Update: They're no longer affiliated with Fivestars! I've since gone two additional times to try their waffle bites. My last trip was kind of spontaneous because I suddenly got a Fivestars reward that day for these waffle bites. However, when I arrived, I was looking for the Fivestars tablet only to be met by a Clover tablet instead. It felt like I went through a time warp because the employee working behind the register didn't seem to have any idea what I was trying to say regarding Fivestars, though he did notice a little trifold card on the front counter mentioning Fivestars. I asked if he could get his manager so I could explain, and even show, him my Fivestars reward. The reward said "already accepted", which he almost thought meant I had redeemed it already, but if that were the case, then it would have said "already redeemed". Given that they've now done away with Fivestars, I'm not too surprised he may have gotten the words "accepted" confused with "redeemed", but luckily, he was happy enough to honor it for me. The employee who assisted me was very helpful, though he did ask me to repeat the topping and the drizzle that I wanted. I chose the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor ice cream with Fruity Pebbles toppings and a Strawberry drizzle on top. Since I had already tried the cookie flavors before, I figured I'd try the fruity flavors this time around. He said he needed about 5 minutes to prepare my waffle bites, which were presented a little different than last time. Last time, I got the Cookie Butter flavor with *Cookie* Crisp and Peanut *Butter* (see what I did there?), and it came in a small plastic takeout container. This one came in a large plastic cup, and I'm thinking the logistics may have changed a ton between my last two visits. I did appreciate how the employee asked if I wanted the waffles on top of or beneath the ice cream before making the waffle bites; I chose on top. He also asked if I'd like powdered sugar on top, to which I agreed. Unfortunately, neither of the waffle bites I got from my last two visits impressed me that much. As a matter of fact, the only thing that impressed me was the strawberry drizzle. Everything else fell kind of flat. While generous in size for the $8 price tag, the Cookie Butter and the Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream didn't really taste like these flavors at all! For whatever reason, the peanut butter didn't add much flavor, but the strawberry drizzle added a lot! How even?! In short, the waffle bites weren't that much of an upgrade from the ice cream scoop that I had on my first visit. I'm willing to say "too much good was no good" here. The waffles themselves were good, but they can only do so much when a flavored ice cream doesn't even taste like that flavor. It's worth noting that on my penultimate visit, when I got the Cookie Butter Waffle Bites, I saw two employees behind the front counter who were ready to take my order. I asked them to explain what the waffle bites were, but it took them a couple of tries to actually understand what I was asking. From what I gathered, the waffle bites were similar to the ice cream scoop I had on my first visit, but with the addition of a warm waffle to supplement the ice cream. However, the step-by-step process remains the same. I was initially told it would take 6 minutes to prepare the Cookie Butter Waffle Bites, but it actually took 15! It seemed like one was training the other or they were trying to gather the ingredients and/or the steps needed to create the waffle bites. After about 10 minutes, I was told by one of the employees they had to make a new batch of waffles because the first batch had burnt. The music was getting pretty loud, so it was hard to hear him after that, but I didn't want to hold up the kitchen prep process any longer. I just said "Alright, sure" so he could continue preparing my order. I do appreciate how he let me know of this so that I'd know the reason for the extended wait, but I wish they weren't so ill-prepared during my visit. So overall, still 3 stars overall. I appreciate the prior partnership with Fivestars, but these missed opportunities have led me to believe that Cravings is just not for me. I doubt I'll try anything else on their ice cream menu, and considering that there are only a few parking spots in their lot, it will take a lot to get me to try their hot chicken. And speaking of lack of parking, I also want to mention that on my second visit, I saw two open parking stalls right in front of Cravings, one on either side of a car. That car had its driver's side wide open so that I couldn't park there. I had to park on the passenger side of that car, which he left much less room for. Perhaps a microcosm of the