I reached out last minute hoping to order two dozen mini cupcakes for the ICU staff caring for a close friend's mother. Not only did Krista accommodate the order on such short notice, she personally handwrote my note and had everything ready for pickup right when the shop opened the next morning. The cupcakes looked absolutely delicious, and more importantly, the ICU staff genuinely appreciated the gesture. It meant so much to be able to support my friend and her family from afar, and Krista made that possible with such care and thoughtfulness. During a very difficult time, she provided a small but meaningful way to say thank you to the people providing essential care. That kind of service is rare. Also, I have my eye on the zucchini gluten-free cupcakes, which look incredible and have rave reviews--so I will definitely be back to try more. Thank you again, Krista. Truly above and beyond.

The zucchini must make them naturally moist and they stay moist for days--if they aren't eaten on the first day we buy them. My family has enjoyed cupcakes from Sugar from the Heart for 10+ years. They've stayed consistently delicious and the quality has never wavered. My oldest daughter is my peanut butter lover so her go to birthday treat used to be their chocolate peanut butter cupcakes and even though she still loves them the zucchini cupcakes have surpassed them. I think the zucchini cupcakes have a brown butter frosting that is this cupcake's perfect partner. It really seems to be a family run business. There are two young men who might be one of the owner's sons and they are both friendly and kind. Like their mother. Multiple cupcake and other types of cake places have cropped up in the vicinity over the years but my heartfelt opinion is that Sugar from the Heart is still the best.

This was the only thing that prevented me from trying it since I probably shouldn't eat a dozen. :X LOL. There's only 2 people in our house, myself and my fiance (our dog Bacon does not count!). So I reached out to Emily via Facebook since she had a dozen of her March Cupcake Craving and asked for half. I appreciate that she did. $20 for a dozen (or $10 for 6, in my case) is really good, but I think that's the promotional price. Anywho... on to the cakes! Our mix included: Chocolate Chip Mint - Okay, if you like mint. He doesn't. Chocolate Malted Crunch - Pretty good. Irish Kissin' - Just OK for us. I think it's mainly because we really liked the last one. Vanilla Cookie Dough - OMG. NOM. We both really loved this one. Overall, we'd consider their cupcakes for our wedding. But I'd probably want to try a few other flavors (something fruity, salted caramel, s'mores, maple bacon, etc) before we decide. I sent her inspo photos of our pastel Disney theme... and she did not disappoint! The cake was absolutely beautiful, almost identical to the inspo photo, and "not too sweet" [which in Asian culture, is high praise]. When signing up, you have to choose a location and the downey location is the closest to me, which is where I can only redeem the reward. When entering, it was empty and 2 young girls were working but I was not welcomed in or greeted. I told them I was here to redeem the reward and they then asked what flavor I wanted. I took a moment to look in their display cabinet to see which flavors they had left (there were only 3 visible flavors inside the cabinet) but then I was told all the flavors were available... I think it would be helpful to atleast have 1 bundlet cake displayed next to each flavor so customers can visually see which one they want not just read the cake flavors. I chose the chocolate- chocolate chip flavor and it was good. The cake itself was fluffy & moist while the frosting has a light creamy balance to the cake.
