Hailey deserves more than five stars!!!! I'm kind of obsessed with this place - I'd been getting acrylics with dip powder and a gel overlay (from another lovely nail spot) but they broke constantly and lifted after a week or two. I'm a swimmer - spend over five hours in the pool a week - this may have contributed to the issue, so I need something that will last. Hailey recently spent a few years in LA honing her craft before she returned to Marin to open her own spot, and wow she is so talented. professional, skilled and fast. I was out of there in about an hour, which is not what I'm used to :/ Hailey talked me into builder gel with the super hard extensions for my nubby no-nail-nails - YOU GUYS it has now been 25 days and they're still in amazing shape. Hailey is out of town until next week so I have no choice but to wait. Hey. No problem because these nails are still hard as a rock, not lifting, perfectly shaped and just so so good! I was looking high and low for someone who could give me great nails with a solid apex and a beautiful shape and I found her! I highly recommend Hailey and her crew for nails. I'm updating this review as I believe the recent conversation I had with Hailey or the team rubbed me the wrong way. I've posted what my previous set was and a new set that I was asking for a quote on. I understand we live in Marin County where prices are higher, but $95 for nails every month is a lot. I may be used to Sacramento prices where it was $45-$60 depending on the intricate details in the nail art requested. But $95 is too much for me. I do want to save money where I can especially in this economy. I get my nails done to make myself feel good. & this conversation just didn't make me feel good as a repeat customer. I won't be back here unless I choose to treat myself. I received quotes from 3 other salons for the same service and within 5 miles and the highest quote was $70 including a brand new set. This is my personal experience. I think Hailey and the staff are skilled and the quality is there. I want to ensure it's known, I've been happy with the work I've received but I also want to ensure there is transparency with the cost. Absolutely appalled -- unsanitary and unprofessional. This was my first and last visit to this nail spa, and I'm still in disbelief at what I experienced. The nail tech who came to do my manicure had a visible cut on her middle finger, with blood literally dripping down her hand. I calmly pointed it out, and she responded with a blank expression and said she didn't know why she was bleeding. No apology. No attempt to stop the bleeding. Nothing. Disturbed, I asked to go to the bathroom to wash my hands--and was horrified to find the sink filled with nail instruments. Some appeared to be used, some not yet cleaned, and all of them in the same sink where I was expected to wash my hands. I am a healthcare provider and take sanitation very seriously. This was completely unacceptable. When I returned to the chair, the tech--now wearing a glove--was visibly bleeding through it. Again, not a word of acknowledgment or apology. Instead, she seemed irritated and started loudly complaining to another tech. Then she turned her frustration toward me for choosing to get only a manicure when I had originally scheduled both a mani and pedi. She actually reprimanded me for not calling in advance to change it. I politely responded that there wouldn't be a next time. At that point, she raised her voice and said, "I don't feel comfortable doing your nails then!" Well, neither did I. This is a serious public health concern. I plan to report this incident to the Cosmetology Board of Marin and Health and Human Services. The complete disregard for basic sanitation, bloodborne pathogen precautions, and professionalism is appalling. I would strongly urge anyone considering this salon to think twice. Hygiene standards are not optional--they are the bare minimum. NEVER again read more

Hailey Nails was recommended to me by my boss, who absolutely loves this place. Every time I've seen her Gel-X, they've been well-shaped and painted beautifully, so I was excited to try it. Sanitary concerns: I noticed that files were not disposable and reused, sanding bits were reused, and I didn't see the pedicure tubs get cleaned after use. I know they put liners in, but every other salon I've been to also sanitizes the tubs afterward. I came in for an acrylic fill and a deluxe pedicure. Pedicure: 10/10. She did a great job cutting, shaping, and painting my toes, and the massage was wonderful. Acrylic fill: This was where things went downhill. They were running behind, so Hailey started my fill late. I didn't mind waiting since I had nothing after, but because it was close to closing, she rushed through. What normally takes my nail girl an hour and a half was done in 35 minutes and it shows. I've never seen someone rip off leftover acrylic with a tip before, which seemed harsh on my natural nails. I had a few breaks that needed tips, but those nails are now significantly longer than the rest, and she didn't bother to compare or shape them evenly. Also paid no attention to my cuticles. My nails are bulky, uneven, and different lengths.I even made a few comments and asked. Heads up: if you want a specific shape, they charge an extra $5. I usually pay $75-$85 for a fill, but here I paid $95 for a rushed, low-quality job. It felt ridiculous for the result I got. (I only came because my usual tech is on vacation and I needed a fill before a wedding this weekend.) They also incentivize cash payments, which I understand, but charging $2-$3 in "taxes" and then another $5 just for shaping felt excessive. To be fair, the ombré polish itself looks good, but overall this experience was disappointing. The pedicure was amazing, but the rushed, uneven fill and the sanitary concerns make me hesitant to return. read more