clientele in this part of town? Everybody deserves a second chance, right? Unfortunately, not everybody can make the most of them, and this is just one example of such. What a great gem of an ice cream shop! While it was a little confusing on how to get there it's located on the corner of Alondra and Clark where the Chevron gas station is. Parking is a bit limited though. It is a combo store connected to Cravings Hot Chicken. One of the staff working both sides, Adam, was amazing. They're coming up on their first full year open, converting it from it being a barber shop from previous owners. The ice cream side is a bit in the small size, containing various Japanese snacks. There isn't much in the way of tables but an ice cream bench and seats. No restroom either. It was empty at the time we went around 8pm on a Thursday. It was our first time and he was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, went over most the items and suggestions. This man is the definition of great customer service. Gave suggestions on items and answered our questions. We opted for the Churro Sundae which, is a beast of a dessert and recommended a shareable one. It consisted of 1 layer of 1 large ice cream scoop 3 fresh Churro pieces, and a 2nd layer of a second large scoop of ice cream with another 3 Churro pieces. It came with a topping and drizzle of your choice. Went with Cookie Monster (blue cookies and cream) and Salted Caramel ice cream flavors. Brownie and cinnamon toast crunch as toppings with a caramel drizzle. Adam was fantastic recommending flavors that might go well with the flavors we chose. This dessert was amazing, the Churro was nice and warm slightly melting the ice cream Brownie bits in every bite. Cookie monster had nice chunks of cookies while the salted caramel ice cream had strong caramel flavors, it was great. Would love to try their other items! While we had waited for our sundae Adam also proceeded to go over the Cravings Hot Chicken menu which I definitely want to try. I was craving ice cream one evenings, but didn't want to go far. Found this place so I decided to give it a try. I came in and was surprised to see it shared a space with a restaurant next door. I was also surprised to see a first time Yelp check-in offer to get 50% off a scoop of ice cream. Pretty sweet! I was craving some chocolate, but unfortunately didn't see any plain chocolate flavors. But, they did have rock road, so I went with that instead. I showed my Yelp check-in offer, and the lady had to call for the owner to redeem the offer. After about 5 minutes, they eventually figured it out. I ended up only spending like $2-$3 for the scoop of rocky road! I felt kind of bad for not buying more, but I didn't anymore room in my stomach for more at the time. Today I was really craving ice cream and waffles. I decided to go to a local cafe and unfortunately they no longer had the variety as advertised in their yelp. So this spot was another location I considered. Well... I am 1000% happier that I came here! I have seen cravings for a while but I've never tried it. I wish I did 2 years ago when I stopped in the area. I had the horchata ice cream with peanuts, nutella drizzle wrapped in waffle which was PHENOMENAL. Creamy, tasty, and all I can say is... it satisfied my CRAVING! But I'm not done yet. I think even better than the ice cream was the service. I've been having a sweet tooth lately and was looking around to see what's available and came across this location. It's a small location with a lot of snacks, particularly from the Asian countries, and lots of variety when it comes to ice cream styles. They have about 8-10 ice cream flavors that you can dress up with a puffle cone, churros, waffles, etc. Nothing that stands out too much. This place has multiple options to build your ice cream treat. I decided to get a regular sundae. This consists of two scoops of ice cream and a choice of a topping and a drizzle. I chose scoops of horchata and also coffee & cookie ice cream with brownie pieces as my topping and caramel as the drizzle. It was ready in a couple minutes. The woman behind the counter had a gloomy personality but made one heck of a sundae. Unfortunately there is no indoor seating, only some outdoor counters. It being a chilly day I sat in my car to enjoy it. The flavors were fantastic. The coffee ice cream was bold and exceptionally delicious. The horchata was maybe the best I've tasted. The two scoops were enormous and there were tons of soft brownie bits mixed in. The caramel drizzle was nothing more than a drizzle, for shizzle. Normally my sweet tooth likes big, gooey, dollops of sauce on my sundaes but honestly this sundae didn't need much more than the given drizzle to satisfy me. Wanted something