A must any time I'm in the area. This unassuming bakery in a Stater Bros shopping strip is an absolute gem!! There is a walk up counter that you bring all your goods up to and pay for them. They have refrigerators for sweet and savory items. They also sell hot foods they keep under a heat lamp. Their baked goods are just wow! I love their ensaymadas but be warned that they sell out. Their pan de sal is fresh and airy! Their various kakanins are so delicious. I've had their egg tarts, sansrivals, pastillas, candy balls, copies, etc. All are SO good!! Most recently, I went and bought their kekiam to bring to a party and it was so delicious! Run over to Luisa and Son!! You won't regret it!! read more

local well known filipino bakery with many ready made options. You can also call to pre order larger items like cakes, lumpia, etc. Good for picking up some quick items. My only complaints is that there's no dedicated cashier for pick up orders, you have to wait in line and some of these customers like to chit chat with the cashier when there's an obvious line. read more

As a kind gesture and thanking my clients for their continued business partnerships, I come here many times because the pastries are sooo delicious, fresh, tasty, and did I say delicious . This is really good "go to" where I enjoy the freshly made & delicious Plantains, empanadas and other pastry goodies to treat myself and my clients. Very clean, great choices of Filipino pastry and bakery items... a definite referral spot and a must try, trust me!! read more

They have everything snack you could ever want here from empanadas, egg pies, mamons, yema, etc. Some of their stuff are made daily like their empanadas and some stuff made only on weekends. Get here early for best selection! Better than Red Ribbon and Goldilocks snacks. read more

Luisa & Son Bake Shop - Halo halo - Bakeries Near Me - Norwalk, California

I found this bakery few years ago but just visited 4X since their location is far. Carson is the closest but they don't have much selections, compare to Artesia. My favorites are ube cheese bar, cheese/mocha cupcake and brownies. Their taste brings back memories from childhood. Plenty of parking in Carson as well as in Artesia. I just hope they have branch close to The valley area. read more

This is a Filipino bake shop where you can find food assortments such as: Pastries - ensaymada, pandesal, hopia (they are generous with the filing and it's really good) Desserts - ube, turon, leche flan, yema cake (my favorite), different kakanin/rice cake Frozen goods - embutido, relyenong bangus, etc The store is small but well kept and clean. It is located at the same plaza as Stater Bros. read more

I air fried it when I got home and it was sooo good, I may crave this from now on. I also grabbed a small ube cake for my friend and she told me it was a delight! The place is clean and feels bigger than the other one I went to. The workers are so friendly and I don't feel rushed. The line did get long, luckily, behind us. Even the other customers are so nice lol Definitely coming back on purpose! Thank you for all the yummy fill my tummy goodies. read more

Luisa & Son Bake Shop - Ube Macapuno espasol - Bakeries Near Me - Norwalk, California

Been coming here for years. Everything they sell is tasty. I usually leave with 2 bags full of breads and desserts. Pork asado siopao, cheese enseymada, pandesal and turon are few of my favorites. The rest is whatever I crave for. I prefer their turon. It comes in 2 sizes and with more banana and jackfruit. The staff is always friendly. There's always parking available and the place is always clean. read more

Great food! Needs improvement with regards to customer service, but not that bad at all. Will definitely recommend. read more

Tried placing a phone order. Someone answered the call but no one was speaking. I could hear them on the other line and I could even hear myself saying hello. Does this business not want phone orders? If so, then they should be ready with what customers order, esp if it's a big order, when we walk in. read more

Luisa & Son Bake Shop - Bakeries Near Me - Norwalk, California

The Ensaimada's are so good from this Luisa and Sons Bake Shop! I've been to the Luisa and Sons in Artesia and wasn't a huge fan, but this Norwalk one is great! The Turons are huge, but they're not my favorite. I like the ones from Pampanga's better. The Turons from Luisa are dry and hard on the inside. It's not as crispy either. They have plenty of other goodies here at Luisa, but I think they really shine with their Ensaimada. They have so many Ensaimada flavors, and the most unique being the Salted Egg Ensaimada. I learned about this flavor from a fellow Yelper, Gerry T. - thanks! I LOVED this flavor! If you like salted egg and regular Ensaimada already, you'll like this combination. I like that their Ensaimada is not too sweet and that they mix in some shredded cheese inside. It's perfect to fridge or freeze and microwave to bring it back to its fluffy state to enjoy anytime! The ladies who work here are nice and friendly. The only downside is long wait times to pay. The line wasn't necessarily long the Thursday I came, but it took a very long time for them to ring people up. There were four people ahead of me who didn't have any complicated orders, and it took over 20 minutes! read more

Just the number of times I've been here and the amount of money we've spent up in here, I have to bump this review up to 5 stars. I think I came in four (4) days out of a seven (7) day vacation, I may need an intervention to protect me from Luisa and Sons!! Here's what I notice that I keep coming back for: 1) Ube and macapuno (young coconut) ensaymada. I really like this buttery Ube and coconut combo. 2) the Ube ensaymada. Not as good as the combo but it's also very good. 3) pork asado show pow. The white bun is very fluffy and the stuffing is a good amount so the ratio is correct. They even give you a small container of sauce to go with it. 4) the pork and chicken empanadas. This version is for snacking, they're smaller but equally tasty. 5) the salted egg ensaymada, it's a new comer but I really enjoy this salty and sweet sensation. Once again, the amount of salted egg is appropriate. Thank you to my Cali peeps who ship this to me when I run out. Although I don't have to fight off porch pirates, the squirrels love Ube ensaymadas, so I have to bring that box into the house asap. read more

Our go to Filipino bakeshop when we're in LA area. Lots of assorted Filipino bread/bake delicacies and that's so good that keeps you coming back. We prefer this Norwalk branch since it has more options than the Artesia branch. They run out of Salted Egg Ensaymada which I was excited since I haven't tried it but it's okay since there were still abundant choices that I can't resist. Customer service was excellent. Strongly recommended for your Filipino bakeshop cravings. read more

I had bought cassava suman 3x here on our Cali trip. bec it was good but then on the 3rd time, the suman was lumpy, sticky moist and does not taste good! But it fairness, their halo halo is the best!! This is the only place I get satisfied with the halo halo. Too bad, it changes my outlook with this store. read more

I know that most of you may disagree. This rating has nothing to do with the baked goods ! I'm urging everyone of you shoppers at Luisa and Son to thoroughly check your receipt . It was once , twice but three times that my receipt reflected an item more here and there that I didn't get . Check your receipt !!!! I'm not saying that it's intentional but nevertheless , check your receipt !!!! read more

What we got: Taro chips, turon (spring roll kinda dessert - sweet plantain inside), vegetable roll, couple of Filipino crackers, Tamarind, bread, bread and more bread. Rude Staff! I picked up Fresh Lumpia and the sauce accidentally fell on the floor, spilled half of it.
