Ordered a mangonada via DoorDash but they gave me some slushy instead. Called at 8:15pm to get the right thing but they said they weren't taking any orders anymore. Another reviewer had a similar issue of where the store closed at 8pm even though they are open until 9pm. How are you a business if you don't even operate during the stated hours? Thankfully DoorDash refunded me but definitely not ordering from them again.

Stopped by La Michoacana Lab since my friend is always craving sweets, and we both absolutely loved their big selection of Mexican snacks! I tried the Manzana Loca and my friend had a paleta de hielo - both were incredibly delicious and tasted genuinely authentic, not like a copycat version you sometimes find. The flavors were spot on and very attentive. The place was also noticeably clean, which is always a plus. Even though there were four people inside, the two employees working were very efficient and the line moved fast. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great Mexican treats! read more

Walked in at 8 pm and the worker named Nicole said she couldn't make a raspado because they were closing in 1 hour and she had to clean. All she could provide was paletas or ice cream... like really?! I was mind blown. It sucks for the owner loosing business because of lazy workers who clearly have to leave at 9 on the dot because that is the time they close. Ridiculous! Will Never come back. Nicole maybe work a little bit faster so you don't need 1 whole hour to clean. read more

Not sure about you but I want a customers business. My family and I got there exactly at 8 pm. Doors were not locked yet as we are about to walk in a male employee saids "Sorry we are closed," as he locks the door. I would understand if this is a restaurant but it's an ice cream shop, all we wanted was paletas that are already made. Won't be coming here anymore if this is how they care about their customers. La Michoacana Premium in South Gate would never do this. read more

This place is no good. I gave it another try for the third time and it's the same. Customer service no good, ice cream no hood I order hot cheatos with cheeses it had a lot of burned cheese like if they gave me the last of it. Food no good. I typically go to other Michoacanas but decided to stop here as it was on my way to my destination. The outside says it has a lounge inside however to my surprise there was no lounge, just a couple of benches against the wall. I was also surprised to see they had very limited flavors of ice cream when compared to other michoacanas. Besides the limited flavors and no lounge, the service and taste of their products was great. The employees were very friendly and attentive and offered us several samples. Also, the ice cream has the same amazing taste as other Michoacánas. I would recommend coming here if you live close by. But if you are looking for a place to hangout with some ice cream do not come here as there is no lounge. read more

Worst customer service ever. I got here at 7:10 pm waited in line for 15 minutes and when I was next I was told they close in 30 mins so their only serving ice cream. Teach your employees to communicate. When I was greeted when I walked in I should've been told they were only serving ice cream. Lazy employees. Do better read more

I ordered 3 esquites to go, to eat in the car. They were cold, almost as if they were refrigerated. The esquites should have the water drained when serving. They were swimming at the bottom. Why the hell would you serve a hot food cold? Service was slow as well, considering it was not busy at all. read more

I ordered the strawberry and banana with Nutella crepes, esquites, kiwi cucumber Agua Frescas, and chocolate ice cream. You can tell they use fresh fruit. Great selection and friendly customer service. Everything is soooooo gooooood! Perfect place to go for desserts. read more

By far the best Michoacana paleteria I've been to. They make everything so tasty...their esquite is the best. It's got the perfect portions of ingredients and they clean out their corn...no le dejan pelos de elote. I also tried their "diablito"...so delicious. I've also had about 10 different flavors of ice cream pops and they are so yummy. I live far but I am more than willing to make the drive to get my ice cream fix. I'm the kind of person that once I find that place I love...I will drive near or far to get what I'm craving. Y'all need to try this place. You won't be disappointed. read more

Really great customer service. Multiple choices of snacks and ice cream that are all freshly made. We bought an esquite with Hot Cheetos, Tostilocos, and fresas con crema that were all delicious and well portioned. Glad there is a Michoacana here in Downey! Will definitely be returning. read more

I go all the way to Downey from Culver City for the paletas and the customer service! The ice cream taste way better than all the other Michoacánas I've been to. They also have crepes and fresh squeezed orange juice which is perfect for mornings! Definitely recommend this place! read more