sweet after dinner so came to Cravings after finding them on Yelp. The people working there were nice and helpful. After eating lunch, my buddy and I went to cravings ice cream. Let me tell you, this place is basically similar to Afters ice cream. This place has very good ice cream as a cookie cutter chain. The ice cream offered are similar to g creamery and afters. They have: cookie monster, cereal milk, birthday cake, chocolate sundae, vanilla custard and other different flavors. I got the cereal milk and birthday cake between the two waffle patties. It was expensive for 8.50 plus tax came out to 10$ and to be honest, it was not worth the price tag but the ice cream tasted better than cold stone creamery and other ice cream places. I do not think it is better than afters ice cream because they don't offer the donut patties as they do in afters. But, the cookie monster is a staple and it was insanely delicious. It wasn't too sweet but it had a very delicious creamy texture to it. You want to get the sundae version of it, it is really good and it was about 8$ for the regular with the checkin deduction/discount. As for the waffle sandwich, it was great. I wouldn't suggest going again unless you want to gain weight, but the taste was very good. It wasn't too sweet and again the texture was creamy. The only flaw is that the place opens at 3 pm and closes at 10 pm. It was extremely bad hours. Other than that, the interior is cool, the exterior is small and it's located in a tiny corner. The menu had different combinations/variety of choices to choose from. You can get a cup of ice cream, a pint of ice cream, the sundae, milkshake, waffle sandwich and others. Plus you can add toppings and drizzle. The extra toppings and drizzle were $0.75. read more

Late night munchies to it's finest :) My girlfriend and I went here before watching a movie to satisfy our "Cravings" lol. When we get there, this place had a line and the Bellflower locals know their spot. The ambiance felt like an OC fair kinda vibe to it because of how they advertised their food. I know based on my previous reviews I tend not to be attracted on gimmicky food, but this is one of the exceptions. The employees are friendly and willing to recommend food and that is always a plus :) We ordered their Water Melon Lemonade, which in fact one of their best sellers. Its a good lemonade, but I cannot seem to taste the watermelon flavor haha. The chamoy and tajin powder is already mixed inside and spread all over this refreshing concoction. Of course, we ordered their ice cream since my girlfriend is been "Craving" it lol. Get it! Craving it haha Anyways, the ice has waffle on it, which is very cool.. kinda like an ice cream fondue :) It's creamy and flavorful, but it doesn't really standout. However, I do enjoy their presentation :) We ordered their dirty munchies as well.. it's those Mexican street food version of a ring peach and gummy worms.. they infused it with their chamoy.. so if you play Pokémon Go.. it's sorta like a dark version of that candy.. yeah I'm a nerd so what haha. This place is pretty cool! I was saw this place on IG so decided to stop by and try it out. They get busy though and the desserts they make actually take time but it will def be worth the wait. I ended up trying out the Insta Shake and it was pretty yummy!! It is cookies n cream based so I loved it. They put oreo crumbs around rim of cup so you can eat that later or during. My boyfriend ended up getting the Cookie Monster and that was delicious too. I don't think you will go wrong with any of their specialty items and there is so much to choose from. I def wanna go back to try something new and possibly try out their homemade lemonades. They also sell the gushers with the chamoy! Not really a fan but I know they are popular. I can talk about literally whatever aspects of my experience with this business I want. That's the entire point of Yelp. People that read it and resonate with my comments will benefit, if it's irrelevant to them then they won't pay attention to it. My reviews aren't for your benefit anyway, they are to inform the customer. So don't message me complaining about my negative review. But also, all negative things where? I stated 3 positives, the interesting snacks, the friendly service, and the large quantity of ice cream given. Did you miss those or are they still not positive enough for you? Especially when you have 4.5 stars overall anyway. You would have been fine just ignoring this one. And what did you think would happen? That I'd change my rating? Before your comment and message, I felt that 1 star was a bit harsh and was considering rating it 2 or 3 but after your responses I think 1 star is definitely deserved. Or did you think I'd delete