Got a gift certificate to try this place but unfortunately it was a bad experience. First of all to do a mani/pedi should take at least an hour I was done in 20 min. Second my toe nails are not even at all. Third, the coating is also uneven on both my mani/pedi. The atmosphere itself was ok. I personally wouldn't recommend. The service took longer than expected, 1.5 hours. Usually when I get acrylic regular my hands still go under the UV light but they put a fan instead and immediately after my nails began to chip. The nail polish is simply all messed up in all nails. It has NOT EVEN BEEN A WEEK...my nails are breaking. $45 plus tip $50. Never coming again. Highly recommend Wakiki nails over the bridge in Pinole. At least those nails are cheaper and last longer. I really wanted to try a new place :( read more

I've been looking for a new nail salon in Marin and Sophea at luxurious nails is awesome! They have a huge selection of colors for standard polish and gel. Sophea took her time and made sure the pedicure was perfect. She was super sweet and friendly to chat with as well. The salon was clean, street parking was easily available and they accept cash, credit card and venmo. Really happy with my pedicure and plan to return again in the future! read more

Unfortunately I don't recommend this nail salon. Foot/leg massage was super short. Maybe 2 minutes. And pedicure was sloppy (see picture). Polish looks thick. Paint outside of my nails. Doesn't look like she did much with my cuticles. Definitely not worth $30. read more

3-stars for the quality of the mani-pedi. I was a walk in and the energy was chaotic. The two ladies were running around, spilled water on the floor, she took her shoe off and threw a towel down in the floor and mopped it up with her bare feet. Then the nail shaming happened. "Ooooh it's been a LONG time since you take care of your nails". I know I know. "You need to take better care of your nails" "You don't like gel?" No I can't use gel because it trashed my nails. "No it's because you don't take care of of your nails". Meanwhile, she is answering the phone, turning the massage function on and then off on my chair and then throws a pillow in my lap. I don't know why. Then she takes it off, "it's too hot"'. She kept checking in but it was too much, "You like your massage?" "This feels good?" "Where do you live?" "You will come back?" "See things so relaxing". I was tense the entire time. Not their fault, but there internet was "off" and they couldn't take debit or Apple Pay so I had to go to the bank to pay take out cash. The lady doing my nails kept shouting to the other woman to "call your husband to fix internet" multiples times during my polish. It's just a neighborhood chop shop and points for being open on a Monday but way too aggressive and hectic. read more

Fantastic nail salon in the heart of San Anselmo with a talented new owner. I have been going to Sophea for about four months now and I couldn't be happier. My gel mani's are lasting about 3 weeks and I'm only having them done then because they've grown out so much! No chipping and no peeling. Pedi's are lasting about 6 weeks. The prices are fantastic and I am able to sit down at my appointment time instead of being made to wait for 45 minutes which is why I sought out a new salon. Sophea takes her time and is meticulous with cleaning cuticles and shaping my nails evenly. I cannot recommend her enough. If you're looking to make a change, give her a try. read more

Literally OBSESSED with this place it's so amazing. When I walked in I was kinda nervous because I wanted to try a new spot in my area. But once I walked in the energy was so welcoming and calming. Sophea, the new owner since January 2023, did a great job fixing a horrible gel manicure that I had yesterday for another salon in San Rafael. I highly recommend her. Please save your time and money!! This nail salon is unsanitary and the woman does such a horrible job. My toes needed some proper love, I'll admit that. But that's why I went in for a pedicure! She did a half-ass job with the cuticle work and nail filing and the paint job was sloppy. When I looked at it after I asked about the side of my big toes being left untouched and she blamed my nails for being too short... what? And then in regards to the paint job she said she was planning to "clean them later." After my manicure I guess? Regardless I left before the manicure, I didn't want my fingernails to be butchered as well. DO NOT GO HERE. I came home and immediately disinfected my feet/legs. Eeeeek! read more

Such a disappointing experience. I booked an appointment a week in advance and asked specifically for Sophie. When I arrived on time she was busy with someone else so asked another lady to help me. The lady was confused about polishes etc and I said I'd prefer to stick with Sophie as planned. Sophie switched with her and came to help me. We had a nice chat, and she did a good job on my pedicure but had to constantly stop & start to give the other lady advice. One hour later my pedicure was finally done. She was about to start on my manicure when another lady came in asking for an appointment. Sophie obviously knew her well as they started chatting. I was left waiting while they compared calendars and chatted. Finally Sophie said "Would you mind if (other lady) does your manicure instead. (Other lady was still with another customer too) I said "yes I would mind since I booked and came in specifically for you" Long story short - she wanted to give my time to her friend. I paid for the pedicure and left. Just AMAZED at such a strange and incredibly rude experience. I will never ever go back. Just WOW !!! read more
