Long time customer but won't be back after my recent experience. Cut my cuticle while getting a gel manicure making it bleed (and hurt too), bullying me about not being a loyal customer and going to many different salons. I actually only frequent 2 saloons based on my 50 plus hour work schedule ( this being one of them) . Ridiculing my other manicurist work and wanting to know the name of salon. Who cares? Is it her business? Kind of like when you go for a hair appointment and the stylist bad mouthing the other person whose been doing your hair. Always a bad sign, no one wants hear it. Finally, she was rough with nails the entire time. I don't know about you but when I go to get my nails done, it's an hour I need for rest and relaxation. This experience was anything but that. Had an appointment (was on time), and after waiting 30 minutes, I told them I would come in another time. They told me I owed 25% of the cost (no service provided), and then proceeded to yell at me when I balked at this. And I am (was) a customer. Usually when a business provides bad service/extended wait time, they might give the customer a coupon - not ask them to pay when no service was given! So this happened. Cuticle hack. My previous pedicure had only been 3 weeks prior and I'm sure my cuticles didn't need attacking, especially (if ever) in that area, but she was trimming very quickly. The young technician apologized, but she needed help to stop the bleeding. They were really busy too, although we had booked a week in advance, my mother had to wait 25 mins to get her mani/pedi even started (I skipped massages partly to save time, and partly as I was wary of their speeding through all their clients). I LOVE ROSS NAILS! Helen, Cindy, Henry and Lynn are awesome. So accommodating and friendly. The salon is clean and inviting. Family friendly. I see mothers and daughters, couples etc. Best of all, their work is amazing. A coworker recommended I go here almost a year ago. I've been a regular ever since. I see Helen and Henry every three to four weeks for my gel mani and pedi. The pedicure is relaxing and pampering. Helen does my preferred square tips shaped perfectly. Three weeks later I'm still getting compliments on my manicure. The only reason I have to go back is because my nail bed has grown out but the polish still looks fresh and intact. When I arrived, both employees (I think they may have been the owners) working seemed to be confused that I made an appointment. They asked me several times if I made the appointment that morning. I had made the appointment a week prior. Even though there was only one other person getting a pedi, I felt rushed. I went to have a relaxing afternoon out by myself. After soaking my feet, I was made to sit in a rolling chair while I got my nails done, while I balanced, twisting, to get my feet up on the pedi station. It was a little obnoxious. No one else came in while I was there. The young lady doing my nails seemed a little pissed to be working in general. The lady doing my nails rushed and completed the job in 5 min and the scrubby looking man with dirty hands who was working on my toes didn't push my cuticles back, nor did he remove any skin. It's like he's afraid to do nails or had zero experience. I stopped him mid pedicure and told him I was done. They still charged me $10 to basically remove my toenail polish but I would have paid $50 just to get him to stop. Now I'm off to Lavande in a Mill Valley to get a pedicure. I had a horrible experience at Ross Nail Salon. I went in for a facial wax. The woman that did it was extremely rough. She actually waxed the skin off of my face. I was very sore and raw that evening. I took pictures of the injuries. The next day, I went and showed her my face and the pictures. She denied that there was a problem. She said I was just red. Today, I woke up with scabs all over the stripped areas. It was bad enough to have this happen, but her response to my injuries was just unacceptable. My daughter and I really love this nail salon. We have tried a few others in Marin and this is truly the best! The salon is very clean and everyone working here is very friendly. We love the little extras that go along with a traditional mani/pedi, salt scrub, hot stone massage and neck and shoulder massage. Their attention to detail is top notch and we leave with perfect nails every time. The choices of nail polish are also very good, Essie, OPI and Zoya, something for everyone. This place is wonderful. I'm only 26 and I've been coming here since I was 16. The owner and workers are extremely nice and friendly and they have had the same workers since I can remember. They know what they are doing and have been in business for over 15 years. Their salon is very clean and they always maintain that cleanliness not only with the interior appearance but with their utensils as well. They have a great selection of colors and always have the latest trends in stock. Their salon is small and peaceful, usually exactly what I need to get away from the hectic work schedule and daily life. Of course appointments are great but they always take walk-ins and most of the times I go I just walk in and they make space for me and never turn me away. As her nails were drying he walked over, cut my sons nails (took no more 90 seconds), and then said "It's $15". There were obvious jagged edges, so I said to him "no offense, I could do better at home". He didn't say much so we moved on, but honestly, awful!