it? Lmao no. But you're digging a hole for yourself. Now we know you would harass customers just because you don't like their opinions. Again, I don't run a business, so maybe I don't know everything, but I'm fairly certain harassing customers isn't good for business. Or you can keep hate-messaging me, I'll make sure to post all of them here :) Also in the spirit of redirecting people to ice cream places that do deserve your business, here's some ice cream places around the area I enjoyed more than Cravings: Handel's Ice Cream (they have a Downey location) - they also have traditional American style ice cream, with lots of good flavors and you can do ice cream flights (4 small scoops to share) Saffron Spot (Artesia) - scoop style ice cream with unique Indian flavors and they will actually let you sample flavors Meccha Matcha (Artesia) - they have 3 levels of matcha flavor ice cream, and other Asian flavors, both scoop style and soft serve. Stereoscope Coffee (Buena Park) - this actually isn't an ice cream place but the espresso soft serve they offer Fri/Sat/Sun is amazing, they use their own specialty coffee beans that they roast and it's always rotating, you can taste the tasting notes of the beans in the ice cream. Other seasonal soft serve flavors they've offered are matcha, yuzu passion fruit, and pumpkin spice, which are all amazing too. -- So disappointing. This place is out of the way being in Bellflower and it was absolutely not worth the drive. The parking lot was small, the shop is small and there's only outdoor seating, which is not attractive when you're just looking at an ugly street and in the cold. The inside is filled with oreos, kitkats, chips, candy etc. from other countries, and was interesting to look at. Some of it seemed kinda old though, like melted chocolate bars that re-solidified. The music playing was loud and obnoxious imo. There's a lot of variety for combinations you can do with the ice cream and churros and waffles and toppings and whatever but not much variety in actual ice cream flavors. The flavors were pretty basic and there maybe only like 10 of them. There were a few I was looking forward to try but they said I can't sample any flavors. Wtf? Who does that? How am I supposed to know which flavor I like? Didn't seem like it was for covid-related reasons either since nobody was wearing a mask or social distancing. So that was incredibly annoying. The service was friendly though. I got a scoop of Chocolate Walnut Brownie. It was pretty ok. I felt like I could get a similar quality of ice cream from a grocery store. One possible positive is that they give a LOT of ice cream in one scoop, it felt like 8 oz. But I prefer quality over quantity, I would much rather have half the amount and have it be actually good. The brownie pieces in there were kinda pasty and weirdly mint flavored? And the walnuts were very sparse, I probably only got 2 or 3 pieces in a huge scoop. Overall felt like a waste of calories. Love this trendy spot with a variety of delicious ice cream combos. I'm rating the location, customer service and of course ice cream so all in all giving a solid 3 stars. The shop interior is super cute and clean but the center it's located in is kind of shady and probably owned by a slum landlord who charges low rent, which is probably why this ice cream shop is located at this particular location. I don't blame the owners for that but hopefully this establishment can gain a good following, earn a lot of revenue and revamp the entire center (looks like they'll be opening a chicken shop right next door) or move to a safer feeling location in the city. The customer service is lacking... they didn't acknowledge us when we walked in and even when we stood at the counter nobody greeted us for a good 5 minutes- and they were 3 visible employees behind the counter. Also after we ordered, one of the employees rudely said to my husband, "hey bro can you wait outside"? I understand covid but "bro", you didn't ask the 3 people ahead of us to wait outside (they were all in there waiting for their order when we arrived). Last, the dessert is delightful and would definitely go back for dessert alone. My only recommendation is to perfect the display of the dessert and make sure to fill the cups! read more

Great little ice cream shop with some very unique snack and dessert offerings! I never knew lobster flavored potato chips exist! I got the waffle fries with cookie butter ice cream and topped with cinnamon toast crunch and caramel. Very delicious and I loved that the waffle fries were warm! The lack of parking can hinder the experience, but don't hold that against the place. They have snacks and candies from around the world as well as ice cream macaroons and soft drinks.
