the work is decent if they ever get to you. you can call ahead of time, arrive at scheduled time, and then you just sit there and wait. people who walk in AFTER you get seen before you when you've already been there for 20 minutes. water was cold for pedicure that never got started. there's only ever 3 people working, which i can understand, but if you don't have the time or staff to do two pedicures at once, just say that you're booked for the day and that's that. communicate to your customers. just so inconsiderate and a waste of my time. it's not the first time it's happened here either, disappointed again. if any one has other recommendations for nail salons in marin, please let me know! read more

I think I found my new nail shop. I have been in Marin for about 3 years now and I haven't found "the one" when it comes to mail shops until now. One Saturday afternoon I stopped by a nail stop and was told $65 for a full set them I got back in my far and just around the corner just nails let me know it would be $50. They took their time, we're sweet to talk to and did a good job on my nails. read more

Read the reviews, drive by everyday and my regular gal at my regular shop is ill so I decided to go, Very nice on the phone, got there and sat in not a very comfortable chair and the gal doing my pedicure seem to have an attitude, I just sat there than just as on other reviews mid pedicure the gal gotta up and than another one came to "finish" but she didn't after the massage, another gal comes to polish. I than go to pay, go to hand her my credit card and she asks for cash or check, another customer said "you take credit cards" and they say they don' want to pay the fee for running my credit card!!!! Goodness why accept credit cards, especially because when I called to make an appointment I asked if they take credit cards! I will not return! read more

These ladies are not only highly skilled, but also kind and pretty hilarious! I stopped in on my way through town and they accommodated me. Did a quick gel manicure - usually the soak off period is way too long - not with Lanna. She knew exactly how long to leave the foil on, then got to work. The polish lasted forever. This is my standby place and they always do a great job for both mani and pedi. And great massage...even a shoulder massage if there is time. All the staff is great...Michelle, Lea, Lana and Thuy. I've been going here for over 10 years now, and I still love it. Tri and Michelle are so great, and are always so friendly every time you come in. Even if you don't have an appointment, they always make it work. Great mani pedi's, LONG MASSAGES, and very detailed paint job. Acrylics always look natural, and Michelle does the best French manicure I've ever seen. Best place, and so reasonably priced. read more

Kudos to them for tolerating me painting every single one of my nails a different sample color, and laughing at my reactions to the massage chair. I'm usually not hard to please at all, but trying to match my bridesmaid dress was tough. I settled on a nice bronze shade that I never would've chosen otherwise, but I'm happy with it, even after the wedding. The younger guy was our collective favorite - luckily the bride had him. The rest of the ladies, and one other man were quiet but friendly, and they gave us all nice, amazingly long massages with the pedicures. Don't let them talk you into trying the "air seat" - it's like you're being goosed by someone poking their head up through the seat. It is every bit as violating as it sounds. And hilarious too, especially when you're drinking champagne. I was not a fan of my manicure, it was a little sloppy and started peeling and chipping the next day. I also kind of agree with Anne's assesment - many of the folks that were working would get up mid mani or pedi and disappear. Later, someone else would come and finish. That's odd. read more

Nope. Never again. I just paid $80 for two D- pedicures and F+ manicure. AND THATS JUST FOR THE SERVICE I PAID FOR. my two nieces got pedicures and the tech didn't even wash their feet in the foot bath! They literally filled the bath with water and didn't even scrub them or wash them or ADD any type of soap to the water, OR DIP THEM IN THE WATER. I mean... what kind of place is this?! Oh wait I stand corrected, one of my nieces feet was washed, just her left foot. My other nieces had none washed at all. I HAD TO TELL THEM TO SOAK MY MOMS FEET. When they started her "services" and she hadn't yet even soaked her feet. She had just sat down. Then they put a base polish before putting the French tip on. They're so backwards. They then started her manicure and painted two base coats before painting the French tip they massaged her right arm and hand and didn't even touch the other side. They had constant business but idk what is up, I feel like their customers don't know what a good pedicure is. I pay half the price at my local nail salon, but I'm in town for a wedding so I thought it'd be nice to get these services done here. I don't think those techs are even licensed if they don't know the process. Now for my own services, one foot was scrubbed dry, the other wet. The nail polish wasn't cleaned up around the nail and is messy on my skin. I was still nice enough to tip 10%. read more

As far pedicures go, Tri is amazing! He takes his time and is very meticulous and then there's the massage -- he spends at least 10 minutes on each foot/leg (and let me reiterate "at least"). The environment is relaxing and welcoming. Just Nails is the only place for my feet! read more

expensive yes. i moved over from the EB where you can get both a pedicure and manicure for 26.00. it is 37 here! BUT, my manicure polish stayed on and looked great for over a week! Can't beat that! Parking can be a bear. They also sterilize all their instruments., which I am finding alot of places around here do not.................. ick! Nice, friendly, funny staff. Good place! read more

After reading the reviews Just Nails received I had to try their mani and pedi offering. Unfortunately I cannot agree with the other women who posted about his place. I didn't find it clean at all and my nails look like I did them. Normally if there was a flaw in the polish or in the shape of my nails I would ask them to correct it but since the whole experience was bumming me out I just wanted it to be over. I have been going back (their luck of real estate) and it has gotten better.... it just depends. There certainly isn't any consistency and I have stopped expecting much so when I get great service I am real happy. Funny how lowering expectations make life a little rosier. I go toLana every two weeks. She is does a great job and is always on time. The salon is clean. The whole staff is courteous and the new massage chairs are fantastic! I've driven by this place a couple times and decided to check it out. The owner was very nice and friendly and so was the girl that did my nails. Unfortunately I think she was fresh out of school. I had a new set put on and it took an hour and a half. She was way to slow and her work is very sloppy. Acrylic is everywhere. I'm still picking the excess off. My nails are supposed to be smooth but they are lumpy from the bad polish job. They are nice but the quality is bad for what they charged. Definitely not worth $35! read more

Love this place. Best place in Marin to get a man/pedi, hands down. (no pun intended!). They actually STERILIZE their instruments right in front of you...how often do you find that? I've been coming here for over 15 years and in the past they have been fairly good. In the last 2 years, they are taking over 2 hours for a shellac manicure and pedicure. This is mostly due to the fact that they won't ever turn away a walk in- and as a result will leave you in the middle of your service for which you had an appointment to tend to another customer. If they are not busy you can enjoy a wonderful massage but if they are busy they will eliminate it all together. I communicated this to Le and Michelle but nothing changed- so I have move to another salon that I like very much. My new salon does a GREAT job and I'm in and out in 60 minutes. read more

BAD: 1: placed and set wring color of shellac manicure even though I expressed it was the wrong one 2: instead of using acetone-based polish remover, the lady helping me file down the color (whenever I said I could feel the heat, she said she was almost done) 3: Poor shellac manicure and nails were so thin they started to break right away and had to be cut down to the finger tip. 4: four weeks later, when I went to have the shellac removed, I was told there is a charge unless I have the manicure done again (most places do not charge whennthey have been the knes placing the polish). I expressed that my nails are not recovered yet, but I would have the manicure next week, but they could care less. 5: There was never an apology or acknowledgement about their mess up. Overall I feel they are short-term money oriented and offer very poor costumer service. read more
