Delices du Chef at Torrance Farmer's Market

Veronique and her husband offer authentic french cuisine at the Torrance Farmer's Market every Tuesday and Saturday. So far I've tried their pastries, soups, salads, tarts, quiche, crepe. They may seem pricey but you're paying for quality. My husband and I love their: croissant, pain au chocolat, feuillete epinard, quiche brie champignon and always have some in our freezer; these are delicious reheated in a 350 degree oven. The boeuf bourguignon is nicely seasoned and perfect with baguette and butter from Normandy. I enjoy baking and cooking and know my limits. I truly appreciate the food prepared by Delices du Chef and look forward to their cafe opening soon in Torrance. Merci beaucoup et bonne chance!

A collection of lots of delicious pastries and French breads..

I had a high hope for their baguette, but their baguette was just average.. I guess my search for the best baguette in LA continues..

Their food and pastry are the best to find outside of France...love their vegetable tartine, it's full of aroma from assorted vegetables...

Venue: beautiful, clean, and spacious with plenty of seating for families and friends to gather comfortably. It's conveniently located inside a shopping center with lots of parking available, which made our visit even easier. Ambiance: We absolutely loved the ambiance! The mariachi music playing in the background truly brought the whole experience together and perfectly represented the spirit and name of the location. Food: everything was fresh, delicious, and perfectly balanced in flavor without being overly sweet. We ordered the chocolate croissant, Abuelita's rosca, elote fino, and a fried pulled pork empanada with green sauce. Every item was flavorful and satisfying. The café de olla was warm, comforting, and just the right amount of sweet. Overall, my family and I had a wonderful experience and truly enjoyed our visit. We will definitely be returning for more pan dulce, delicious food, and maybe even try one of the cold brews next time. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for great Mexican bread and pastries, this is definitely the place. However, on Mother's Day (May 10th), I decided to try their menudo for the first time and purchased 3 orders. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The menudo was extremely bland and seemed to be missing basic seasoning like salt and oregano. Normally, bland food can be fixed at home with a few spices, but the bigger issue was the large amount of grasa (grease/fat) in the caldo. The grease was very dense and excessive. I tried removing as much as possible, but there was still too much. In fact, I had to serve my mother the menudo without the broth because of how greasy it was. My recommendation: stick to the bread -- it's great. As for the menudo, maybe this was just a one-off experience, so others may want to give it a try for themselves. I personally hope they improve the recipe because it's difficult finding a good Sunday morning menudo spot in the Downey area.

I've ordered up to three dozen tamales at a time and never had an issue. The staff is polite, they greet you when you pay, and that's all I need no need to chat about their weekend or personal life. I'm there for the bread and tamales, and both are consistently fresh and delicious. This is definitely a regular stop for me! Rated by a TEAMSTER

I had been to the one in Laguna Niguel and this one in Little Tokyo is more spacious, with an area where you can eat. I bought an oyako pork shumai, curry pan and spicy curry pan. The shumai was like dumpling filling in a bun. My faves were the curry pan, which were super flavorful and vegetarian. The spicy curry one does have a kick (great for my husband), while I prefer the regular curry as I can't handle spice. Wish I had one closer to me!

It's like a fancy filet o fish without the soggy bun, packed with amazing fried fish and tarter sauce. I'm just disappointed when they don't have this in stock, but sometimes they would make more, and that'll just be an extra wait. Downside is that I first tried the fish panini years ago and it was a bit better then, but it's still good currently. Other pastries I've tried here have been pretty good. They had some various buns with mochi inside, and those were great. Another one of my fave is their mentaiko salt bun. Great flavor, though I wish they would stuff the thing with more mentaiko. Their curry breads are good too. I took my daughter here and she got one with cute emoji drawn on, and she said the custard filling and the bread was tasty as well. I've tried some drinks here and they were alright. A friend was into their banana matcha when they have that in stock. Pretty simple layout here. Get in line and see the goods, then you reach the cashier and order and pay.
