We worked with Jay throughout the whole process and he was a pleasure to work with! My husband and I were recommended this bakery by our friends who purchased their wedding cake and birthday cakes from here within the last couple years. Through our friends, we've tried the mango mousse and chocolate cake and we knew we had to get our wedding cake from here, too. We first had a cake tasting as I wanted to try some of their specialty flavored cakes that is not offered at most bakeries. I've always loved Indian desserts and the fact that they had Indian desserts flavored cake was so exciting for me! When my husband and I were deciding which flavors to try for the cake tasting, he was very skeptical on trying the Indian cake flavors I wanted to try and boy, oh boy, was I in for a big surprise! From the items I've tried, my absolute favorites, in order of preference, are the bhel puri, aloo chili puff, samosa chaat, and chikoo shake. The chikoo shake is sweet and delicious, not thick/dense, but sadly comes in a small cup (12 oz?) for the price. I also enjoyed the other items like vada pav, pav bhaji, aloo papdi chaat, and lassi. The paneer tikka puff, egg puff, black forest cake, and combo roll were okay. Service is great. My order usually comes out within 10 minutes. I always order to-go, and I appreciate them putting the chutneys and sev for my chaat in small containers. I'm not familiar with most of the menu items, and the staff is always patient in explaining the menu and sharing their recommendations. If I recall correctly, the kitchen closes at 8:30 pm. If you're hoping to get anything besides the savory puffs or cakes, definitely aim to get here before then. There are only 3 tables inside, but I've never really seen people dining in when I go in the evening. We were looking for a gender reveal cake and we didn't want to drive too far. I came across The Cake Korner on Yelp and saw all the beautiful custom cakes they've designed & baked. We decided to give them a try. We went to the bakery after our doctor's appointment with an envelope of our baby's gender. We told them what we wanted and gave them the "top secret" envelope. The lady that worked there was so nice; she wrote down our order & offered advice. I emailed them the photo of the cake design I wanted. The price kind of shocked me, but I guess it's a custom order so it's to be expected. We picked up the cake 3 days later and it exceeded our expectations! It was beautiful! They even gave us back the envelope too. The next day we had our small little gender reveal. When my husband cut into the cake & pulled out a slice, the layers were simply gorgeous!! They packed the cake in a box... even though we complained that it might fall can you pack it properly- they said no. The cake did fall. The food is good but the service is appalling and prices are a scam. I've been coming to this store for ages, every single birthday event for my family of 8, weekly outings for the dahi batata puri. I got two cakes, one in October and one in January. Both were requested with fruit on top, and both were charged $38. Both were for strawberry icing and vanilla breading inside. Can you tell the difference between the two? I didn't even expect the second pink cake to be full of fruit but when I said it's not worth the $10 extra (their regular price is $28), they said they charge for labor not fruit. Labor for cutting?? And putting on the cake?? The staff response was that there was a mistake the first time around and I should be happy with that mistake rather than complain about this one. It was honestly disheartening to get that response and get a cake like this for $38, not worth it. Honestly would not have cared and still come back if the response was better. Never coming back after this one. You can see the images with timestamps and the cakes. Baffled that the same price gave these types of cakes and it was my fault for assuming the first cake was not a mistake. Edit: cake pick up time was set at 3, I went at 4, and it still wasn't there. I discussed the design to be a pastel color like the picture and instead of blue in the inspo picture I showed I instead asked for a pastel purple. You can see the blue through the purple.
