating. Fries were crisp and tender but many pieces were small like two inches long. Short fries looks like it was scooped from leftovers at the bottom of the bag. Service was okay but the vibe felt like the employees were not happy working there. It wasn't super busy as the crowd didn't order much food. Pricewise -on point for what it is worth but I wouldn't come here to eat a delicious meal. For sandwiches and burgers, get in-n-out or the multiple fried chicken sandwiches places that are to die for.

Black Pepper & Parmesan GOUGERES

We were looking for a relaxed spot for a lite boozy Sunday brunch and Marlowe hit the spot. We ordered savory (Gougère with smoked salmon) and sweet (the ricotta donuts we freshly made lite and filling) both hit the spot and washed it all down with cocktails and sparkling wine. We sat at the bar, best spot in the restaurant. The bartender was great and all the staff are great. Haven't had the burger in awhile but definitely on the list for my next visit.

The countless dinners at Marlowe's former spot & that bright-eyed, optimistic version of myself from two decades ago will always hold a special place in my heart. Our recent lunch at their Brannan St. location didn't give me the same feels as before. I can't name what's changed about their once-amazing burger. It's still a decadent handheld package, & the caramelized onions & horseradish aioli give it intense flavoring, but this isn't the burger we once knew & loved. I do appreciate that our server & the chef made sure my patty was cooked to perfection. Side of fries, as well as our starter of Brussels sprouts chips, were properly crispy. Typical New American fare served in a black & white minimalistic space. I miss when Marlowe had all kinds of character & menu offerings that tasted extra special.

Farm Egg SCRAMBLE

Farm egg scramble was super fresh, came out fluffy, warm, and delicious! We also got the Marlowe burger to be shared by the table, hence it was cut into 4 pieces. Solid burger and highly recommended! Thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant ambiance as well, amazing service.

Great staff, super friendly and accommodating. The interior was very fun with pictures of cows. The food was great I loved the fries and the burger was amazing but a little too much horseradish for my liking. The staff make this place a 5 star!

Bianca Marie A.

Made reservations for a Saturday night at 8:45pm and it was busy! The inside is super cute with a lot of cow decorations. The staff were very kind and helpful. All of the drinks sounded really good and they were all delicious! Just a warning, there is one drink that says it's spicy so be warned, it is actually QUITE spicy. As for the food, my group of 5 family styled the food which was the way to go. Everything was very good and flavorful, but if you order yourself your own entree, I would think that the one flavor would be too overwhelming since most of their entrees were very meat heavy. The pork cheeks and scallops were the highlight!

Vicki L.

Great brunch! Order the burrata/levin/pear/prosciutto dish, burger, or French toast soldiers. Top it off with the peanut butter bites.

Are there vegetarian options for "the experience"?

Yes veggie on menu. Very yummy items too. Go for it.

Do you have good vegetarian options?

Yes but I do not remember all the dishes, but they had many good salads.

Are you not serving bone marrow on your menu anymore?

Yes we are!!

When is Marlowe reopening? Can't wait to come back!

Went there for lunch 3/18/22. Good times!

Do they/you have gluten free and/or dairy-free options for dinner?

Yes!

Does this place have Gluten Free options for people with Gluten Allegies?

no - they may speak of it, but not really

Best place to park?

Street parking

IS this place good for families?

It depends on the age of the kids. It's definitely a loud, crowded, food scene/bar scene. If you have young kids, definitely not. Plus, the food is only ok.

Is the main dish here shareable?

The dish I ordered was just for one person. But if I got a plate of chicken strips and fries, I would think that would be ok for 2 people if u ordered dessert after.

Is this a good restaurant to talk business at lunch? I do like the idea of a casual elegance atmosphere yes calm enough where business can be discussed. Thoughts?

I think it depends on the client. It may be a little noisy. Depending on the time and the deal you are making, there are definitely other places that are a better business deal atmosphere.. hope that helps.

Personally, I found the first two drinks to be a bit too sweet, but I liked the third, which was coconut forward. The price is definitely a bit more costly. It was $100/person for a party of five. I understand that it was an escape room + the staff + the cocktails. If you max out the party size, it's about $85-ish per person which I think is pretty solid. Still very unique and fun and glad I got to try it

This place has so much going on. It makes it ideal for so many different things. Hot day? Want to bring your doggie?? They have an airy patio and a bunch of cute tables out front. The patio is covered so when it rains, it's also ideal. Feeling bougie? Order some oysters and a glass of one of their fancy cocktails. Handicapp or have kiddos? They got you covered. Need a cool place for a dinner date? There's tables inside. Have a group? Also not a problem. Feeling peckish and just need to get out of the house? Go sit at the bar, order a beer, and watch the game. Make sure to order the thrasher fries with malt vinegar salt and pepper and Dijon and black pepper aïoli. It is truly as delectable as it sounds, and by far my favorite thing there! That being said, I am a french fry aficionado. We also tried the coconut chicken sandwich which I found to be a bit different than a lot of standard fried chicken sandwiches. I did ask for the chili sauce on the side because I don't like it to be too sweet. Boyfriend loved it with the chili sauce. I liked it without. I did order a side of aïoli. Another thing I found really nice was that they use the chicken thigh rather than the breast. Most of the fried chicken sandwiches I've had use the breast and this was a very nice change. The chicken was juicy and the sandwich was super tasty. They offer all sorts of tasty delights, like fish tacos, mochicko chicken bites, mac & cheese with or without bacon and crab! Yum. If I was to make one recommendation, it would be to add another salad to the menu. Your menu offers a wonderful variety of delicious treats that are on the richer and heavier side so having another option for something on the lighter side would be fantastic. The service here was outstanding. We came early on a Tuesday, and the bartender was great. She was very helpful and excellent at her craft. The other staff members were equally friendly and so welcoming. We don't get out as much as we'd like to anymore because we have a little one so it was awesome to go out and be treated with such kindness and great hospitality. The nori rice cracker was tasty by itself but its crevices weren't the most conducive to holding the fish pieces. The uni amaebi donburi was packed with fresh ikura, uni, and shrimp. I felt that the Korean seaweed wasn't the most appropriate since its inherent salt kinda overpowered the fresh umaminess of the seafood. The shoji burger came with a well-seasoned patty and American cheese, but is served with a 3 cheese fondue skillet. It was tasty because of the gooey cheese. Even with the most coordination and dexterity, it was logistically challenging to eat the burger (especially since they do not serve it with knives) as well as the ceviche/donburi, so I would recommend reconsidering if you're planning a first date or need to impress parents/bosses.
