Amazing service and friendly staff! My daughter and I called right when they opened and they were able to fit us in pretty soon after for a side-by-side mani/pedi. The staff were very friendly with my daughter, who is shy, and she was so excited to have so much time spent on her nails. Treat yourself! I've loved Marlowe since they opened in Berkeley. The service is top notch, everything is so clean, and they are so good at what they do. And while the prices are a little higher, you get what you pay for! That, and good to be supporting a small business that treats its staff well and with a living wage. Can't recommend Marlowe enough! I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because the aesthetic and atmosphere were so good walking in. I paid for an upgraded gel mani and it's the worst gel mani I've ever had for the price of $90 plus tip. Started chipping 3 days later. The so called 10 minute massage in the Big Sur package was maybe 5 minutes and the nail tech got my sleeves all wet with the scrub. The wooden chairs are less than desirable for sitting more than 10 minutes. The nail tech hardly spoke to me and which made it awkward hearing all the chatter in the pedicure room. I thought I was missing out on something. Not to mention, I wasn't even offered the "free" take home kit when I left. Go elsewhere for half the price and the same amount of "pampering". read more

I booked manicures and pedicures for me and my children for Mother's Day. Mostly because my youngest is named Marlowe and I thought it was cute. The environment is nice and new so everything is clean and the staff are very friendly but it certainly is not worth the price tag. I used to get my pedicures at Nob Hill spa and this was similar price for literally half of the time. This wasn't really anything special that the hole in the wall nail salons do for a quarter of the price. I also didn't appreciate that the staff went and changed the colors my middle child chose to something they wanted her to have :(. read more

Second time back as I love the environment, cleanliness and aesthetics of the salon. The nail tech was lovely. My only suggestion is to actually do a 45 minute pedicure whatever it entails (mine was 30 minutes so not sure what was skipped) or rewrite your menu board to say it is a 30 minute pedicure. I did notice a few bubbles on my nail so a smoother mani would be nice (maybe it was my choice of polish). I'd return. It would by a great place to go with a friend or a group. read more

The cleanest setting and products and the most Amazing color selection. Apart from a very nice space I would say the pedicure was of a price I could have gotten at any other location in Larkspur. The lady that did my nails did not even file my nails, had to do it myself. For $96 that feels like a rip off. Not sure I would come back here. read more

It is a very lovely salon. The one thing I hate is that the manicurist moves through it so quickly it is as if she is being timed with a stop watch. This makes me feel tense. I tip well so would appreciate it if the manicurist doesn't treat me like she is in a hurry to get done and boot me out! Slow down a bit and stop making me feel tense. read more

I'm updating my review and adding a few positive comments, because I had a $60 gift certificate to use and gave them another try. Still not a five star experience but the second visit was far more enjoyable than the first visit. Alina was sweet, and made me feel welcome and gave me a mani/pedi. Unfortunately the manicure chipped almost immediately and was a mess a few hours later. Having paid $45 for the manicure I thought I should call and send photos. I had been careful and waited until nails dried so it seemed excessively chipped and the polish was gooey and sticky feeling. Ellie on the front desk was so understanding and booked me in to put it tight. .The manicurist I got today though, said it was my fault not the polish, and barely spoke to me throughout. When it was done she simply got up and left, didn't even say goodbye. She just said "wait for them to dry" and left. It was a very uncomfortable experience. At least the nails aren't sticky and chipping like the previous one. My lasting impression of Marlowe is that it's a lovely clean, and pretty salon, but it's hit or miss. A few of the staff are kind and welcoming but some are not so friendly with attitude. The basic manicure was definitely overpriced for $45. I would consider going back to Alina for a pedicure but would avoid the 2 others I had the misfortune to get. Thank you Ellie for providing friendly customer service though. read more

whoa, did this place exceed my expectations and absolutely make my day. first off, the vibe and ambience are hands down the best of any nail salon I have ever been too. as someone who has chronic health issues, cleanliness is extremely important to me and Marlowe uses medical grade sanitation to ensure your health and safety. this is huge for me, no more settling for mediocre nail salons where I can't help but question the cleanliness and if my feet are stewing in someone else's funk. I got the California Pedi with Alina- who was incredible. I kind of love they only do manis and pedis and don't subject customers to the chemicals and toxicity of nail products. they even offer kids manis and pedis and parents can feel good about their kids going there! the front staff was so help and kind- I ended up buying some of the products beautifully displayed and thoughtfully curated. everything in here screams welcoming luxury so everyone feels welcome and you know the service is top notch. this is literally more like a spa but with the chill energy that doesn't make you feel u comfortable or less than. how lucky is Marin to have a gorgeous, relaxing and health forward nail salon that truly values your health and satisfactio? I didn't know it was possible. not only did I have a pedicure that was so relaxing and thoroug, I left with incredible products, a free tote and they offer 10% off your next booking when scheduled after your appointmen. they also have the most incredible selection of nail products. everything about Marlowe went above and beyond my expectations, Alina and the front staff made me feel like a queen and I left with cheeks that hurt from smiling so much. so grateful to have found this place. pricing may seem a bit expensive but when you consider the extended time of the pedicure (compared to other nail salons) the quality of their products and the time and materials that go into their santizing process, you don't leave feel ripped off. now that I have experienced Marlowe, I will never go anywhere else. so grateful for this location and all of the services and products they offer.
