It's conveniently located inside a shopping center with lots of parking available, which made our visit even easier. Ambiance: We absolutely loved the ambiance! I wasn't really sure what I felt like eating . I had previously visited another one that's only about 10min away a few months ago. When I walked in, I got a friendly greeting, and it was pretty quiet until I left; then it started to get busy and rainy. So, I ended up ordering three things: a rosca de Reyes, a.little.co cha mazapan I believe and a stuffed croissant like along with some stuffed. I also got some Abuelita hot latte very good and a chorizo and potato empanada, which was really good overall. The customer service was fantastic; they even refilled my water bottle for me. I am extremely disappointed with the treatment my group received at Mariachi Bakery in Downey. I work with adults with intellectual disabilities, and during our visit, some of my participants needed to use the restroom. An employee, who I believe was named Marissa, was very rude and told them they could not use the restroom unless they purchased something. I explained that we were all paying customers, but she continued to respond with an attitude. What made the situation even more upsetting was that my participants were treated without the respect and dignity they deserve. We have receipts to prove that everyone in our group made a purchase, so there was no reason for them to be denied access or spoken to in that manner. I do want to acknowledge Juliete, who was kind, respectful, and helpful throughout the situation. Her professionalism was appreciated and made a difficult experience a little better. Unfortunately, because of how we were treated, we will not be returning. All customers deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect, especially individuals with disabilities who are simply trying to enjoy an outing in the community. read more

I got a cold brew with sugar-free vanilla syrup. I'm glad that they offer sugar-free options The cold brew itself itself was Very strong. it reminded me of the flavor profile of Vietnamese coffee. I didn't taste any of the vanilla so I asked the employee for more. he was about to ring me up after I've already paid for an extra pump since they priced by pump, but I guess he decided not to and just gave it to me, which was nice My friend ordered an Horchata an iced latte. He also got a vanilla concha. He liked both items but didn't seem blown away. I like the theme of the music, specifically mariachi music, but I didn't feel like it had enough decorations to properly encapsulate the theme music playing, and I really like the decorations they did have . i would love to see more! there wasn't a ton of seating but there was some. I saw an instagram video about this coffee shop and I knew I had to come check it out. The whole menu seems appealing but I ended up deciding on the buñelo latte and I also ordered a cheese and jalapeño croissant. They were both delicious. One of my go to coffee shops. I love coming here and trying their new seasonal drinks. I recently was here and had the chance to try the Ice Buñuelo Latte with a Churro croissant. Both were super delicious. The croissant was so fluffy and warm. I was pleasantly surprised and will be coming back for more pastries before the season is over. When I stopped by there were multiple people talking and just hanging out but they provide plenty of seating so there is always room to sit. I had the chance to finally try Mariachi Bakery here in Downey for the first time a in early December. I had high hopes for it because of their strong following and presence on IG. However, nothing truly wowed me other than the delicious pumpkin spice loaf bread I tried. I had a dulce de leche latte and didn't think there was anything special about it, it tasted just like the caramel macchiato from Starbucks which is nothing special. I also tried their cheese croissant and a couple of their mini conchas. The croissant was ok but the mini concha's were awful. Not sure if I just went on a bad day or if they always taste like that but they were no bueno. They were hard and kind of flavorless. I wouldn't get those again. However I would definitely come back for more of their delicious pumpkin spice loaf which was amazing! I am willing to give it another try to see if perhaps a different coffee is better but for now based on this experience, I can only give it 3 stars at best. read more

First things first, bring a sweater lol it was cold in there. This bakery is a blend of traditional and modern, which was refreshing to experience through some of the items on the menu. I ordered 2 empanadas: tinga de pollo and birria. The outside of the empanada was soft and flaky which I enjoyed. The tinga was very savory and went well with the salsa and pickled onion. The salsa is spicy so just beware! My husband ordered the chorizo con papa burrito. It wasn't bad but for the size of the burrito to the price, I don't think it was justified. It was really skinny and lacked more ingredients. We also ordered drinks, I got the iced cafe de olla with sweet cream and my husband got the strawberry horchata. The iced cafe de olla was not bad but it was missing more cinnamon that you taste traditionally. I still enjoyed it but I will try it hot next time! The strawberry horchata was thick but it was really good. If they ever made a strawberry horchata matcha, I would buy it. Also, for the empanada de birria, I wished they offered consomé.