I called last minute and made an appointment for 3 people & though they served us even until after closing, I still felt like they really took their time to do my nails especially since I asked for small designs and I really appreciated that! From my experience, this is a little bit pricier than salons around the area BUT this is also one of my fav designs & I came out of the store with EXACTLY what I wanted! My favourite nail salon in the Bay Area. As someone who religiously had their nails done prior to emigrating (I'm Irish) I found it so hard to find a good nail salon that actually could do exactly what I asked for. The skills that all of the techs have is phenomenal but Jayden in particular (he's my usual nail artist) is something else. I asked Jayden to draw a claddagh ring on my nails before and he nailed it! I went to Hailey a few times in the past, I was very happy with her work. I wanted to go again for the quality of the nails. I requested to schedule an appointment on friday at 5 pm, I work full time and finding availability is difficult. I also work in Marin but live in SF. She told me she is very busy on fridays, asked if I could make my appointment on Thursday instead. I said yes. I get to my appointment with 5 minutes to spare. I get there and I sit down, 2 minutes go by and she comes up to me saying that she was very busy, if I can reschedule to the next day. What I had originally planned for. I reluctantly agreed. I left her salon in a bad mood, there was traffic on my way there, it was already out of the way for me to get there, I was rushing to get there, and I don't even get attended.... A waste of my gas. I was in a bad mood the next day that I was not in the mood to go to my appointment the next day, which I was probably not even going to be attended to..... This business needs to learn how to deal with this, that if someone makes an appointment days, weeks prior, they should be seen as a priority than walk ins or same day appointments. My friends have gone to her as well, and were made to wait more than 10 minutes for their appointments. This is not good customer service, in fact terrible. If you have time to wait more than 30 minutes to be attended to for your appointment then go for it, or made to reschedule. read more

I've debated writing this review for a while, but after two or three visits here this is why I won't be returning. It's very much a family run business which I'm all for, but also feels a bit chaotic / dramatic sometimes when you're hoping for a relaxing time. The last time I was here I saw a woman come in because of fungus growing under her nail set she received from Hailey, a larger guy get up and walk out while doing the nails of a woman (and not come back to finish them), and the dad or someone else seling army clothing out of his trunk in the parking lot and come inside frequently. They also seem to overbook because I've always had a wait even with an appointment. Definitely surprised by the high rating on here, but maybe I've just visited on off days. read more

Not only is she absolutely the sweetest and a darling doll, but my nails were perfect and have lasted more than 2 weeks. I was having trouble with some of the other nail places I used to go to and their quality going down, where my nails were only lasting a few days, maybe a week at best. I highly recommend Hailey. I highly recommend not coming here. I had an appointment for 2 people at 12pm on November 1st. I was seen within 20 minutes and my sister wasn't till 12:45. They started on someone who seemed to be a regular instead us who had an appointment. A obviously sick man named Jayden was aggressively taking my old gel X off. It was extremely unprofessional and hurt me so bad I eventually asked for a soak off and he still tried not doing so. I had 4 fingernails bleeding and all I got a half ass excuse as to why. She was charged $65 for gel X, an additional $13 for a very simple design, and an additional $10 for a french tips on only 2 nails. I opt for simple, clean, classic, but if you like more color and intricate design, she does it all. I'm so excited to finally have a local place that does extravagant designs!!!! I came in with some inspiration and Haley's boyfriend really delivered. I asked for some extra embellishments and they pulled out all the stops. I also got a pedi which was fantastic. The box sets that they use are so nice. I chose the Jasmine scented one and it smelled amazing. The lotion that came with it felt so good and kept my legs and arms moisturized for hours until I went to shower. BEST manicurist in Marin!! I moved from Mill Valley which had pretty decent nail shops to San Rafael where I couldn't find any great ones. I tried Hailey's shop as soon as it opened and wow, I'm so impressed! This is definitely the best salon I've been to. Hailey has way more styles of paint to choose from, like Korean polishes and cat eye polish, plus she can do some cool art and just an excellent, regular mani.
