I feel bad rating so low but really... polish came off the next day. I should have know when I walked in that it was a bad idea to come here, but I was pressed for time and she had otherwise good Yelp reviews so I made the bad decision to stay anyway. Well, not the typical spa or nail salon experience. Sat in a small rolling chair near the front door entrance. The salon didn't even have a chair! Color selection was minimal. Hardly spent any time on my feet. Didn't pumice or clip the cuticles or trim anything. Slapped on color in such a sloppy manner I could have done it better myself... the color didn't even last 24 hours and it's was "OPI". Yea right. I won't be returning. Susan has been doing my nails for two years now and is as kind and thorough as can be. Definitely would recommend making an appointment since it is just her and not a big salon. Susan is awesome. Her salon is adorable and cozy with just enough room without it being cluttered or messy. She is very organized, friendly, and has a perfect balance between not being social and being overly talkative--which is hard to find at nail salons. She is very meticulous, clean, and takes good care of both her supplies and your nails. She charges very reasonable prices and she had even started my nails before I remembered to ask if she takes cards (which she doesn't) but she understood and let me run to the bank after she did my nails. Something I would never want to happen yet she was really easy going and trusted that I would come right back. She doesn't have a lot of experience with acrylics because she said she mainly does manicures and pedicures but even having known that, I think she did a great job on my nails. $30 for a full acrylic set + polish. My daughter turned 6, and for her birthday she wanted a matty & paddy. I am a guy and had no clue what matty & paddy is. What was hard was my daughter wanted me to take her. I've read the reviews and see that Susan got high ratings for doing nails. That's great, unfortunately, she also does eyelash extensions. DO NOT RISK DAMAGE TO YOUR EYES by selecting her for this! I've had extensions for years off and on, a few different people and circumstances. Friends getting certified and need hours to fancy lash shops with experienced technicians and have never had anything but good and pleasant experience and outcomes. With Susan, I should have stopped her and left. It was a groupon and I should have just walked. I've never had lashes applied like that including the eye pads placed wrong causing my top and bottom lashes to become GLUED TOGETHER and Susan just ripping them apart so hard she ripped out chunk of natural lashes. She pulled and twisted my eyelids to where I really was worried for my eyes. I could go on but bottom line is: I don't think she is qualified to do lashes. Like, not even certified or trained much, not qualified. When she was finally done, and after several minutes with her prying lashes apart and looking for lashes poking my eyeball, I stopped the torture. I ended up running to the nearest store for tweezers to get out 4 lashes scraping my one eye and 2 on the other. In the end she apparently decided I would get the "natural look" which means not a lot. It looks ok for now but they are already falling out and they are 3 days old. OH, when trying to leave I did ask how much a fill was....she said 65, but she could do it for 60...That doesn't even make sense. She could DO IT for whatever she wanted. Sorry for the long rant, but I've always had good experiences with Groupon, and lash places, and am really disappointed with the Susan experience. Susan has done my nails for the past eight months. I have gels on my fingers and paint on my toes. She is a true artist when it comes to nails. Additionally she is kind, funny and full of wisdom. My favorite part of her salon is that there is plenty of parking, it is right off the freeway, and her salon does not smell like a nail salon. The salon is clean and never messy or overly crowded. Beautiful, quiet, and relaxing is what I have to say about this place. She offers waxing as well. Great prices, and she takes her time. I kept messing up my big toes. So she took care of me and wasn't bothered about fixing it for me. She didn't even make me pay more for her fixing it. I will definitely be coming back. read more