Bought some paletas today they were so good !! This was the first time going I will definitely go back again.. I ordered several paletas just finished eating the cajeta.. it was so good. I was looking for a Michoacana and I happen to Google a location and this one came up. I have to say I never have tried their Ice Cream's before but man was I missing out. I initially came here to get some for my sister's and my 2 boy's. Next thing I know I ended getting one for myself. They have so many selections that you just can't help to want all the flavors. The staff was very friendly and knew what to recommend. They definitely provided me 5 Star Service and made me feel welcome. I didn't know what I wanted walking in but they definitely made it easier for me to make up my mind on the flavor I wanted. I ended up getting 2 Pistachio Paletas, 1 scoop of Coffee Ice Cream and 1 scoop of Pistachio Ice Cream. Hands down the best Ice Cream and Paleta I have ever had. DELICIOUS!!! My boys loved their Abuelita Chocolate Ice Cream and Milk and Strawberries. The Mangoneada that my sister got was AMAZING!!! This is what you call Customer Service. They definitely gained a customer for life. If anyone is looking for an AMAZING Ice Cream place, I suggest to stop by LA Michoacana Lab in Downey. Update: They're no longer affiliated with Fivestars!…read more I've since gone two additional times to try their waffle bites. My last trip was kind of spontaneous because I suddenly got a Fivestars reward that day for these waffle bites. However, when I arrived, I was looking for the Fivestars tablet only to be met by a Clover tablet instead. It felt like I went through a time warp because the employee working behind the register didn't seem to have any idea what I was trying to say regarding Fivestars, though he did notice a little trifold card on the front counter mentioning Fivestars. I asked if he could get his manager so I could explain, and even show, him my Fivestars reward. The reward said "already accepted", which he almost thought meant I had redeemed it already, but if that were the case, then it would have said "already redeemed". Given that they've now done away with Fivestars, I'm not too surprised he may have gotten the words "accepted" confused with "redeemed", but luckily, he was happy enough to honor it for me. The employee who assisted me was very helpful, though he did ask me to repeat the topping and the drizzle that I wanted. I chose the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor ice cream with Fruity Pebbles toppings and a Strawberry drizzle on top. Since I had already tried the cookie flavors before, I figured I'd try the fruity flavors this time around. He said he needed about 5 minutes to prepare my waffle bites, which were presented a little different than last time. Last time, I got the Cookie Butter flavor with *Cookie* Crisp and Peanut *Butter* (see what I did there?), and it came in a small plastic takeout container. This one came in a large plastic cup, and I'm thinking the logistics may have changed a ton between my last two visits. I did appreciate how the employee asked if I wanted the waffles on top of or beneath the ice cream before making the waffle bites; I chose on top. He also asked if I'd like powdered sugar on top, to which I agreed. Unfortunately, neither of the waffle bites I got from my last two visits impressed me that much. As a matter of fact, the only thing that impressed me was the strawberry drizzle. Everything else fell kind of flat. While generous in size for the $8 price tag, the Cookie Butter and the Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream didn't really taste like these flavors at all! For whatever reason, the peanut butter didn't add much flavor, but the strawberry drizzle added a lot! How even?! In short, the waffle bites weren't that much of an upgrade from the ice cream scoop that I had on my first visit. I'm willing to say "too much good was no good" here. The waffles themselves were good, but they can only do so much when a flavored ice cream doesn't even taste like that flavor. It's worth noting that on my penultimate visit, when I got the Cookie Butter Waffle Bites, I saw two employees behind the front counter who were ready to take my order. I asked them to explain what the waffle bites were, but it took them a couple of tries to actually understand what I was asking. From what I gathered, the waffle bites were similar to the ice cream scoop I had on my first visit, but with the addition of a warm waffle to supplement the ice cream. However, the step-by-step process remains the same. I was initially told it would take 6 minutes to prepare the Cookie Butter Waffle Bites, but it actually took 15! It seemed like one was training the other or they were trying to gather the ingredients and/or the steps needed to create the waffle bites. After about 10 minutes, I was told by one of the employees they had to make a new batch of waffles because the first batch had burnt. The music was getting pretty loud, so it was hard to hear him after that, but I didn't want to hold up the kitchen prep process any longer. I just said "Alright, sure" so he could continue preparing my order. I do appreciate how he let me know of this so that I'd know the reason for the extended wait, but I wish they weren't so ill-prepared during my visit. So overall, still 3 stars overall. I appreciate the prior partnership with Fivestars, but these missed opportunities have led me to believe that Cravings is just not for me. I doubt I'll try anything else on their ice cream menu, and considering that there are only a few parking spots in their lot, it will take a lot to get me to try their hot chicken. And speaking of lack of parking, I also want to mention that on my second visit, I saw two open parking stalls right in front of Cravings, one on either side of a car. That car had its driver's side wide open so that I couldn't park there. I had to park on the passenger side of that car, which he left much less room for. Perhaps a microcosm of the clientele in this part of town? Everybody deserves a second chance, right? Unfortunately, not everybody can make the most of them, and this is just one example of such. Thanks for the sweet treats Cravings, but I'll get my next one somewhere else.
