I came in for a customized Chivas themed birthday cake. Inside there were not many people yet, but it all looked tidy and clean. The staff was very attentive and friendly. After requesting to place an order for a cake I would need the next day the staff was more than happy to accept my order. Originally, I would have liked to order a carrot cake but those cakes need to be ordered at least a week in advance so that was very much my fault. I ended up going with a classic tres leches cake which tasted wonderful. Miriam was the one to help me out. Bonus points for having the same name ;) Miriam made great detailed questions to make sure the cake was exactly what I wanted it to be referencing off a picture I had showed her as inspiration. From size all the way down to the smallest details, Miriam disclosed information about how certain designs or details I wanted would change the presentation of the cake, and made sure I was delightlfuly satisfied with what would be the result. She broke down every last detail including how the icing would likely stain our mouths and very nicely reassured me that it would rise right off with water swishes. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a completely different experience and honestly left a bad taste in my mouth. I stopped by one morning because I was craving a ham and cheese croissant. Yelp showed this bakery in my search results, so I decided to swing by. When I got there, they didn't have any croissants -- just cakes, cookies, and a few sweet pastries. That was fine, but what really turned me off was the service. There were a few people waiting for cake pre-orders. One of the cash registers didn't have a line, so I stood there for a bit, but no one acknowledged me. I eventually moved to the other line and waited my turn. When I got to the front, the cashier asked if I had a pre-order. I said no, I just wanted to grab a few cookies. Instead of helping me, she told me to hold on and went straight to the person behind me to ask if they had a pre-order -- and then asked, in a rude tone, "Who was here first?" as if I had cut the line. Thankfully, the person behind me spoke up and said I was there first. I bought a few custard cream puffs and sugar elephant cookies, but sadly, they weren't worth it. Where do I start off by saying that this bakery has been my go to ever since I met my mother-in-law she put me on it is local to us and the staff is always very friendly and there is multiple options and if you need something to grab and go they always have a couple cakes that are ready and they just add a birthday topper for you if you need it or whatever the occasion may be for you. I've tried multiple of their cake flavors and I love them all. They're never dry and their frosting isn't too sweet which lets you enjoy the cake. Within the flavors, I've tried has been red velvet chocolate three milks, Choco flan, simple vanilla. And they have plenty of other treats that you can also buy like some yummy cannoli or macaroons. They also do custom cakes and personally I have never ordered a custom one, but my mother-in-law has and they always have them at the time she arranged to pick them up and they always do a great job. Came in to order a cake 2 weeks ago for my kids bday party last Sunday morning. Clean spot walked in only 1 customer, also ordering a cake. Then it was my turn, although the young lady wasn't rude, she was just very short and annoyed about our questions for the design. She pulled out a book for pricing and she got upset when I asked about the cost being higher than what the book said. She got very upset (again not rude with her words) but with her tone of voice and demeanor just changing with the eyes rolling. Sorry we saw a different price on YOUR OWN BOOK. She explained it and made sense but it was her attitude that didn't help. Almost anything we suggested for the cake wasn't available or they couldn't do. Keep in mind it was a sports football theme party. She asked what time we would like to pick it up and said they opened at 10am so we said 10-10:30 she then said the earliest she had was 11. So why even ask? Just tell us. Said they couldn't have it ready Saturday night for us. Just overall a negative experience. I don't expect the red carpet but basic service would be nice. No big deal here just yet.... Until Sunday when it was time to pick up the cake, they have our pick up person the hardest time ever. Kept asking him for dimensions and design after he gave them our name and number for pick up. He couldn't get a hold of us because we were at the kids bday party and we couldn't answer the phones. Just ruined our cake experience and wasted extra time. So they got recommended to try this place for their cakes. Although the cake tasted good, the design wasn't of my taste. They couldn't make a normal pretty basic football field design. The value is not worth the hassle or taste. Definitely don't recommend It based just on my experience. We all have off days, maybe it wasn't their day when I ordered or when we tried picking up. Again cake tasted good, it was the service and just overall Bad experience on pick up day. delaying our bday cake cutting for our kids, We were on a time limit at the venue we were at. Was craving something sweet while shopping at the market next door and decided to give this place a try. At the time that I walked in they only had a limited assortment of pastries left. None of them really caught my attention except for some macarons which were a little too sweet, overpriced and a limited selection. I wish they offered slices of cake in case we want to sample them. Service is a little slow they had a long line with people waiting to grab a number so that they can be called on. Almost like at a meat market when you have to grab a ticket so they know who got there first. The ambiance is blehh, no where to sit and enjoy your pastry is a little small inside, and nothing too special. The ganache cream is not too sweet and goes so well with the cake. Cookies & Cream cake - is very similar to the chocolate ganache, except the cream is different. Again, this is a solid choice for any chocolate lover. Napoleon cake - Wow!! The top layer is the flaky layers and the bottom is a vanilla sponge cake. There is also fruit on top.
