I really wanted to lie this place but the flan and cake turned out really to be bland and forgettable. The only plus is that it's affordable. The owners are nice but can be tough with communication with language barriers. However patient will get everyone on the same page. It's in a small plaza and parking can be limited. They place is small and quaint. Nothing fancy. Hopefully their baked goods are better.

Bought my mom's cake here for her birthday in December and was reminded how good of a cake it was. I believe this is a Chinese bakery and they make breads and pastries that are just as good. The cake I got had strawberries, peaches and light whipped topping, would definitely come back again and order the mango one. If I'm Not mistaken I paid cash for my order. Try their breads and cookies you won't be disappointed.

Great little bakery we almost didn't discover! It's located among a somewhat deteriorated strip of stores with a parking lot. We were going to eat at a restaurant a few doors down, but they weren't open yet so we decided to check out the bakery. At first I was unsure if it was even open for business, but hubby said it was open. Upon entering, I saw a few cakes and other baked goods. There weren't a lot of options, but what they had was well stocked. This is a no frills sort of place. No real decor and no seating inside. The lady who helped us was friendly. TIP: CASH ONLY!! A guy brought out some fresh bread and we asked what kind it was. He told us it was Raisin Coconut. It seemed unusual to us, but sounded good, so we bought a loaf. Since it was still warm, it couldn't be sliced yet. This bread is so very good! We also bought a Croissant Bread Loaf and the lady asked if we wanted it sliced. We had it sliced. They have a pretty old looking machine that does it. I've had a couple slices with eggs for breakfast and it is perfect! We also got a slice of bread with dried fruit. This was my least favorite thing. It was a little dry. We put our goodies in the car and we could smell the breads! What a delightful aroma! If we're nearby again in the future, we'll definitely support this small business and buy more bread! Maybe we'll try one of their tempting cakes, too!

Strictly CASH only. Ordered a custom full sheet cake with mango filling and fruit topping. Quick service. Picking up for next week - NO DELIVERY service. Quiet inside and even quieter persons at the register. Lots of parking in the lot. Recommend Tres Leches cake, available individually packaged. Also cream puff and cheesecake that looks more like a cupcake style.

Ordered their 1/2 sheet mango fruit cake. It was a classic Chinese white cake that I used to order for my kids growing up. It was for my Uncle's 95th birthday party and they did a great job. He requested this type of cake and I was trying to avoid driving into LA before the party so was so happy to have remembered Honey Bakery. They did a great job, cake was fresh and done on time. Got many great comments from the family. The half sheet would have fed 50 comfortably. We had 30 people and even with huge slices we had more than a half cake left. I'll add a picture when I get one from the family.

Brandon's Cake: Tbh the middle (coffee??) and top (ganache??) were brick solid but it tasted amazing.

Great customer service. As regular who comes for the fruit cakes for birthdays never fails. I noticed their cakes tends to not be sweet which I think is intentional fyi which goes for the Brandon Cakes as well.

We enjoy coming here to get a few sweets after eating at the nearby restaurant! They have some standard bakery goods as well as things I've never seen before. It's currently Chinese New Year time & they have some dainty little things like a chestnut cake about the size of golf ball that looks like a chestnut, and a taro paste cake about the same size in the shape of some Chinese characters. The cream puff has a stiff custardy cream and good pastry. Cash only, take-away only.

Custom made cake from Honey Bakery.

On numerous occasions, I've picked up ready made cakes from Honey Bakery. This time, I wanted to order a custom made cake. I arrived at Honey Bakery with a concept of a cake. I did not have a physical picture. I spent an hour and half with the bakery explaining what I wanted. The older gentleman was patient and jotted all the details of the cake. He was very meticulous and made sure that the instructions were clear on the order. I was pleasantly surprised that the cake was exactly how I've envisioned it. It was an added bonus that they have a delivery service. Besides being beautiful, the mango cake was absolutely delicious!

Always so fresh and tastes delicious.

Never disappoints this bakery has been my go to for many years. Always starts with their great service, I get a hello with a smile. Their location is a small waiting area but their service is fast I never worry about being crowded up. And their cakes along with side deserts always come out fresh tasting. Every thing I have picked up has been delicious and beautiful.

Best cakes for over 30 years! I love their fruit tarts and mocha cake. Just when I thought Hb couldn't get better .... Oops! They did it again! Check out this beautiful pastry with a chocolate hidden inside it! Perfect treat for Spring Break celebrations! My whole family has been purchasing cakes and delicious treats at Hb and highly recommend to pastry fans for any occasion!

I was sold their old cake, mango filling inside was not edible

Ask the Community - Honey Bakery

How do you get a quote for wedding cake?

How is the Strawberry cake? If it's good and you've had a cake from Phoenix Bakery, Inc. (Los Angeles-Chinatown) how does it stack up against it? Thanks

Long ago went to Phoenix but Honey 's Strawberry cake excellent. Favorite birthday cake

    Do they sell egg tarts?

There are a FEW pastries in the case but they mainly sell the most amazing strawberry shortcakes!

Do they sell whole chocolate cake, and if so, is it good?

Just two kinds of cake: strawberry and mango

How much are the strawberry cakes?

    ~$30 cash only

Can you order beforehand ? Or do you just buy whatever they have available?

I called because I was concerned and they said they usually have cakes available throughout the day. You should probably call if you're planning on going later in the day. I went around 3pm Saturday and there was plenty.

Does this bakery have buns/Hong Kong style buns? Like Cha Siu Bao, etc.

    No.

Do they have different size cakes and flavors ready to buy?

Yes, they have a wide variety.

Do they do kids cake? Like cartoon characters on the cake but still their cake mix?

Yes, they have catalog of cakes & sizes.

I can't have them from anywhere else because these hit the spot so hard that no one can compete. I personally have not tried anything else, but my kids have enjoyed other treats from this place. They are located in Cerritos at a very busy shopping plaza and there's plenty of parking. I didn't expect the bakery to be an actual restaurant. There was a good crowd, sitting at tables and eating and drinking. They have about a dozen different flavors of macaroons. You can't go wrong with any of them, but my top favorite are the Birthday, Fruity Pebble, Horchata, Cappuccino and Ferrero Rocher. They make nice gifts too, as they can put it in a treat box in an ice brown paper bag. I definitely need to come back and try their drinks and something else from their menu.

They charge an extra dollar to substitute oat milk, so I kept the regular milk. My son got the cappuccino cake, and I chose the ricotta pistachio cake. The pistachio cake was a little dry -- not terrible, but noticeable. However, my hot salted caramel latte was actually very good and paired really well with the dessert. The music and atmosphere were nice, and there were only a few patrons inside, which made it feel relaxed. However, there were a couple of dirty plates left sitting on tables while one employee seemed more focused on organizing napkins instead of clearing them. I also wasn't too sure how fresh the cakes were since they had been sitting in the display. Whether I come back really depends on the flavor and quality of the food and drinks next time around.

Hello, I noticed a…read morerecent review by a woman named Corrine M. listing a 1 star review following her visit to the Cerritos location. I was also there during that day wanted to say that it wasn't at all how the situation unfolded; to clarify it was definitely busy and the 2 boys at the bar station were getting absolutely swamped by orders. It was understandable that they were behind and could not keep track of every drink being made. The lady, Corrine, however made a very big scene when she noticed that her drink was definitely missing. The boy in the colored shirt whom I assume is the manager apologized for the inconvenience and went to make the replacement drink right away. While he did this the lady started to use profane language and did in fact grab the tote bag to toss. The manager did politely ask that she not throw the bag as it is still merchandise. He promptly offered them a refund for their transaction and an apology for the inconvenience. Im obviously very nosy so I listened in on the entire thing. She WAS NOT accused of stealing but I do however think it was an overreaction. I hope this helps and for the record the 2 boys on the bar area handled their rush like 2 champions.

Service: 3.5 stars Brown Sugar Oat Latte: 3.5 stars…read moreBrioche: 2 stars (dry) In the span of 1-week, I happened to stop by 2 separate 85°C Bakery Cafe locations (Tustin, Cerritos). It has been so long since I've been to this plaza for Gen, that 85°C Bakery Cafe was not even open yet! We were down the street at Canaan and we wanted to grab coffee (and bread). We saw the Brioche tray "fresh" from the kitchen so we decided to grab one. Even though this Brioche was "fresher" than the ones from the Tustin location, this one was dryer. The Tustin location was pretty bare bones in their bread offerings, barely any bread for customers to purchase as compared to this location where each tray was full. The lines to the counter were also very long. When another customer (with their family) came in, they were like "What, is coffee free?" I joked with them as well since it seemed like it, with the amount of customers lined up everywhere. Good thing I placed a kiosk order for my coffee first so that was ready before I even reached the counter, helped me save time. Kiosk Order: Brown Sugar Oat Latte (Medium, Hot) $5.75 Counter: Brioche $2.85 As I mentioned in my review for the Tustin location, I am very disappointed that 85°C makes their customers purchase bag(s) and box(es) for their bread and cakes. One can bring their own bags but if one was purchasing an entire box of bread to treat others, one does have to purchase a box, for presentation. This is not a supermarket. This is not to help the environment, this is greed, plain and simple. Bag(s) $0.10 Box(es) $0.15 I do love that their coffee was extremely hot - it was still hot by the time I arrived home around 35 minutes later. I dislike lukewarm coffee, especially lattes. For flavored lattes, I normally order them half sweet, but I forgot to check if I could do that through the kiosk. The Brown Sugar was a bit too sweet for me, but it was not overpowering and the Oat Milk was a nice balance. For the price and the size of the cup, it was most certainly reasonably priced. This location has many tables for customers to enjoy their drinks and goods. This location is one of the busiest I have been to in awhile, and I used to line up for over an hour when the Irvine location first opened up. Parking can be a hit or miss, but we were lucky to find a spot right in front of the entrance.
